Use the Armory system and make a healer run to the front lines and heal away no need to fight.

1) you can get a ton of AP (shared AP from the ones you healed)

2) you help out the alliance, low bar of effect.

3) fastest way to tier 3 which after you get your event rewards is a nice reward.

4) take a break don’t burn out, much like PvE for PvPers it’s not your game mode and that’s okay don’t like it burn you out.

Well, I suppose you could do that but I suspect many wont.

Problem is a good number of PVEers know from their experience when facing the dangerous NPC mobs, its good strategy to take out the healer(s) first >:)

Biggest tip is actually for those that haven't already give it a go. You die? So what, we all die, we die multiple times a day, we die, we get back up, we die again.

But the epic battles are so much fun, scroll running is fun, give it a go, you may enjoy it

I started out PVPing as a zerg-surfing healer. It can be a lot of fun. You don't even have to be a "healer" class - I did it on my MagDK with Mutagen and Healing Springs spam.

My biggest tip for zerg- surfing healers: Pay attention to your surroundings, and especially your alliance mates. You want to stick close to the biggest/best group in the fight, but stay a little behind them. Let them charge into the breach or choke point first, while you heal from a safer place. If an enemy player targets you, again, know where your allies are. If you get lucky, you can run back to them and peel the enemy off like dragging an NPC mob to the tank in a dungeon.

If you are in an LFG group, stick close to your crown and they'll handle most of the battlefield positioning and defending you so you can concentrate on healing your group.

If your experience is anything like mine, it'll take time and a lot of deaths to learn that battlefield awareness. I tried to learn from every death, even if it was just "Okay, I pushed too fast" or "Ooops, the better PVPers knew that was a losing fight and retreated before I did."

Even though I died a lot, I made a lot of AP, and eventually found a great PVP guild that valued that sort of battlefield awareness and having good healers in their group.

So if you want to give healing in PVP a try, I think it's a lot of fun. Zerg-surfing is a great way to get your feet wet!

If you want to try this tactic, I'd suggest building a tanky character that predominantly heals yourself. In the process of standing in the front, spamming heals to keep yourself alive, you'll be amazed how helpful you are being to those around you.
As a veteran pvper, all it takes is a single surprisingly tanky/healy boy to ruin a carefully planned burst combo.

Yeah, I think I had around 40k health with impenetrable Plague Doctor when I started as a zerg-surfing healer. Still died lots, but the extra tankiness kept me alive long enough to start figuring out why I was dying.

If you are going that path Orgnum's Scales (craftable) and Pariah (Worthgar) are generally considered stronger overall options for tankiness and Fortified Brass isn't bad either. The craftable ones can be useful as you an mix and match weights - because health may stop you getting bursted down, but running out of stam/magicka will get you killed.

When I go questing in Cyrodiil with my tank now and then outside of events I wear Hatchlings Shell and Permafrost which with bewitched sugar skulls a backbar restro staff and strategic reserve ultimate plus bear means that a lot of gankers and weaker one on one players will actually get bored and wander off when they discover they can't kill me and I can't kill them either.

If you are just looking to get to Tier 1 so you can get the end of campaign reward crystals, the easiest and safest way I know is to repair keeps. With the double AP bonus it takes about 15 minutes. No need to change your build or even set foot outside the keeps.
