Seige weapons, their potential and limited use

We can only use them in Cyrodiil.
I made my brother play the IC main quest recently and I had forgotten that they use Ballistae in the final mission to fend off a hoard of enemies.
It's the ONLY time I've ever seen siege weapons being used in story content.

Then we recently ventured into the deadlands and saw this massive four-armed dude walking towards us.
I know they're just there for decoration, but how cool would've been if we could spawn siege weapons and start blasting him from a distance before he got near and crushed us?
Something simple as that could completely spice up stories to make gameplay more engaging.
Heck, even the final boss in Blackwood has a cool monster in the background I think would be nice to shoot at with a catapult to keep at bay while you fight the small boss in front of you (I'm just trying to avoid spoilers but I'm sure everyone knows what I'm talking about at this point).
Even public events like those would be nice, Siege weapons are accessible to everyone without needing DLC's, they can be purchased with AP or Gold, so it's not like it would force players into PvP, and the idea that imperial city was PvPvE had me excited to think that we could use siege weapons against gigantic monsters in imperial city (which sadly wasn't the case)

Maybe with the expansion we get to see ships approaching so we can use siege weapons to try to destroy them before they reach the main land?
I dunno, I just think there's a lot of potential to use them other than just Cyrodiil's sieges.
I don't think anybody cares that they can't destroy PvE buildings anyway, and they've been nerfed against NPC's too, so I doubt they could be use to maximize DPS (considering important bosses are in-doors and wouldn't have room to actually use a siege weapon other than ballistae and dwemer gatling guns, forgot their names).

during the story quest "The Crystal Tower" of Summerset chapter, PC will use old ballista to unblock passage (and to destroy a wraith-of-crows, afair) in captured tower.
upd. personally, I would like to be able to use war machines everywhere in ESO, not only in Cyrodiil. Anyway, overland is _easy_.

There is also a quest which is part of the main zone story arc in Greenshade where you use ballista on a ship to defeat a sea serpent.

There's been some use of siege weapons - like "Hey, use a ballista to kill a dragon" in Elsweyr.

What PVE doesn't have is the gameplay freedom that you do in Cyrodiil to choose the best siege weapon for the job. You can't be like "Hmm, I'm dying alot during this world boss fight. Can I stand back and pelt him with a meatbag?"

Come to think of it, that's probably one reasons why ZOS limits siege weapons to scripted uses during specific quests...

there is also technically some ballistae in the vrol boss fight in kyne aegis trial (i dont think many groups use it though)

for most enemies though you would only get like a couple shots before they would either physically get to you or you would be shooting them from such a distance they would reset upon trying to get to you

they also have absolutely horrible camera angles for the most part, so not really that fun to use sometimes (the ballista have the best cameras but arent the most effective unless its a coldfire one)

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (fully filled out with current game), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

in progress: acquiring mundus stones (currently only have the thief)

They need buffed for PvP though. Just now a tank stood in front of BRK and ate a fire lancer and a couple of coldfires all the while being debuffed by meatbags. No support healers at all just a lone tank.

definitely this, most siege feels way too weak unless its meatbags + coldfire (along with someone applying plaguebreak to make them hesitant to purge)

You would have to be close enough so that he doesn't reset trying to get to your position meaning he will be able to thump you as you are on your siege. Basically if you are solo it is one shot and done as the boss pounds on you. The siege machine isn't going to reload fast enough for a 2nd shot.
You could use a tank and one other player on siege but that would just make the fight boring.

Dang, I didn't know that about those expansions (And I kinda remember the giant snake and the ships, but I don't remember siege weapons on the ships). Still, I guess the main point is the freedom to use them at will in important PvE areas and not just placing them, I'd still take a siege vs warships type of public event instead of dolmens with volcano themes.

Better yet, let siege equipment stack.

I would like this. Equipment that isn't at 100% maybe not stack but anything that is at 100% stacking would be nice. Even if it were in the bank only it would help. I understand why it doesn't but would be nice if they could figure out a way to make it happen.

Oh yeah, I remember when I finally got centurion title (last PvP reward I wanted, before golden laurel from this event), knowing I wouldn't have to step into Cyrodiil ever again, I decided to get rid of all my siege weapons (except lancers, mementos that were hard to find lol), and the amount of bank space I cleared up was insane.

I agree, weapons at 100% should be stackable
