Strange guild member

Not really sure where to post this, so I picked here.
I am guild master of a rather small guild. 24 members, to be exact. One of my members seems to be different then all others I have ever seen. First off in the roster his name never shows is faction, location, class or level. The only thing that shows is name and last log in time. And every time I am offline he is on. And I have noticed that just as I have logged on they had logged off 1 minute prior. They aren't doing anything wrong such as robbing the guild bank or talking trash. They just don't show any info like everyone else.
Any ideas what is causing this?

Try asking other people in your guild if they can see the players info.

My guess is that the guild roster only updates for you while you're online, but can only pull info on players while they're online, so if you're never on at the same time it can't get info on them.

UPDATE: I noticed that his last log in time keeps recycling. After a few minutes it sets back to 1 minute. Also, someone suggested this player may have created a character and did not finish. That cant be if he joined the guild. And when I mouse over his name no alt name appears.
I am really confused. I would hate to boot the player over a simple glitch, if that is the case.

Do you have add-ons? Because it sounds like an add on causing an issue.

I have someone like that on my friend list over on EU. Don’t remember who the person is, but same display as described. I just assumed it’s a bug and not something that person is actually doing.

First off that info only comes from an addon that adds that info to the guild roster, secondly as was already mentioned, the info only populates if you see the person online. Lastly, he/she is probably playing in offline mode.

That's my guess, too. The only thing I'm not sure about is the last login time, because I thought it reflected the time when the player was last "online." I don't know why it would keep changing to 1 minute ago unless the player is constantly flipping their status from offline to online and then back to offline. Are there any addons that can do that for you, so you don't have to do it manually in order to keep from getting kicked from guilds that kick inactive members after a certain number of days?

just send them a mail and ask. if you hear no reply, presume they've left the game. seems logical to me

Have they created a character, joined the guild and then deleted their only toon ?

They don't have to delete every character, just the last one they were playing. They could have 17 others, but they don't matter if the player is not logging into them.

I've noticed this on my friends list, and with someone familiar (including via voice chat), so it's definitely a real person and not a bot or anything.

I had that on a guildie a while ago. They had stopped playing and deleted the last character they were on, so they showed up as a "no character".

so if you message them in game, they may not reply, unless they are actually playing, just in offline mode.

A while back friends of mine reported that on their friends list, I was showing up as having last been on one minute ago as well. I'm not sure if it's an addon thing or just something wonky with the friends list in-game.

I've suspected it happens when the players delete their last logged in char without logging in another afterwards.

Whenever the guild roster borks this happens to everyone. Those that haven't been back on since it was fixed show up as still borked. The person has not been online since the last time the system went ^^ up, so I'd say it's safe to wish them farewell 8)

It may be something different but a friend of mine made a new account on one of those free trial weekends. I have him on my friendslist but because the account isn't active anymore it shows like that too.

I find that in the guild roster if there is blank character info it is for one of two reasons:

1. The player is in the character creation menu and/or logged off - timed out before selecting a character from the character menu.
2. The player is/or was last online on the PTS.

I find this occurs quite often when the PTS first launches at the beginning of a PTS cycle. Tons of people in guild roster have missing guild info and only the name shows but the rest is blank.

Whether this is a bug or it is intended, it happens quite frequently that I noticed and I assume these players are on the PTS.
There may be something else going on in your case, however it is not uncommon to see a blank line after a player name.

edit: I should note that the PTS is installed as a separate file so this really doesn't make sense and could be entirely coincidental. It is however the 'time' when I notice this happening most often with the blank guild info, other than simply a guild member timing out in the character creation screen.

Something similiar happened to me. Turns out the lizard friend had ignored me.

Actually yes, I like this. Yeah he's in your guild and you manage the guild. So... manage the situation.

If in doubt or something you can't manage - ticket to ZOS.

Hi, there are two things what causing this in guild roster and friend list.
Name without other info and last online cycling "< 1 minute" when you relogging with yours characters:
1. "Social Status" addon and settings to offline. It is old not updated problems causing (colliding with libaddonmenu-2.0 library, this addon have own library and causing to hide other addons in "Addons Settings" menu) addon and have a bug that you will not have last location on roster and you will see last logged "< 1 minute".
2. He created character, logged with it, set to Offline and then just deleted that character and playing with other characters in offline mode. Game posting last known location, level and name of last character what was online. But if you do this game cant post anything so you see only userID without other info.

Thats all.
Reasons are different anyway you can send him mail as GM and ask if he is active. He still can chat in guild chat.
