Random Direnni Lore

Lord Corvus Direnni (?b - 1E ?d)
A powerful conjurer of the Direnni clan. His spell secrets were recorded in his Grimoire.[19] Along with his contemporary Calani Direnni, he was a pioneer of the modern School of Conjuration. Their binding rituals are still used when summoning lesser daedra.[20] However, Corvus in particular is lauded for codifying its rules.[21] He was apparently the first conjurer to interweave the summoning and binding of a daedra into a single spell, making the practice exponentially safer.[22] He took part in the Battle of Glenumbra Moors circa 1E 482, where his conjured creatures played a pivotal role.[23]

Corvus was the first to theorize that the wayshrines of Tamriel correspond to the pattern of stars in the night sky, and that they could be used as some sort of transportation network. He also used Ayleid research to devise and then promulgate the standard "portal" spells which were later put into use by the Mages Guild.[24]

I wonder if his theory has ever been proven..

Interesting to note that wayshrines are lore supported.

IMO the fact our characters do use a "star pattern skybox" animation when we teleport to a shrine is a proof in itself.

The star pattern skybox animation is proof enough for me :) though I did look for a map of Mundus showing all the wayshrines to see what pattern they would create -with no success. And it seems now that Norianwe of Clan Direnni is able to animate armor and the statues that have become animated - was this the Daedric Beast Shyazzel's doing?

I have created a new character that begins in the Isle of Balfiera and wonder of these two things,

    0iUiKki.jpg

is this prisoner in the Forgotten Cells meant to represent us?

and this Aldmeri Exiles shield - is this available to be crafted?

thankyou @Taris - this led to this

Crafting Motif 89: Ancestral High Elf Style
    by Raven Direnni

    https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Crafting_Motif_89:_Ancestral_High_Elf_Style

    which led to this -

To prepare for the war, Raven Direnni outlined the design of armor later classified as Ancestral High Elf style.

Raven Direnni was an Altmer noblewoman from the early First Era. She is often mentioned alongside her better-known cousins, Aiden and Ryain Direnni, all of whom played a major role in the historical Battle of Glenumbra Moors, but beyond that, she is sometimes accredited as the creator of enchanting, a magical discipline in which you use a soul gem to embed magical powers into an inanimate object.[1]

    https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Raven_Direnni

which explains how Norianwe of the Direnni on the Ilse of Balfiera knew how to animate armor that we practice our skills on.

I really like those little details.

And now i just found out that the new Quasigriff mount was also a Direnni creation

A remnant maybe of the Direnni presence in Artaeum - A storm Atronach Worker tending the fields of Artaeum

Also I have found reference to the prisoner in the forgotten cells - an easter egg it seems though I hope one day he will be connected to the Lady Thorn of the Direnni clan since he wears the armor of the Nighthollows clan

    Dark Souls
In the Forgotten Cells area right where the player starts off in the Isle of Balfiera tutorial, before going through the door with Norianwe after you choose your weapon, to the right within a cell, you can find a knight's spirit around a bonfire with an Ancestral High Elf Style sword in it. This is an obvious reference to Dark Soul's bonfire mechanic, and a quick google search will show this in images. Additionally, the Nighthollow Style worn by the ghostly knight resembles armor from the Dark Souls series.

Raven, Corvus... interesting, the preponderance on crows.

To draw that bow a bit longer, I wonder if there's a connection between that and the Direnni link with The Western Reach (which seems to have a crow thing going on).
