Lead in chests in a dungeon?

I'm sorry but... who thought of this idea? It's a total nightmare trying to get folks to wait 5 seconds for a chest run. Everyone is always rush rush rush ahhhh!

At least the black drake villa lead is just enemies, though players love to skip half of them and I don't have the heart to force a pull.

Edit: To the people who wanna be like 'well if you just say what you're after in chat-" yeah no, people don't care, if anything me saying I'm here for leads in chests/mobs make them sprint faster and skip more.

I've run Falkreath for the lead about 25/30 times over the past 4 or 5 days. I just say "looking for chests for the lead" at the start and not a single time has anybody complained or left or skipped ahead.

A simple communication of expectations at the beginning is usually all it takes. I realize this is just anecdotal as well.

Most of the chests are within the town area after the mammoth. If you can solo him, it's easier just to do it by yourself imo.

I don’t know if I can solo him but it’s my best bet. I ran a group dungeon with guildies yesterday and since I was the only stamina toon they sprinted ahead at every boss and I couldn’t keep up. So that isn’t any better than pugs.

Also even after the final boss you can go back to the mammoth/town area.

Leave the final boss house, hold right of the stairs (don't go down) at the wall, there are is a spot you can jump down right next to the skeleton boss.

... and also enter the catacombs again and loot the area before the draugr boss

Thats a matter of communication. I told it to players and we just searched, noone ever complained. With some groups we where even able to communicate to split up so someone searches while the rest are clearing the way. Worked pretty well.

If you told those guildies clearly that you were there for the chests and they just ignored it, it might be time for a better guild.

After trying today to do this I really do understand where OP is coming from.

Groups have been skipping the whole town area and been pulling me through to the fights before I’ve had chance to open a single chest and if I go back at the end to get the chests all the adds are there so there is absolutely no chance of doing this as everyone wants nirn weapons not the leads

Leads should not be in chest in dungeons everywhere else fine but not inside dungeons they should be on the adds or the bosses not chests if they are in a chest it should be a near 100% drop rate

I take Bastian with me as a tank and I can clear the town area (on normal) with most the chests just fine. Still haven't gotten the lead yet though...

I think I am with OP on this. I have been farming Nirn recently, and people sure are in an awful hurry. Don't get me wrong, when I farm weapons from dungeons, I am usually one to say lets go fast as we can, so I do get it.

I have also seen this dungeon come up a decent amount in my random queue recently (probably because people are using the queue to farm) and its the worst of the fake tank/healers that we so often hear about on the forums. I mostly find it amusing because this is one of those normal dungeons that has adds that can 2 shot you in a hurry. I think this is one that if I decide I need that band, I will probably have to solo farm, which sounds like a massive pain.

You know what would probably solve or at least help this is smart loot in dungeon chests. As they are now, if you are trying to fill your sticker book, chests simply arent worth the time they take to open. If they had smart loot, farming groups would absolutely try to find and open all the chests. It would also take more like 15 runs instead of 45 to fill your sticker book, which IMO, is a little more reasonable.

i agree putting it as a low chance drop on trash mobs in some dungeons was a lot (considering how many people in queue like to outright skip majority of mobs in black drake villa)

putting in chests was kind of annoying for sure, although i did this with a group of friends and i think most of us had the lead after about 6 runs (we specifically were hunting chests, once we found the 2 chests we would just finish it for the drop)

i think i did go in solo at least once and do up through the town area and couple of times i went in with just group of 2 or 3 since they were friends and we were hunting the chests

No, I did Dread Cellar for the first time. At least they let me log out and relog so I could complete the quest since the questgiver is bugged.

I just point this out since everyone thinks that getting guild members to run with you solves all your problems automatically.

So I’ve done nothing but run this dungeon for the past 3 days 30+ runs so far opened every chest I could get to without being pulled through to a boss fight, no lead still but I am about 3 weapons away from a full dungeon sets

I never knew this lead was here as I’ve only just gotten into antiquities after changing to PC and rebuilding all my characters backup after taken a break from the game

The person at Zos that thought this was a great idea to put a lead in a chest inside a dungeon behind a absolutely low percentage drop rate behind team cooperation needs to be given their P45 and told never to have an idea ever again

I’m actually in pain with repetitive strain with this and I thought 16 runs in vma was painful, it’s things like this that take the fun out of games

I literally do this every run and even folks in Black Drake Villa 'speed run' and skip mobs/drag everyone to the next boss. People don't care, you got lucky, but most folks are selfish ***
