Not really. Closest I came was seeing Miss Biz in Auridon a few years ago.

I see forum users in-game quite often (even got to mudball Saucy Jack once ).

I've been recognized by others as well and had fun conversations with them.

I have my settings set to "Prefer Character Name". If I changed it to "Prefer UserID" I would recognize more posters I imagine.

I remember meeting someone from the forums in one of the delves in Clockwork City. I *think* it was urQuan, but I can't remember now.

And I've seen @BenevolentBowd waiting for the Golden to show up on Fridays a couple of times.

It's like spotting a celebrity!

I don't think I have. I have seen a couple people in the forum that I knew from guilds, though.

I haven't in a while, but then my play time has been curtailed in the last year or two.
But, yes! Not only did I run into forum peps, I know several from current and former guilds.

I saw someone's house here from the housing forums. She was nice.

Oh I failed to mention that one forum poster who I was on the opposite side of a very heated debate with once and I both ended up joining the same guild around the same time. We recognized each other's names and have become very good friends since then.

Well i met only Zvavi from the forums in the game. Of course i didnt say anything about it xD

First time i jumped in for random vet as a DD (which is rly rare as im a tank main) and Zvavi was a tank. That was some nice presion not to fail that run xD I didnt had forum acount at that time yet.

Second time i got invited for "fun" trial run. It was vet Rockgrove and i never tanked it on vet before. Zvavi was the main tank and was teaching me what i have to do as an off tank. After that i meet him few more times in vRG.


I dont know if i want to be famous enough for ppl to recognize me in the game... I complain so much on the forums that this could be problematic xD

I do hope you reported this behavior. Especially if they were very specific I would expect it would be worthy of strong action from Zenimax.

I had the misfortune of seeing a threat against schools posted in the forums of a different game. I initially reported it in-game since it is an illegal act but mostly because it could be a real threat instead of an ignorant comment. I then realized they could take a while to do anything so I reported it to the FBI who followed up on it within hours.

The point is, it is illegal in most jurisdictions to threaten people. Granted, it would be hard for most to figure out where we are to carry out such a threat but it is still something most gaming companies do not want in their community.

I've recognized some names from the forum, and a few others from videos or articles or the like, but I generally don't say anything because I guess I'm introverted like that. Some forum folks are in guilds with me, though, so I occasionally talk to them there.

I've had two people recognize me from the Headcanon and say something about that, one via whisper and one in guild chat. The person who whispered me told me about seeing one of Darien's writers like a post on Twitter where people were saying some nice things about my writing, but after an absurd number of hours trawling Twitter I was never able to find it. But that was a nice ego boost anyway.

I did see Varanis Arano in-game once. I ran into a keep to spam Soul Trap on the huge red mob that was in the process of taking it over, and recognized Varanis in the crowd just before I got my requisite stomping.

Let's see... I've also seen two characters that I recognized as Darien fanciers from a certain social media blog site. Didn't have the nerve to say anything to either of them, but I have befriended TiaFrye over on EU and it's been fun dishing about Darien with her.

The majority I have run into were already in the same guilds as me.

About the only one I have run into outside my guilds would be @WiseSky

Think it was just after or just before the new CP system came out, I think i had been part of a thread about using master writs to level up fast to the new soft cap of CP1800, I was shopping for master writs both on traders in zone.

WiseSky managed to track me down while outside the Vivec wayshrine, looking to sell me a large number of master writs, we ended up chatting, though the trade never happened due to the prices being outside my budget(if I had bought off him I would not have been able to afford the extra purple upgrade mats I needed, as it was I nearly ran dry of gold by the time I had done all the master writs I had hoarded) we somehow ended up on each others friend lists after that.

I am sure if I had the user id's turned on instead of character names in settings, I would probably recognized quite a few more in my death recaps over the years in battlegrounds/Imperial city and Cyrodiil.

Other than that the only time I really appear in zone chat is to answer a question or post a price check.
