Idea: furnishing storage 250-500 for non ESO+, subscription provides unlimited furnishing storage

Edit 2, Original Post Beneath: Many comments have also suggested the creation of a Master Attunable Station where players can buy the “rights” for a specific crafting set so that it would save on furnishing space for houses.

Also something of an actual Guild Hall that may have different permissions versus someone on a guild roster using their home as the Guild Hall.

My thoughts to the Master Attunable Station: would be to add a search bar, the same kind we get when we interact with a merchant to sell our stuff. This would also help when crafting because right now I memorize the order of which sets show up when selecting style materials, if there was a search bar it would be easier to complete write or craft sets with specific styles. The number of styles I sift through is a lot once you become a Grand Master Crafter and filter by “known styles.” Although add-ons do exist to help with crafting, people like myself who play on Stadia are unable to use them.

End of Edit 2.

Beginning of Original Post:

Too many furnishings and with the introduction to High Isle, we're going to be overwhelmed again with more craftable sets and dungeon sets AND furnishings. I am not rich enough to buy all the homes in Tamriel to storage dump. I would like a way to be able to collect furnishings and then decorate as appropriately.

Also, just an idea here too, but housing system similar to armory system where you can save and swap a design for the house based on the holiday theme?

Yes, it'll probably overload the servers, but if we can launch a rocket to the moon with just 24mbs of data (exaggeration here), I think we can accomplish this feat too!

Edit 1:

Here is how much RAM it took to actually go to the moon (72kb): https://www.business-standard.com/article/technology/would-your-phone-be-powerful-enough-to-get-you-to-the-moon-like-apollo-did-119070200272_1.html

Now that set items are sorted I do believe housing furniture needs something, I have 7 homes that are just housing dumps but theme types.

I don't know if it would be feasible, but it'd be great if we got some extra storage for furnishings--it doesn't have to be unlimited, like the craft bag, but even a limited bag, or at least a few extra storage boxes would already help a lot.

I'd love to have a furnishing bag. I have Coldharbour as a storage home - and it's almost full. All my storage crates are full. My bank is to 3/4 full with furnishings. A lot of it is bound stuff that can't be sold, deconstructed or otherwise used. >.<

I agree that consolidation is needed. I also have the same concern that you pointed out: server performance. While humans can achieve great things as a collective mind, the minds in control of this game's servers are either not collective, not great, or are severely under-budgeted. Therefore, I cannot be on board with new things that will be more strain on the toaster servers we got to work with. If ZOS stopped being so cheap, a lot of people would be happy and willing to spend the money necessary for those upgrades. Seriously want to know who is in charge of budgeting at this company...

It has been suggested previously that the inside & outside of houses (that have this) could be seen as different instances & therefore have the max slots in that way.

But then I realise I don’t understand the ‘its the server’ excuse if they keep adding more stuff anyway….🤔

My understanding is that last gen consoles are the source of the limit and ZOS keeps to the lower number to not give PC users an advantage. So until Last get consoles are deprecated, there is a hard limit.

But - just like the lunar landing - furnishing storage isn’t going to happen, either.

Unless there is some way to channel Stanley Kubrick, and get him to make it LOOK like we have unlimited storage - even though we all know it’s not possible.

    Issue:
    - too many items in the game,

    Solution:
    - adds 2 pets for an extra 10 slots per character
    - also adds nearly 5000 furnishings to the game with no way to deconstruct or store
    them.
    - treasure maps still can’t stack

    Issue Fixed!

One thing that needs to happen, is the ability to combine *Attuned* Crafting Set Stations together.

That way people who collect many set stations for others to use can simply use a station with a search function for a set rather than place hundreds of individual craft stations.

One thing I thought of is at least allowing us to 'bind' furnishings that we want. I have about 300 slots being wasted due to duplicate furnishings because some are bound and some are not... this is because I buy every house furnished then change it to my style from there.

What is your source for this please as can’t see how this would have an effect on an item limit in a single instance.

This is in relation to the limit of furnishings in homes and is not related to what we are discussing here which is some sort of furnishing bag to store all the furnishing we can not sell or deconstruct.

This is very evident if you are on a older xbox one (not the series x), and look at something like the celestial vortex or the nebula furnishing… the xbox fan spins up and it sounds like a jet engine. If you have a lot of furnishings in the same area, the same thing happens. If however they split the house into two instances, say the inside and the outside, although you would have a longer loading screen, it would allow 700 furnishings in each area. I assume this is also the reason that they start instancing the main city in the new zones. For example, Wayrest is the same instance as Stormhaven, however Leyawiin and Blackwood are separate instances.

"regardless of anyone’s platform or hardware specifications"

There has been a lot of discussion on this forum about limits and it always comes down to consoles and their limits.

    also provides a detailed discussion.

FWIU Zenimax has said they would not do a furnishing bag like the crafting bag because it would be a significantly larger query due to the significantly larger number of unique furnishing items compared to crafting matts. They are trying to reduce server load, not increase it.

Also, the way they did the armory would not work for many crafting items because they are crown store purchases that are intended to be only one unit.

I have been here less than a year and already have two free homes which I think their storage is more than the 250 requested. Just a thought.

Anyhow, hopefully, Zenimax figures out the server load issues and can work with us on storage. It is in their benefit to alleviate the furnishing storage issue since it can have an effect on crown store furnishing sales.

@Vaoh nailed it! One 'master' attunable table for each crafting profession. I'm so sick of full service guild halls that look like a warehouse / sea of tables. The current system has been horribly outgrown with the intro of jewelry crafting and the neverending addition of more craftable sets.

Before they add such an item that would clearly be costly they need to create actual guild halls that are tied to the guild instead of a player. I would not waste anything on such an item that will essentially be the possession of another player.

A master attunable table need not be costly. I envision you would still buy the 'rights' to add new sets. When a new set comes out, instead of buying 4 new tables, you simply buy 4 'tokens' that you can apply to your existing master attunable table (one for each craft). Just a pinch of ingenuity and creativity could figure out how to transition the old system to the new. For example, if you buy a new attunable table, it is already attuned to the existing tables you have so you can junk your old tables and smoothly transition to the new system (and gain a whole bunch of housing slots!).

Unlimited isn't feasible -- some players will stack so much stuff it might make the house unable to load at all. And while not huge, there is still disk space taken up by virtual items.

The limit should be higher though.
