Would be cool if I could place my other characters around my homes. I like to build them their own homes fit to their tastes, would be cool if I could drop them in there as an NPC that looked and sounded just like however that character is configured at the moment and put them on a path. Make it seem like they live there when I'm visiting their home on another character.

i think if they want to expand the houseguest system anymore than it currently is, they seriously need to increase the cap on the type of furnishing they fall under

even in the largest houses with ESO+ you are only allowed 10 of those (which includes: houseguests, assistants, non-combat pets, and mounts)

to put it in perspective, just between mounts and non-combat pets im close to 200 total of those (assistants/houseguests probably add an additional 8-10)

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

    I would like this.

On the plus side, it would help "ground" the characters and make them feel like part of the world when not playing them. Obviously, not something that everyone is looking for.

But... they would count against the housing limits, and that is already too low. Additionally, ZOS would lose a Crown sink, unless they sold us our own characters in the Crown Store.

Sadly, I never expect to see this.

i would figure that if zos added this, it would be like a single "mannequin" style thing that you have to interact with to customize to choose which "model" it was using

something like that would need a lot of customization options though (use armor style, use costume/polymorph style, show weapons drawn/sheathed/hidden, maybe an emote to periodically use)

so either way it would be something from the crown store lol

My Argonian character Shuns-the-Knife should be copied as an NPC that throws mudballs at players, in between leaning against a wall and flipping a coin. She can be given dialog such as

    "Wasn't me."
    "It's just your imagination."
    "He went that way." /pointr
"Baths at the inn, 500 gold. Laundry service, 1000 gold."
"Redguard makeup for sale. Free samples. Secret ingredients. Unique application method. Lots of satisfied customers."

She should be positioned where she can throw mudballs at people behind herself, then go instantly back to /leanbackcoin. Good places to put her would be

    1. Just outside the southern gate to Davon's watch, on the left side as you are looking into the city.
    2. Just outside the blacksmith station in Daggerfall, also on the left side as you look in.
    3. Just outside the woodworking station in Daggerfall, ditto.
    4. In front of a pillar outside of the crafting area in Vukhel Guard.

Reactions of players have been mixed, from amused approval for role-playing cleverness to indignation at having their clothes dirtied up for 20 seconds.

The NPC version of Shuns-the-Knife would only appear at certain times, or perhaps randomly, and wouldn't be around continuously. Some sort of schedule could be worked out.

"Argonians have fat, scaly tails." —Rissa Manyclaws.
"Once upon a time there were three sisters: Delicious, Delightful, and Disgusting. Now, Delicious and Delightful were both very pretty girls..." —Brendalyn Jurarde.
"I smell to the nobility." —Indrasa Avani.
"A bargain with an animal is not a contract made." —Haderus Atrimus.
"Redguard makeup for sale. Free samples. Secret ingredients. Unique application method. Lots of satisfied customers." —The Mudball Goblin (aka, Cognac Vinecroft)
"Your armor looks like underwear." —Shuns-the-Knife.

Yes please! And make houses so that all characters can be placed in them (ie 18 slots). I really want a home for all my characters.

    I strongly favor this.

My characters really are a team, sharing almost everything. Housing is no exception.

What I'd really like is the ability to place them but also the ability to swap characters by just walking up to them and interaction. rather than have to constantly stare at a log out / in screen....

    I would so love this!!
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

Wouldn't it be cool if we could write lines for them, choose a voice from a list of options, and some super advanced AI could read our lines without sounding at all robotic? I could have a lot of fun with that.

Maybe 10 years from now... :D

While I'd be all for it, I have to assume this would never be done. If for whatever reason a companion cant be placed with the gear currently worn, i don't see how a character not even loaded could be placed with out a lot of infrastructure. On top of that imagine trying to load in 15+ characters per account as people would make more just to have them to place.

    Your observation may be valid.

They could give us a very small selection of civilian clothes to put our Alt character in, like Mirri and Bastian have, maybe 3 outfits for each gender total.

If there is money to be made, they could do it.
