Any information about adding more character slots?

I understand that it will be taxing on the server and that last time we got it it was because we had a new class, but were there any news about possibly expanding the character slots per server from 18 to let's say 20?
This will be the third expansion without adding character slots, and I understand that this game intends for you to go through everything on one Vestige character, but I feel like people will want to make new characters to use the million motifs, mounts, pets and outfits on, something maybe inspired by the new stories or locations?
I asked Rich on one of his streams last year if they plan on adding more slots and he said that there were no such plans at the moment, but that was before Deadlands, so I am wondering if they've said anything about it since or in the reveal yesterday that I might've missed?

Gosh, I really hope so. I truly enjoy making new characters and I don't want to delete old ones to do it.

I would buy a second account if I could link it (somehow) to my main one. So they shared achievements and the like.

But they can't share achievements afaik?

I've considered buying a second account for the purpose of RP, but the big thing turning me off it is that I'd have none of the Dyes, Styles, Motifs, Costumes, Mounts, Pets, other Collectibles, and so on on a second account. It would be really nice if there was a way to link multiple accounts to share stuff like that and Achievements, but I don't know if there's really any way for them to make such a feature.

I never really understood it, how adding more character slots could make negative impact on performance, yet getting more players or unique accounts into the game/adding more content/houses/cosmetics isn’t. Most MMOs have far more character slots and for game like ESO 18 are essentially nothing.

Yes that is a bit frustrating to have 1 slot left 17/18 and having to chose between an argonian, a new orc and a BRETON

roud it up to 20 to make a nicer number!
24 would be awesome (6 classes×4 roles) but 20 is a good start

I would like at least 24, the ideal limit for me is 36, and at most to get 4 of every race is 40.

Database storage reservation. You have an account with X characters from the beginning, so that space is reserved. Now you can also buy y characters so the database has to reserve some space in soem way in case you decide to buy them. If you increase that number you also have to reserve more space. Databases dont exactly work better the bigger they get.
