New Monstersets:
KARGAEDA'S VISAGE

(1 item) Adds x Maximum Magicka
(1 item) Adds x Maximum Stamina
(2 items) On dealing damage with a Heavy Attack, create a whirlwind that slowly moves forward for 8 seconds, growing 3 meters every 3 seconds. Enemies within the whirlwind take 471 Shock Damage and 471 Physical Damage every second. Allies within the whirlwind reduce their Magicka and Stamina costs by 10%. This effect can occur once every 20 seconds and the damage scales off the higher of your Weapon or Spell Damage.

NAZARAY'S EPAULETS

(1 item) Adds x Maximum Health
(2 items) When you use an Ultimate ability, the closest 6 enemies within 12 meters have all Damage Over Time, Major Debuffs, and Minor Debuffs applied to them extended by 1 second per 25 Ultimate spent.
This effect will not apply to Damage Beams or Damage Tethers. This effect can occur once every 20 seconds per target.

The tether breaks if the target moves more than 12 meters away. This effect can occur once every 12 seconds and the damage scales off your Max Health.

GRIDLE OF THE TURNING TIDE

(5 items) When you Block, you gain Flowing Water for 10 seconds, causing your next Bash attack to deal 3191 Magic Damage to up to 6 enemies in a 10 meter line, and apply Major Vulnerability for 10 seconds, increasing their damage taken by 10%. In my opinion, Nazaray's looks completely broken. The two tank sets look very strong as well. The other two sets are lacking.

    We like new sets to be useful and this is especially true when optimizing for groups.

    However, this set will increase the DPS output we are capable of rn in groups by a massive amount. Like as in all trial records will be shattered with this set being used.

    I don’t like this. Anyway.... waiting for PTS.

    Agree with you on NAZARAY'S. I can already hear PVPers bemoaning that one. But it would be phenomenal for a tank, as long as it extends all of the DOTs and status effects applied by all players, not just by the person wearing the set.

    I don't understand STORM-CURSED. Its a poor man's version of Overwhelming Surge.

    GRYPHON'S REPRISAL is Pillar of Nirn with much more damage over a longer time period and a wider radius. If it scales like Pillar of Nirn does, that could be a really strong set, even with the doubled cooldown. I am very interested to see if that makes it out in that form.

    TURNING TIDE sounds similar to the old Maarselok set, which worked better on DPS builds, but this is actually made for tanks. Could be really good for a dungeon tank

    GLACIAL GUARDIAN might work for a warden tank, but I think I'd rather go with Bani's Torment if I'm going with a tether set

    I honestly don't know what to make of KARGAEDA'S VISAGE. Is this a DD set? It first sounds like a support set, but since it scales off of damage, it can only be effective with a DD. But that cooldown. Oof.

    Storm Cursed looks awesome imo. That’s the sort of stuff I’d love to see more of in promoting builds that are all fire, all frost, etc.

    It will break more than just dot ultimates. Imagine a fully debuffed boss with all dots on them, then first tank Horns with 500 Ult. All dds will start to toggle and only have to spam their spamable and maybe a ground aoe all 10 seconds for a backbar enchant proc. No need to refresh any dots for 20sec. Then the offtank Horns with 500 Ult, refreshing them for another 20 seconds, so dds will just keep spamming. It will even increase resource management, since spamables are usually cheaper than some dots.
    If it goes live like this, we will have a new thrassian meta, possible worse.

    Yeah, will be interesting to see which sets survive long enough to hit the live servers, but at least they all seem interesting. Maligalig's could be a real fun one to run for trash pulls in trials, though I wish storm cursed was a base 'shock staff' thing like brittle is. Would have been a good way to give them a role since fire and frost staves are good and shock, has fallen behind.

    I imagine Nazaray will only affect single-target dots. It says "applied to them (the target)", which things like DK ult and destro ult aren't. It'll still be pretty busted though.

    Both monster sets look pretty strong.

    I actually think Storm cursed might be interesting. No cooldown, unlike overwhelming it can be used at range, and each proc can hit other enemies.
    Could be really strong on a mag sorc with crushing shock. Every time you hit the spammable it has a chance to proc. Every time your boundless storm hits an enemy it can proc. Every tick of wall of elements with a shock staff or every tick of Storm atro.

    With no cooldown on the proc, and enough shock damage skills, you could have this going off constantly. Could be really good in cyro if it can scale up enough, especially with sorc shock damage increase.

    I wonder if KARGAEDA'S may be a decent replacement for False God in solo PvE. The 10% cost reduction is pretty strong and doesn't rely on killing enemies. The damage could be pretty strong with scaling. Cooldown is a bit high though

    glacial guardian is the same general idea as frozen watcher but just better in almost every aspect. feels like a completely wasted slot. still holding out hope that Nunatak is a frost dps monster helm since they said they had 3 monster helms and 3 rewards of the worthy sets coming. But what an insulting set drop for frost users.

    Average trial healer is idk thinking highly 30k while average dungeon healer is 10k.

    But ice furnace applies to all enemies around the target, this only applies to 2 and has a percent chance to proc.

    There is no cooldown on this set though unlike Ice Furnace. So if you use lots of shock abilities it will be a pretty strong set tbh.

    Here’s hoping that eventual third morphs or Spellcrafting will give way more options for slottable Shock (and Frost) abilities.

    Forget PVE...this set on any templar in PVP with Crescent Sweep or its other morph would be way to strong. It needs a longer cool down like 60 seconds or the effects from the set cannot be applied to the same targets more than one time.

    I don’t think that would work.

    The set is very specific, it is similar to the old Aslyum DW where hitting an enemy with Whirlwind would increase the duration of certain DW abilities.

    Nazaray will increase the duration of DoTs and Major/Minor debuffs which are APPLIED onto the target. Wall of elements is not buffed. Entropy is buffed. Etc.

    The only Ults which are buffed are Dawnbreaker, Lacerate, and maybe Ballista.

    Gotta wait for PTS

    Looks awful.
    • It's a DoT for ~2X the amount of the overheal.
    • If you're overhealing, you're likely doing so mainly through HoTs, which would lead to tiny procs.
    • Even ignoring the previos point: Given the cooldown, the absolute cap is unimpressive. (20K over 10 seconds, to one target.)

    Lolz exactly what I was thinking. Necro tank with Zulxhal Champion, Nazaray Monster Set, and heck, we'll just throw War Machine as another example set to buff damage for DPS. Major Slayer, Major Vulnerability, Major Force for about 20 seconds. GG - then juggle that with the off tank or Necro DPS to initially apply the debuff timer. Haha
