I get after a while free stuff isn't the cats meow. I get 80 Free perks from SWTOR in my mail every time i make a character, while yes a lot of those are from subscription rewards. BUT OMG! opening them and banking majority of items in that game every new character is a chore. But I'm not going to deny a company that rewards loyalty to keep playing. It is a nice to even have the stuff in the first place.

Something you don't want and will never use isn't going to suddenly be useful just because it's free. I understand saying people shouldn't complain about the food, posion etc. not being the best available or the hats or whatever not being exactly suited to their personal style, but if someone genuinely isn't using them at all I think it's valid to say that. Yes it's free, but so is the spam mail that gets put through my letter box, that doesn't mean I want it.

Having said that I don't mind most the login rewards and I do use them. I think the only ones I've never used are the research scrolls. My crafter already had everything researched before login rewards started and I've got no intention of levelling crafts on all my other characters. I still collect them and dump them into a chest because it's the quickest way to deal with them, but if I need space in that chest they'll be the first things to go.

I somewhat get what the op is coming from. I remember when we use to get crown crates as a log in reward. The quality of the items we use to get was better. Now we get mostly junk(useful junk) but junk none the less compared to what it was like in the beginning. Granted it’s free, but there is no question that quality has gone down over the years.

I also suspect that endeavors will follow the same path eventually. Over time I believe we will get less and less for completing and the prices for the endeavor items will gradually go up in price.

I have plenty of experience scrolls now for when I level up an alt, yes we all remember when we got crates and stuff but those days are long gone. I don't like it but it is what it is.

To be honest when I came back to ESO I was surprised they even do this, most MMOs don't just give you stuff for logging in.

Sure a lot of it has varying usefulness but as others have mentioned its all totally free so everyone's a winner right?

If a player has no use for the item they can not take it or not use it. I personally don't use the instant research or the PvP items. But to complain about being given something every day for free is beyond my comprehension.

i keep all of the login items i dont immediately need or often use in one of my storage chests in my house

it also helps to collect them by having an addon auto claim the login reward when i log in each day lol

i do miss the days when they had crown crates in the login rewards, as i dislike and generally refuse to buy them 99% of the time, at least the rewards from those can be converted into gems instead of outright destroying stuff like the crown poisons

if they arent going to give us free crates, they could at least let us convert the unwanted rewards into gems or endeavor seals

I am pretty sure that they are widely collected. This month, the 100k gold is going to have a lot of people collecting at least 21 of them.

That said, I think it would be OK if they discontinued the practice and just went with the Daily Endeavors.

Otherwise, yeah, we could use a few new things. I vote to get rid of the poisons. The only reason I use then is for the Daily Endeavors that require poisons. I have thousands of them to use for that, so I am good for life.

That is one benefit of addons. I missed them many times on the PS4 because I forgot to grab them. Now my addon automatically grabs them. The consoles should have the same functionality!

To be fair we then had long threads complaining that the crates only gave junk. It was delayed disappointment - players got some time to imagine they might get something awesome from the crates - but it usually ended up being no better than what's in the login rewards now.

I did get some stuff from free crates which I actually use (including an apex mount - the psijic horse), I also got a lot of junk I've never used. I'm also as far as I know the only person to contact Support and ask them to delete a crate reward from my account - because it was a spider and just having it in the collection menu freaked me out.

The same is true of login rewards, some of them I use, some I don't.

I'd prefer them to just give gems rather than crates, but that's very unlikely, especially now we've got endeavours.

I got a mount (different ones) on both PS4 NA and PS4 EU back then. I think the main problem now is that they are so wimpy in comparison. Not much motivation to login for them, except for those of us who want everything.

I think they greatly lowered the mount drop rates. I wasted a chunk on bunch of Crown Crates during that sale since I have so few mounts on the PC and I only got one Apex one and 1 or 2 lower ones. And that was only after a bunch of them. I wondered if they jiggered the drop rate for those to get people hooked on buying them. It then failed, so they haven't been featured since. I have no evidence beyond my own experience for those. I never got anything useful out of the single ones we got, it was the set of 3 that gave me the 2 mounts (on different servers).

What? 100k is an amazing reward
Plus i use the purple pots and save insane ammounts of gold thnks to crown repair kits

Yes, because a game with very few gold sinks should always dump another 100 million gold into play to stabilize the economy. I remember when 100k gold was actually worth something, now its just a down payment on a motif.
