What happens to my CP / Bank when I delete all my characters?

Title.

I want to make tabula rasa on all of my characters on PlayStation and start from 0. But I don’t want to lose my bank inventory and champion points I already earned.

So… can someone tell me what happens when I delete all characters? Do my champion points get back to 0 and my entire bank is wiped? Or does the stuff still exist (like bank unlocks etc).?

Why do you need to delete characters, just reset skills, attributes and CP, then save the build. Use scrolls, the temple etc. may cost a little bit of gold, but so what. If you are truly set on deleting characters, delete all but one, create a new character, save the build then delete the remaining hold over. Last point, you do realize that the armory builds are character to character and not account wide, right?

Pretty sure I did this on an alt account at some point. Didnt lose CP or the bank stuff.

you would only lose items which are on the deleted characters (equipped or in bag)

stuff like bank, craft bag, CP, housing storage are unaffected

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

I have no idea. But if it were me, and I was going to go scorched earth on my account, I would move everything into my bank and I would probably save one of my characters just in case. I would then create a new character, make sure everything is there, and only when I was satisfied that everything was working, would I delete the last of my old characters.

That said, never delete a level 50 character unless your character slots are all full and you want another. If nothing else, park them for storage and crafting writs.

Why I want to do this: I want to feel attached to my characters. I have absolutely no feelings towards a character that has been untouched for months and months. I deleted a dozen of max level characters already in my time with ESO. Getting to 50 is easy. That’s why I don’t care about deleting them.

Plus, for every character I have a specific class, race and name combination. And on my PlayStation account they don’t match. This means: they need to get deleted.

If you want to be safe, just delete all but one character. Make your new character, then go back and delete the old character. This way your character count never falls to zero. Make sure you vendor all their loot and put in the bank too before deleting them.

The there are only 3 instances where you could lose everything. First is deleting a character. All research, mount training, achievements, motif and recipe knowledge is lost as well as anything your character has equipped or in inventory. You still maintain the benefits of any dyes or momentous unlocked that are account wide.

Second instance is guild deletion. If you use a guild bank for storage or other stuff and you delete the guild (all members must be booted first) you lose all gold and items in the guild bank.

Account deletion. You have to file a support ticket for this.

Basically you really have to try to wipe your account.

Don't really get the point just create a new character and play that character, not like you can use all your existing characters at the same time, so whether they are deleted or just not being used should not make much difference to your plans except if you find yourself not enjoying the new character you don't have to regret deleting all the existing ones. Or have to chase up support in the hopes of undoing your deleting spree.

You can roll new characters with the same name and simply add a surname. For example, if I had a character called Fred I could either delete that character and create a new character called Fred, or I could keep the original character and create another one called e.g. Fred the Second.

Thank you all for your advices regarding this topic, but I know exactly what I need and want to do. It just boils down to the questions raised in the original posts.

I have 5 level 50 characters left to delete and I’ve run out of deletes for now, so I still have five more days left before I get to the last one and need a definitive answer, lol.

I did that once, as long as you have everything in your bank, you don't lose anything.

Why do you need to delete characters

Appearance or Class change. The former can only be done with real world money, which is just bad on ZOS's part. (ESO is the only MMO I have played which doesn't have an in-game barber shop system you can use gold at to change your appearance. It's just so bizarre to me).

Why can't you create at least 1 of your new characters before you delete the last of your old characters? If it's a name conflict thing, just delete the character with a conflicting name first, instead of last.

Also, it's not really a clean slate if you're keeping your bank and CP.

Also, the more I think about it, the more this sounds like some sort of account selling plan.

Yeh, agree with all of this. Good advice.

Even keep one or two, put basic gear on them and do daily normals for transmutes when you need them. Which at some point, you will. Being able to do 3 or 4 dailies is a huge boost to gathering them. By far the quickest way.

Why is it so hard to just answer the questions raised without overinterpreting, projecting or trying to question the intentions? Please look at my forum account, how active I am here and then accuse me again of trying to sell my account. I don't need advice or therapy on why I want to do this, I need simple answers for my questions, which were partially already given - so thank you all for the helpful responses.

You can also create fake character with name like "sdhf9uefjkabsuibebnfds", delete all old characters and when you will make first real character and your delete options will refresh - then you will delete fake one. I assume that you don't need all slots instantly?

Exactly. Why take the risk? You can remove characters one by one.

I'm done with this game because of ZOS pushing us into Vengeance, because they don't know how to fix Cyrodiil.
