Wrathful Strikes vs Biting Aura

I play a PvE MagPlar High Elf. Why would I use Wrathful Strikes over Biting Aura? My jabs are an AoE. My class abilities are Magicka not spell damage. So why would I need/want higher spell damage?

haelgaan✭✭✭✭✭Spell damage increases your magicka damage. That said, I would go with Biting Aura over Wrathful Strikes on a magplar... I only slot Wrathful as an alternative to Backstabber, when the dungeon or trial doesn't support flanking/back positioning.2 -

Or when you’re exceeding crit dam cap, which comes sooner on a templar due to class passives.3
