Quick question regards Hirelings on an alternative character

I've had a look on google but wasn't able to find a definitive answer so here goes (apologies if it's a really stupid question)

I have my main character and he is maxed out on the Hirelings skill lines (Woodwork, Blacksmith etc) and so I receive regular emails form them with items.

I have now started to use a different character and I'm about to allocate some skill points. Yesterday - I added a skill point to the Blacksmith Hireling, and so when I logged in today with that character, I expected to see an email - but there wasn't one.

Is this correct behaviour - as in the hirelings only send 1 email per account rather than per character? If so, there seems little point in me investing skill points in my alt character if I am not going to get 'extra' emails.

Thanks in advance.

    It's per character.

I think its 24 hours from when you slotted the point, and then every 24 hours (so long as logged in). If not it will be first login after 24 hours which restarts the 24 hour timer

When you put the point into that other character, you should have gotten a mail the next time you swapped zones, or even logged onto another character. The mail system is wonky and won't send it right away.

You likely got the mail when you logged to another character and perhaps didn't realize you had received it.

But, you should get a mail 24 hours after the time that you received that mail yesterday.

when you max out the passive for hirelings it also changes the timer to 12 hours, so much more likely to see hireling emails when you log in the toons

even my non crafter toons have hirelings because its free mats and doesnt require a large investment of skill points

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

Is the requirement to change zones in order to get hireling mail still valid after the latest mail changes? I mean you know how you get mail immediately after buying from guild traders now?

Just curious, I have them maxed out so I get them when I log in each day regardless.

It's not really necessary, but it sometimes takes quite a while until the new mails appear.

If you have multiple characters, you don't need to wait for the mails to appear, you can log out and log into the next character. I usually empty/open my hireling mails when I'm on the last character in my list.
