Ring of the Pale Order and Companions

I have two questions regarding combining the Ring of the Pale Order and Companions. I don’t have the Ring yet so I can’t actually test these myself.

1. When you have the Ring of the Pale equipped, do you still receive healing from your companion or is the companion considered another player and that their healing is blocked as well?

2. The ring specifies that for each person you are grouped with, it negates the healing received by 4%. Do companions count as a group partner and reduce the healing?

Thanks for anyone who takes the time to answer these questions.

I long thought it wouldn't but to my shock companion healing counts either as your healing or NPC healing and thus bypasses the Vampire and Pale Order Ring outside healing negation.

As for the second question I believe it's a yes. I ran a nBRP last night with a single friend and we had both our companions out. The healing from the ring was very low during that.

i have not tested that, but in most game mechanics, companions are not counted (if your using a companion in a vet dungeon, you can still get "no death" achievement if your companion dies)

there are also many other mechanics that affect players that do not affect companions, so for the most part ive just been treating them almost like a sorc pet (just one you can only have out if there is room in the group)

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

Pretty much, yeah. Although if you have Critical Surge the Pale Order Ring is a bit overkill imo.

Would you recommend any other mythic items to replace the Pale Order Ring? Ring of the Wild Hunt looks nice but I would prefer something DPS oriented.

if your in combat a lot, death dealers fete is pretty good raw buffs (it adds like an additional approx 3000 to max stats (hp/mag/stam) at max amount of stacks, which is basically like an extra tri-stat food buff)

malacath band of brutality is still OK, if your not running a crit build, but it was nerfed quite hard

belharza band is OK if you want to boost your light attack dmg for weaving (as this also stacks with the buff from maelstrom staff and any other light attack boosts), the other effect is hard to use though (requires 5 light attacks in a row)

there is the harpoon waders kilt (ive never used it, but its another popular dps mythic)

Harpooner's kilt if you are good at evading attacks, Death Dealer's Fete, Wild Hunt Ring, the Markyn Ring of Majesty, or Gaze of Sithis.

I wouldn't go with Malacath's Band of Brutality since Critical Surge functions off critical strikes and you want those hits to hit as hard as possible.

Kindda depends on what for content you're doing. For soloing dungeons you could go for instance for Iceheart monster set or Grundwulf to get more out of your criticals. Or combine two different monster sets with both critical as the 1 item bonus.

So If I have a sorcerer with Critical Surge, Ring of the Pale Order, and a companion set to be the healer, I would pretty much be unstoppable and doing massive damage unless something one-shots me.

For some reason, to me it seems like a “BwahahahahahaHAH!” was missing from the end of this statement 🙂

Best two damage mythics are the Kilt and Death Dealers Fete. Kilt is great if you are in an encounter that you can keep stacks or if humping a target dummy. I pretty much only run it in trials on certain bosses.

Don't over look DDF. Yes the DSA lead is a royal pain to get, but this mythic is awesome. It is my go to in 4 man content, because you will be at max stacks pretty much the whole time. It is also very effective in trials both for damage and survival. The extra health and stamina can save you, and the extra magic is simply more DPS. You should have no issues running parse food with DDF in any PVE content, so it really helps sustain as well. It is also probably the best mythic for a mag sorc in open world PVP.

Those are the 4 mythics I always keep on my main, and on several of my more played alts. 1. Ring of the Hunt (I have 18 of these, every toon has one), 2. Ring of Pale Order. 3. Death Dealers Fete, 4. Harpooners Wading Kilt. If I was starting from scratch, I would farm them in that order.

When solo in serious combat (WBs, arenas, or dungeons): Pale Order
When solo out of serious combat (crafting, harvesting, or just derping around): Ring of the hunt
When in serious group content (Vet PVE content): DDF or Kilt, content/encounter dependent. If I could only have one, DDF all day.
In PVP: Ring of Hunt or DDF, depending on my mood.

Or you run out of magic. In the vast majority of solo content, resources are life. If you stop doing damage, crit surge and pale order are useless. Companion heals are pretty Meh. But yes, you would have very strong passive heals as long as you stay on offense.

Laying down a bunch of dot's on groups, taking a few DD attacks, then recovering with some heavy attacks works pretty well. I found my biggest issue with the ring to be when soloing bosses. You only have one target to proc off of, and if you aren't paying attention and run out of resources, you are screwed, because the ticks from dots aren't so much off one mob and if you are getting hit, you need those big spells to land.

Not if you're primary attack costs health! Vampire and the Pale Order Ring go together like peanut butter and jelly.

    "Pale" Order indeed.
