I would pay extra for...

...virtual land for instanced guild/player housing. A team of blacksmiths, woodworkers, and clothiers might need to work together to reduce build time. Customizable design, perhaps with motifs specifically for architecture styles. Upgrades unlockable. Fully furnishable. Display areas as well as the ability to cultivate some items.

Is anyone else drooling over this idea?

    Exactly.

Plus, that is precisely how I would not want housing implemented. I don't want it segregated from the rest of the game. The best implementations I have seen were where they had various entrances in the city that led to your own personal instance of the house. If I had to venture to a separate area away from the rest of the game, I would never use the housing.

I would also be willing to bet that most people, other than a few die hard crafters, would not like that team crafting idea.

There are addons for that. They aren't perfect, but they do help.

I would pay for maybe a few cosmetic things and race/faction changes but not paying for extra content that is what I pay a sub for...

That's not counting expansions, I can see paying for expansions. As for content and patches and housing ( if added ) little things like that, I am not paying extra for.

I believe player housing will eventually come in the near future without players having to fork out extra bucks other than the $15/mnth fee.

The required $14.99 monthly subscription fee is the thing that pays the developers to create and add new game content into TESO basicly folks!

ffxiv arr did that with guild houses. Cost a mill or so for a plot. Then you crafted the stuff to make a house, furniture, ect.

I would pay extra for the option to buy a lifetime subscription. Man that is the best thing I ever did in LOTRO and TSW. I can play whenever I want and when I go back I always have a ton of store points to play with. :)

LOTRO's implementation of housing was decent. The best by far was SWG, but that was an entire open world sandbox.

LOTRO housing is too out of touch with the universe, you are like somewhere else, even the chat is not part of the region that the housing is in. It would be nice if they had somehow made you feel like you were still in-game when you were in the house. Hopefully that will get fixed.

Hopefully, if they do housing here, they will do something that is a little more inside the game and not like a module that you exit the game to use - which is kind of how I feel at my LOTRO house.

This exactly. The nonsense of double-dipping is sickening and needs to stop. Either have a big cash shop and run the game as F2P, or soak up your monthly subscription fees and provide new content at consistent intervals. End of story.

I came here to say the same. I already paid an extra $20 on the box to get Imperial, and I pay $15 a month. If they were to launch some sort of P2P housing, I'd cash out immediately.

I'd pay $50 a month, for the next year, to see a dev come on the forums and say "Can you please shut up about the auction house? It's never going to happen".

    That'd make my day.

If anything we should all get a discount right now for the game being as incomplete and buggy as it is. I like how Zenimax is working hard on fixing all the problems but the fact remains that there are a lot of problems with this game. Even for it being a new game.
