Doshia levelled down ;(

Hi all,

just read in the patch notes..

Guilds
Anchors from the Harbour: Doshia has had her powers reduced.

why?
It was a tough fight but a doable one! You just needed to attack her at first and then destroy all the spheres moving all the time away from the red regions!

It was not a quest for a level 8 player, but I waited until level 11 and then I killed her at the first attempt! To have Gutsripper and Doshia as challenges for our solo experience was a really nice thing!!

Now if you level down everything that people complain about the game will just be too simple... It is a MMO in an Elder Scrolls environment! This mean you can choose to not do everything and you can choose to wait for a quest and come back when you are powerful enough!

This strategy of choice abouth feeling the freedom of making the quests you prefer is reduced if the bosses are watered down.

I agree with OP. This quest, as well as the Mage guild adventure into Sheogorath's realm to battle with Gutsripper were challenging, but certainly not overwhelmingly difficult.

Both battles were based upon 'Standard MMO Boss Tactics' 101. Against Doshia, you fight the boss, switch to adds, then back to boss. Rinse and repeat. Against Gutsripper, you avoid his clearly marked Charge zone and Tail swipe and finish him off. Aka, 'don't stand in bad'.

I am a little saddened to see a nerf to content already, and this makes me a bit worried about future content being too soft.

I am with you guys. Frustrated with people complaining that it's too hard and now she's been nerfed. I hope it won't be a big one.

The best part of this game is that it's refreshingly challenging. I absolutely love this game and am a staunch proponent, defending in zone nonstop about how much I think it's the next big thing. Putting the RPG into MMORPG again. Perhaps for the first time.

Please don't make this game toddler-friendly.

I defeated Doshia at level 6 with a tank Nightblade, level 7 with a resto Templar. Others too.

Most people who are struggling with this game are refusing to adapt to active combat. No blocks. No dodges. No bashes. If you stand in stuff you're going to get stomped. Otherwise, I am not a competitive professional gamer or anything, but I can handle 3 mobs that are 3 or 4 levels above me with some shrewd decision making. Surely someone who is being more conservative shouldn't have too difficult of a time. My family and I like to do dungeons 2 to 3 levels below recommended. The challenge is so fun. Even if we wipe many times!

Literally you can't lose to Doshia if you take out her healing orbs in time. With A Resto Templar I had to go through like 10 orb cycles and kill her with attrition. She is not difficult. She's not cheap. She's mechanic based.

If you're having difficulty with the game it's not shameful to completely reanalyze your strategies, try to learn or relearn the combat basics, practice WASD movement coordination or practice mouse targeting for adaptive target switching. There are players who came into this without having ever played other real-time-action MMOs (compared to the ones where you just trade hits or kite at best) and that is totally fine! There is room enough for everyone.

I would contend, however, that bringing the difficulty down, rather than helping to educate the struggling players with how they can improve their situations is a real disservice to the game. There are already tons of too-easy games for super casual players. I don't want to see my beloved ESO turn into that.

Have you tried fighting her before you complain about how easy/hard she is now?

I beat both pre-nerf in the Beta and I was disappointed with how easy it was when I met them again in the launch version.

I was looking forward to a tough but doable battle and instead got a couple of cake walk creampuffs in comparison to my first battle with them.

They were balanced well to begin with, not easily taken down, but not impossible either. They should have left them as is and not nerfed them the way they did.

It made a manly tear fall into Crom's beard to see them weakened so to cater to the weak and unskilled.

It's only fair to weaken really low level bosses. The level 30 main quest has a Doshia 2.0 though, who is NOT nerfed.

Its disappointing that Gutsriper and Doshia have been lowered in difficulty. They both were tough fights but could be done solo at level 8 on new characters.

Neither fight is that tough now and I consider them to be to easy.

There are lots of us who still cannot win this fight. Stop nerfing and allow grouping!!!!

I was able to do the quest with characterlevel 6 :). ESO pve is all about preparing, observing and quick-on foot-thinking.

Fought her three more times since the nerf. She is still a tough fight for many people I think.

That boss will be nerfed too until you can beat him withour blocking/dodging and with ignoring the orbs -.-

I fully agree. ESO PLEASE DON'T WATER DOWN THE GAME!!!!! I loved the difficulty of Doshia. I tried 5 times to get it at one level and then went back a bit higher with better strategy and skills and killed her. ESO, your own tips tell the community exactly THAT. "If you can't do the quest or if it is too hard WAIT!!!!" Jeez, I remember when another large mmo did the same thing. Watered the content down for the people who were too impatient to wait a level to complete it or bring a friend to help. Fights like this make the community work together. If I cannot complete a quest I simply wait. ESO does not have to cater to me because I am whining I failed the quest. Of course, I wanted to get it down but it was more of an accomplishment when I did the fight and actually won. I was looking forward to going back there and retrying it with a different character. But if it was indeed made simple and if I just faceroll my character it is indeed no fun for me. I like a challenge.

At the end of the fighters guild quest chain I fought something like Doshia and found out I could break her hold with a standard stun-break.

The fight suddenly became very trivial.

I can see how players would think the fight very hard, as there really isn't a "tutorial to breaking stuns" anywhere. Well... maybe I missed it in Coldharbor.

My sword and shield non-aoe templar got killed 1 time fighting her, but that was when I got frustrated. I organized my brain and got her down with 5% health to spare.. She is tough due to the healing spheres shooting her up to 100% and her spammy aoe attack. Just manage your temper, manage the fight, and learn to block/dodge.

Get Silver Bolts first. It makes Doshia a cakewalk, even un-nerfed. Seriously.
