Question About Altmer Spell Recharge Passive (Channeling)

"When you are using an ability with a channel or cast time, you take 5% less damage"

Does this apply to heavy attacks? I know for many sets/bonuses there is a clear delineation between "ability" and "heavy attack".

Has anyone tested this or know definitively?

    Afaik restoration and lightning staff heavy attacks count as channels. All other weapons count as cast times I think. My testing was using the Mother Ciannait set.

    So you'd get a 5% damage reduction when using a lightning staff?

    So... High Elf Templar with Soulshine and Diamond's Victory set casting Dark Flare, Puncturing Sweep, and Radiant Oppression gets 5-10% damage reduction and 800ish spell damage.

    More like 9% damage reduction, due to diminishing return of cummulated bonuses ;)

    Alright let's throw Mother Ciannait in there for a damage shield, Bastion CP for 15% more shield absorb.
