The reason Kwama don't count as "chitinous creatures" is because they are already considered "insectoid", which is silly as insects have carapaces made of chitin.
That makes me wonder if Guars are considered reptiles or bird-like (like the dinosaurs).
ZOS needs a zoologist on their team.
The person at ZOS who put these "kill x of y-creature" endevors together is not very good at biology, unfortunately. Not only wasps, kwama etc. don't count as "chitinous" (even while droping chitin within the game LOL). There was also endevor asking us to kill "lizzards" and Death Hoppers got counted towards it despite being quite obviously amphibian. If they are not going to follow reality (or common sense) with these, there should be list of enemies which count in endevor's description.

I'll never forgive ZOS for what they did to my little chitinous bois
Arachnids are also chitinous bois. Crabs are arachnids after all.
The lables for these endeavors are very very unclear. All sorts of enemies are not considered "Beasts" either. Only mammals, however Trolls which look like mammals are not considered beasts. I would argue any dangerous animal is a beast.

Didn't get to test spiders, scorpions, assassin beetles. Didn't test dunerippers either but, based on a post above, it seems like they count. According to BenevolentBowd's website, yaghra also count.

Now, I just got the achievement because I killed a thunderbug and it dropped the razor-edged mandible, the last one I needed. So, is the thunderbug chitinous? According to the achievement, yes; according to today's endeavor to kill 10 chitinous creatures, no.

Your user name has "beetle" in it. Things that make you go "Hmmm"!

And it's not likely to get fixed. Every enemy seems to get just one category label applied to it, even if there are multiple ones that would seem to apply (like "insect" and "chitinous"; or "humanoid" or "vampire" or "undead" or... etc). So some enemies will count for one, but not the other. It's just the way it is.

I tried kwarma and those fiery versions of thunderbugs, I forget what they’re called

They consider frogs and salamanders as reptiles... If it's that bad, to expect justice for the chitin crew is too much!
