Oh gotcha. I was confusing starborn and celestial. My bad. Yeah, Not a huge fan. I feel like the standard batch of Crown Crate mounts have really taken a hit since the radiants go introduced. I havent really been into the basic crate mounts since the elemental ones.1 -

Definitely better than some of the last few. I have the Flame, Frost, Storm, Wild Hunt, Dwarven, Gloomspore, and Psijic Bears from crates, (maybe a few others). Between those and the Stripped and Dromathra Senches, I am pretty set for mounts. All of my alts are at the speed cap, so outside of my PVP toon and my Crafter/Harvester, I just dont ride that much.
Per UESP, I don't think there has been a radiant apex bear mount. That would probably get my attention if it was a good one.

✭I dumped 1200 gems on the nebulous horse...was really surprised it was the least expensive one, thought it would be the 2400 gem one since it does look just like a reskin and not a particularly inspiring one. The Ram is also nice but the horse was my preference.

Well, this is why they obfuscate the price by first doing a dollar to crown exchange, then a crown to gem exchange. It keeps people from knowing the true cost of what they are buying.

it takes less than 2 hours to design and implement 1 mount. Zos art development team uses pre existing models... $600 is not even close for the time and resources spent on this mount.
There is no justification for it!

Well, that's if you're buying crates just to get the gems. Which maybe some people do? But probably most people just treat the gems as a side result of an activity that you're getting other things out of. Then one day you notice you have enough gems to buy the item. It's not quite the same.
When my subscription rolls over in a couple days I'll probably buy a 4-pack of crates and see what happens. If I don't get a mount I want I may buy the other senche (the one with the star pattern on its fur) with seals. I also really like the weapons so that's another possibility.1 -

I was actually surprised that the Ram was the middle one. I think the horse looks much much better (especially since the Ram just has generic barding).1 -

But those other gems that are just accumulated were never used for goods. Meaning, they got nothing for them, so money spent nothing gained. Their value does not change. The conversion is still the conversion and the price still the same.

For me the Ayleid Nenalata apex mounts were best — really nice looking with nice idle animations but normal mount animals for the world of Tamriel instead of all these glowy crazy effects. These Celestial radiant apex mounts seem especially loud to me so it’s just as well I could never afford them.

This doesn’t seem that far off, I had around 300 gems going into today and it took the better part of $450 in crates to get everything I wanted and in the end I still had to burn 8,000 seals on the skin that eluded me all that time. Brutal luck with mounts but got the ram early on while aiming for the senche which I had to buy outright with gems.0 -
