Tried multiple times to complete this dungeon solo. Soldiers stop at Swarm Mother and do nothing. No conversation, no movement. I move onto next cave and door opens as I enter. No fight?? I go back to where soldiers were and they have disappeared?? Is there any solution? All advice appreciated.. TY

I’ve not seen this. Been there an hour ago. Xbox platform.

Also, the door after the boss does nothing on spindle1. There is a boss there, but on spindle2. Spindle1 it’s just empty room

From my understanding, after you kill the Swarm Mother, if everything is working correctly the soldiers who have been traveling with you succumb to the whispers and try to kill you in the next 'room', and after you deal with them the door then opens (leading to the other soldiers and onto the final boss). This part I understand is essential to get completion of the dungeon.
    Am I wrong?

You can't skip the first boss of Spindle 1 or you may encounter that issue. You have to kill both to get the next part of the dungeon to progress, as well as a good chunk of the mobs. So if you snuck past stuff, go kill everything.

I go straight for the door waiting for it to open and skip the NPCs where they turn on you, I don't wait for them as its kind of pointless to do so even with the dungeon quest. I do kill all the bosses, for the sake of it since they're easy kills anyway.

Thanks for the feedback. I kill all bosses, but the 'troopies' stand around the corpse of the Swarm Mother like stunned-mullets. One of them holds her head and complains about the whispers. Their leader tells them all to think happy thoughts, but none move or talk to me. I have even pointed out to them that I am not growing any younger as I wait for them to do 'something', 'anything'! However, as soon as I head up the path to the next room they disappear and the door opens .......sigh!!
One would think that after all these years this bug would have been fixed.

You haven't had to kill the soldiers that turn on for a few years now. You can run to the giant door and it will just open. If you're quick enough, you can also run past the adds on the other side before they spawn in, too.

I only had this scene (Fighters Guild members succumbing to Whisperer and turning on you) once during my very first walkthrough of this dungeon. Since then it all works as you described. I've always assumed it's because I don't have a quest anymore, so NPCs don't fully play their parts assosiated with it, and the game automatically skips some parts of the show. It's like Master Pellingare in Wayrest Sewers 1, who appears in the end to cry over the body of his daughter only if you have the quest. I've never considered it a bug - just that some scenes are part of the original dungeon quest. Maybe I am mistaken.

I thought this fight was needed to get credit for completing the dungeon, and I wasn't getting credit for completion because I hadn't completed this fight! I have run it three times now and still not got the credit (I even have the achievement for killing SM and the final boss). I am now officially confused!?
Anyway........enough blather from me about something that, in reality, is utterly inconsequential. Appreciate everyone who has made the effort to comment. Cheers.

This dungeon used to work like you describe, with the quest giver troops turning on the party in the sealed room following the Swarm Mother. It has been bugged for ages now so they simply disappear and the door opens after a short wait. The only thing that should be required to complete the quest after defeating the final boss is to free Sud-Hareem who is bound in a corner of the room.
