I am assuming there are some knowledgeable people on these forums that could help figure this thing out (if it is indeed a false flag), but for that they would need to know exactly which addons and executables you use when playing ESO.

Also, we could narrow the list of suspect addons by using the elimination method by comparing to other players who use same addons but didn't get banned.

I use

(including all their dependencies).

I did NOT get banned.

I'm not saying whether the players are or aren't guilty but it's not implausible that ZOS made a wrong call again...

Anything could trigger this, even an undetected zero-day worm interacting with binaries in memory,
however if something happens, there is a solid reason to check what had changed right before the incidents.
I seriously doubt all suspended players had installed or upgraded theirs PCs/addons, and the biggest change was patch 7.2.7
Still, listing the OS version (is that Win10 or Win11?), Reshade usage, and the actual addons of suspended account could help localizing what could trigger (false) ant-cheat positive.
This was hardly TTC otherwise the scale of issue could be much greater.
I hope the issue would be resolved by Zenimax promptly.

New Minion? The Minion addon installer that I have is 3.0.7 and that was from 2018. Website says it is the same version. What exactly are people downloading that is newer than that?

Reshade is definitely "use at your own risk" and I could certainly see that causing problems with anti-cheat detection.

As this is a "modifying the client" issue, I would not expect an addon to be able to do that. However, if ZOS has a memory management issue (for example) in how they run addons, that could potentially trigger something that detects changes to the client while it is running. If that is the case, certain addons might trigger it, but would not be the root cause of it. All speculation, of course.

The bigger problem with all this is that at least one player has had their account permanently deactivated meaning they can't actually submit tickets asking to appeal. They've posted proof on reddit that none of their tickets are going through. [snip]

False positive bans happen, they're annoying, but it can be understandable. What's not is how damn difficult it is for some people to even get a human to look at their account to appeal it.
