Does upgrading the Armory with another Slot make it available to all of my characters?

According to three online Guides which I have read about the new Armory feature, purchasing an additional slot makes it available to each of my characters. However, when I look at the Crown Store "Upgrades", the description for the additional slot says that it will be available only to the character which I am playing at the time that I make the purchase.

Has ZOS changed its original offer? Or does upgrading the Armory with another Slot make it available to all of my characters?

Maybe this question is irrelevant, at least at the present, because I doubt whether I will use the Armory feature since it does not save the Mundus Stone(s) which currently buff the character when I create a build. And it is very unlikely that I will pay at least 9,000 Crowns to add one slot to the Armory for each of my six characters.

By the way, the forum editor software does not allow me to insert the URL for an image -- when I attempt to use the feature, it simply does not work. What else has been reduced in utility and value that was previously possible with ZOS?

Yes, that is a good point. Although, most of my characters have just one role in a group. One is under development as a tank, one is already an accomplished healer, and the others are veteran ranged DPS or melee DPS. The second slot is used to equip a couple of them for rapid harvesting of crafting materials, such as Herbs. Still, three slots would be nice, if only for keeping one open to "respec" a character without paying GP for it.

But Zenimax is capitalist to the core. They deliberately make it clear that every player should and must pay something for just about everything. That forces players to adopt ways and means of getting Gold Pieces as they "play the game" -- never mind Real Dollars to buy Crowns. As though not having to do that to play an effing game would be just too much of a fantasy! The ever-present, oppressive reality of greed infects every human activity and every aspect of our lives, doesn't it?

No, it doesn't. It's just for that character.

As far as I'm aware, the slots were always one 15-ish dollar upgrade for one character.

I primarily use it for a soft reset in the first slot that has all the essential passives and skills I would use in every build so I can always go back to it and recollect excess points. Then the second slot is a hard reset to clear everything, basically you never have to use a respec shrine again as it'll always be free with the Armory Station.

Oh, really? I bought two thinking it unlock them for all of my characters. And even so it seemed too expensive.

That's too damned expensive for such a minor upgrade. C'mon ZOS, this one is a bit too excessive.

They work the same as outfit slots, its per character not account wide for whatever stupid money grubbing reason.

Its per character just like the outfit slots. Way over the top expensive. I would never purchase one for 15 bucks for a single character.

If they had done it for the entire account, I'd have easily purchased 4 armory slots and 4 character slots by now.

It's not a minor upgrade. It's better then a character slot, as you don't need relevel everything. It's the best convenience update ESO has done yet.

I did normal dungeon/solo in one slot and vet dungeon/trial in the other with the idea you can expect buffs and healing in one but better have some of your own in the other.

This is what keeps me from spending money on things like outfit slots and armory slots.

It that were the price for unlocking a slot for each character on the account, i would by several. Since that is the price for one on only ONE character, it's just not worth it to me, even on sale.

They'd have to knock off a zero for THAT to make me by the one per one slots. 100 crowns for a single slot seems way more appealing than 1000 for that. 1000 crowns for a slot on each of my characters? Easy money on Zos' pocket.

This. I think I will stick to add-ons for saving builds.

    Haha, no.
Just think about how well this would have gone at a boardmeeting.
Designer: "Hey Boss, we have this new mechanic. Its really cool, everytone will want to buy it at least 5 times.!"
    Boss: "Per Character? Ka CHING!"
Designer "No, we thought of making it an accountwide unlock"
Boss: "So you wanna cut our profits from this by 80%?"
    Designer" "..."

Thing is, if it were account wide, I would have bought two or three for sure.

The way it is now, I won't even buy one.

Same with the outfit slots….it should be account wide. Soon as they said it was per character, instant no from me. Might be the point if they did state the server is having problems with storage/load space.

If you have a large number of characters you can do what I do, I play maybe 5 of my 18 characters on a regular basis, so on all the ones I don't really play, I used the second slot and dumped all the points into their crafting skills to increase the odds of getting gold writs when I do my daily writs.

I bought 2 on my main and will be buying 2 more when I have the gear I want for the next two builds. I love this new feature.

Crafting/Gathering build. I run faster, get node done faster and get way more matts. Also more matts on decon. Doing a survey I have gotten up to 56 matts on a single node.

PvP and PvE healer builds, no longer need to respec to do PvP or PvE healing. I can do both.

PvE DPS spec. So awesome to be able to DPS on my main.

Next will be a PvP DPS build and a PvE tank build.

This Armory is just designed for Warden life :)

You are absolutely right. If we have to pay for additional Armory slots with Crowns, then the upgrade to add an Armory slot should be no more than 450 Crowns, if that many. Further, each additional slot should become available for each and every character, regardless of the price for the upgrade.

What's the point of having a maximum number of Armory slots as high as TEN, if the cost of adding eight to the two "free" ones is so high that very, very few players are likely to spend so much to buy even one additional slot for ONE character, let alone eight slots?

Many players have several characters, and some far more than the ten which can be created without paying Crowns to add character capacity. If each Armory slot that we bought increased the number of slots for each and every character, we would certainly be more inclined to buy one or two more. As it is now, who wants to go there?

The high cost of the current scheme leads me to suspect that the "upgrade" offer is not sincere, and the price is a deliberate dis-incentive. On the face of it, ZOS and/or Bethesda would prefer that we be satisfied to have two Armory slots for each character. After all, each slot does require more space to store the data pertaining to it on the mega-server system. It also requires more CPU usage to retrieve the data, process it, and record any changes to it. Whether that justifies charging 1500 Crowns per slot per character seems unlikely.

It seems to me that you are comparing apples and oranges. Every "slot" is not the same as all of the others.

Certainly, The Armory per se is a significant feature for ZOS to add to the game software. But providing only two storage "slots" for each character's builds makes it less beneficial than three slots would be -- whether anyone needs more than three slots for one or more characters, and would be willing to buy an additional slot(s) with Real Money qua Crowns.

The role of The Armory in the game has already been implemented in various aspects by at least three different add-ons. On the face of it, most players who use those add-ons don't have any incentive to use the native Armory feature which ZOS has implemented, with just two slots for storing a character's builds (among its other limitations).

This addition is like the native Guild Store feature that was so poor -- in the original software -- that I doubt anyone ever used it to sell anything, instead of using one of the add-ons that were developed. (Awesome Guild Store is legendary among TESO add-ons.) Even after ZOS improved the Guild Store UI, the resulting design remains deficient in several ways, and the way that one aspect of it works is more like a bug than a feature. So I suppose that the only players who use it seldom sell anything via a Guild Trader. But it is more-or-less adequate to shop for and purchase items which they want, such as furnishings for their homesteads.

Funny and I use the add ons in tandem with the Armory System and get more play styles out of each Armory build. I could use a larger dressing room add on :)
