To clarify: it seems from reading the post that they were scammed out of gold, not crowns. It doesn't make it any less a theft, mind you.GrahamJoyce wrote: »It sounds like whoever initially responded to the ticket either didn't read it or didn't care, which isn't cool. I think OP deserves more than the response that they received, especially considering that crowns are paid for with REAL MONEY and crown scamming is equivalent to real world THEFT.

Yesterday a player scamed me 1.5m, I trusted him because he was friend of a guildie, I did not even expect to get my gold back, I just wanted to report the player.
And yet I can't get my mill back smh...

It's not universal, was scammed just once myself for a bigger summ couple months ago and got nothing, no "investigation ended"email or such. So it's probably just a matter of who got your mail to "investigate", some can get lucky I'd guess.

The Elder Scrolls Online Team response on 11/25/2021 02:55 PM
Greetings!
The player market in The Elder Scrolls Online is a "buyer beware" market, and we are unable to provide any compensation or reimbursement for a trade or mail scam that occurred in-game.
Scamming is a violation of the Terms of Service, and we treat any reports of scamming very seriously. To protect individual privacy, we do not disclose the outcome of our investigations, and all disciplinary actions taken in-game and on the forums are private.
Regards,
The Elder Scrolls Online Team.
So what your telling me is that you really don't take scamming in game seriously? and scammers get to walk about free and what you lose is your own fault and you should not even try to buy crowns with gold in game?????????????

Could it be that there is more to officially supporting the 'crown trade' than simply coding it in the UI?
When it comes to legal and liability matters what might seem obvious to the non-initiated if you will more often than not turns out to be not obvious at all and in fact has implications that one would have never thought of.

Other games that offer this service have secure trading. To the point where I've been playing games for years and years and haven't seen a worse situation. They usually have some secure way to do things in game, or they don't allow it at all.
This half measure by zos is not acceptable.

This outcome is a huge blow to the crown market community and undermines the trust between players and towards the company itself. Zos earns money from this and should resolve scam reports.
