ESO to getting custom worlds

I remember Fallout 76 custom worlds being really badly received. There was nothing progression based about it and the fact they took out Nuclear winter for this system felt like a downgrade to me. It just didn't warrant caring about.

As a console player, the game before one Tamriel was bad.

4/5 of the map was irrelevant.

I don't know what you mean that towns were busy. You ONLY saw your own alliance. You couldn't interact with 2/3 of the player base in overland.

Yeh, voice chat is used less, but I think that's the text chat being added more than anything else. Maybe highlighting that people used voice chat because they had to.

It's still there, people just must prefer text chat. Plus you can hang out on guild chat and still communicate with people in the zone.

And how did 1T drive out casual players? 90% of people I see are what you would call casual. Abs how would more freedom of where to go and more players to interact with hurt casual players?

Pretty sure the player base BOOMED after 1T. It got way more popular the second year of console than the first.

I'm really not sure what the issue is tbh.

This is my experience as well

I'm assuming by custom worlds you mean private servers? I don't see why that would benefit anyone.

Why would someone want to play on a private server where anything they do is irrelevant to their account on the Zos servers?

As a roleplayer I would definitely consider it if it was a whitelisted RP server, bonus points for more accessible housing and less NPCs/mobs. Although it would depend on whether my community would make the move as well.

    Somebody has their history wrong.
ESO wasn't changed for consoles, I was Veteran level at console launch and transferred from PC.
One Tamriel was done to save the game on all platforms.
Now what was done for consoles was they dropped the mandatory subscription so console players didn't have to pay twice and PC players benefited from that.

Maybe it’s me, but I do not understand what the OP’s point is.

I play on console, have done since before 1 Tamriel, and there are oodles of players on PSEU, always have been - old, new & returning.

@HisShadowX please clarify if this is correct.

The OP believes that One Tamriel made the game too hard which caused most of the casual players to leave because he noticed a decrease in voice chat around the time that One Tamriel went live. Text chat went live on consoles with Update 11 just before One Tamriel went live with Update 12, which probably led to this assumption.

But actually One Tamriel made the game more casual friendly by eliminating the veteran zones of Cadwell's Silver and Gold and toning down the difficulty of Craglorn, and the decrease in voice chat was probably due to more console players now using text instead.

Without the 1T update, this game would no longer exist IMO.

I somewhat agree with this. That one update both brought players back and got many new people to give the game a try.

One Tamriel was an amazing patch.... from rebalancing, to putting 3 sets in every zone/dungeon, to bug fixes. Major cities are plenty busy as well.

The only complaint I’ve ever seen is that Overland difficulty is too easy. Maybe one day zos will let us counteract that issue but overall, if we have to choose between easy vs moderate difficulty in Overland, ESO is better off with easy. ZOS has all the data on population to prove that.

The only complaint I have is that 1T kind of muddied up a VERY well written and laid out storyline. Every expansion/DLC has added to the muddiness.

I can actually talk to main storyline NPCs and get quests from them (Abner, Lyris, etc,) before I reasonably should. The prologues just sadden me, I can actually save and kill Verandis in the Western Skyrim / Reach Storyline before I save and kill Verandis in the Rivenspire storyline and I find that vexing.

Other than that, 1T ADDED to the game experience - it did not push anyone away.
