correct me if i m wrong:
Brutality - weapon damage - this is not just LA/HA but all offensive skills consuming stamina while your weapon is not a staff
Sorcery - spell damage - spells or abilities with a Magicka cost
Berserk - all damage be that weapon, spell or elemental damage, anything which is not a proc and not an Oblivion damage

And they are not mutually exclusive, they stack with each other.
Brutality : Increases weapon damage by 20%
Berserk : Increases all damage by 10%

To the stacking aspect. Same effects do not stack, different ones do, as above. So, Major and Minor Berserk would, but two Major Beserks would not

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

    Empower buffs your HA/LA.

Brutality/Sorcery increase your weapon/spell dmg, that consist most of LA/HA and half of your skills dmg.

Berserk increase dmg you are doing, so in case of most skills: weapon/spell dmg + stamina/magicka.

thank you, i was wondering if brutality was better because 20%

idk how to get major berserk , but it looks strong!

Note that "20% weapon damagee" increases your weapon damage stat, not actual damage done. The weapon damage stat is just a number that becomes part of a formula that eventually calculates your actual damage with stamina-based attacks. Since most stamina-based attacks scale on a combo of weapon damage stat and max stamina, Major Brutality will not be a true 20% increase in your actual damage.

Yes, major brutality/sorcery increasing your total weapon/spell dmg, except Bloodthirsty, so it is good to have it cause of buffs.

So basically, taking for example NB Concealed Strike - because it has perfect coeficiency (you can find more details at UESP Skill Browser):

Having 3k spell dmg + 30k magicka give this skill 6k dmg.

    Add brutality: 3k sdmg + 20%=3600 dmg + 30k magicka - 6600 dmg.

    Add berserk: 3k sdmg + 30k magicka = 6000 dmg + 10%=6600 dmg.

In both cases, even with penalty, results should be similar.

So generally the only difference will be to invest in brutality/sorcery when you have proc dmg sets, but for more crit/skills builds, i would say berserk is probably better.

tl;dr = Major Berserk is stronger, but you can stack them, and Major Brutality is a lot easier to get.
Is that based on actual testing or just a wild guess? I just did some quick tests for a pve stamina necro and not having major brutality seems to be even worse than not having major berserk.

My bad. I thought Major Berserk was 20%, just like Major Brutality. The 20% Major Brutality will be stronger than 10% Major Berserk because weapon damage stat generally influences damage more than max stamina. It is not 10% from weapon damage stat and 10% from max stamina. While it varies based on your weapon damage and max stamina stats, it is fairly common to have 60%+ of your damage come from weapon damage stat, which would make Major Brutality a 12%+ buff to actual damage done.

@Dagoth_Rac No, it used to be 25% because I recall running Heem Jas and it being a beast
