I run my achievement runs and more or less competitive dungeon runs with same friends, so the times i run with pugs, is with my healer or tank and i never do veteran dlc with pugs.

But still i just can't understand, how people don't know even the simpliest of mechanics and just stand on aoes and blames healer...

It's not one or two times i just give up and leave, when dd's just keeps hitting the lurcher boss in moonhunter keep and lets the spriggans heal, even if i say what to do.

Or lowbie dd's kill the three spiders in Fungal Grotto II and bissfight goes on like forever.

Or people shooting themselves dead against the netch in darkshade caverns II

    NB enthusiastic:
    1. Woodhippie stamblade - DW hard-hitter / PvE
    2. Know-it-all elf Magblade - Healer / PvE & PvP
    3. Hate-them-all elf Magblade - Destrostaff AoE monster / PvE
    4. Cyrodiil-Refugee stamblade - Stamina Tank / PvE

    Go dominion or go home

Nightblade-Hipster. I played Nightblade before it was cool - from 1.5 onwards.

Really nice run in Frostvault last night, tank very patient and effective. A player hadn't done the quest but it was a nice patient and friendly group.

I pretty much exclusive pug random vet.
People seem totally out of touch with just how .. well.. bad? the average player really is.
They see 90k parses in their guilds and 100k parses on youtube and think the average joe should atleast be able to do 70k

    Well.. Not so much.

From what I can tell average single target DPS in dungeons is between 10-20k. This is perfectly acceptable for normal but for vet runs it becomes a problem and mechs needs to be followed to a T if DPS is low.

Joined a pug with a micromanager tank played by a vociferous young karen and her simp and friend. The simp echoed what she said on the mic every time as if it were gospel. The karen said she was teaching the simp how to tank or something.

They all died to the mammoth boss & I proceeded to solo it on my sta sorc. The karen blamed me constantly for everything that went wrong. I just kept playing & I suspect that simply ignoring the karen made her angrier.

Eventually booted me and I went on with my day.

This so much ^^ I see people go like 'well for vet dlc group dps should be like 70k single target at least' and I'm like uhhhhhhh...in pugs, I'm happy if we have over 40k group dps because sometimes I won't even have that if I'm the tank. Lowest I've made stuff work with in vet dlc's was around 30k group dps, I have actually completed vFV before Vault Protector nerf hammer with that much, but it took over 2 hours and we had to follow all the mechs to the letter. It was actually sorta fun because everyone was nice, friendly and really tried, it was sorta like doing it on uber HM on all bosses and trash pulls lol.

It's not just dps too, it's just most noticeable. Healers who even apply Ele Drain in pugs are like 1/10, it's crazy - sometimes they actually have healy sets, Sentinel monster set, etc, but no Drain, no orbs, no anything. And you ask if they're running it and they're like wat's that? Tanks who bother to chain mobs in are like 1/20, if I pug on dps I might as well slot Silver Bolts myself with my 10k stam.

Astonishing number of tanks also doesn't realize when/how to block too and dies despite having 40k+ health. I once got a tank like that in vUG while being on dps, we managed to wipe on the spinny air atro boss because the tank couldn't see his heavy coming, didn't have the addons to tell him that and evidently couldn't permablock so he'd die every time the boss did a heavy. I ended up literally tanking it on my dps with 20k health and 10k stam - worked fine because I dodged every single heavy he did (until I ran out of stam, that is, but the boss was almost dead at that point).

All that said, I still do enjoy pugging vet dlc's, it's refreshing, can be fun, and you never know what you'll end up with:) Gives a taste of unknown to those dungeons you've run hundreds of times.

I just did vAC HM and had the two DD's stand in red and die... then refuse to be rezzed.

The healer got pissed off and quit so I had to solo the final boss on my tank that does 7k dps.

After I managed to do it, I said in chat 'Some advice... you are not ready for vet content' only to be told in russian to 'f*** off'

    Unbelievable.

The undaunted event is here! Let's hear some good stories!

I roll into a random DC1 on a lowbie dd and when group ports in, the healer is rocking a bow, so the tank calls him/her out on it - healer says "they could be healing arrows",
tank asks "... Are they?" ,
Healer says ".....no.... But they could be :D"

Had a solid chuckle and he/she did at least burn through the mobs and waited for us to do the quest :#

I've been thinking of doing most of this event on my Stamina Bow/Bow Warden Healer, actually. I should do it, just to see if anyone kicks me.

I actually unironically roll a Stamina Bow/Bow Warden Healer. It's really fun. I've had a couple questioning remarks but usually by the end of the dungeon everyone's cool.

Nice experience first: daily pledge at some sewer and Sammy died twice (total humiliation) and nice players resurrected this one. No whispers of “gg” or “stupid fat cat”. Was able to repay the favour when another player died.

Not so nice: yes it’s FG 1 and yes (some of) we know it’s speed run but do you really have to aggro the enemies as you speed run, and leave the two newbies plus Sammy to deal with them? As Mirri might say, Don’t start what you can’t finish, you filthy fetcher.

Surprise nice: fake healer not doing healing thing so this one did the job and got some dungeon healing achievement!!!

I was running Lair of Maarselok back when that was new and Z'en was all the rage. I kept getting pugs that were doing like no damage, while I, the healer with a few dots practicing for Z'en uptime, was doing like 50%. The one time I got a group that was decent, I complimented them and they took offense to the whole thing somehow despite the fact that it was a very clear compliment.

I was amused by the unarmed healer punching the enemy. Still threw some trees up, so they were healing.

I’ve been that guy. Tried switching setups and it didn’t swap out my Destro staff for the Resto staff, so most of my abilities were unusable. Made for an exciting boss fight when I’m relying only on class heals.

This actually made me remember a fg run from years ago (before outfits)!
Ported in as DD on a random and the other 3 immediately blast the chat with "we're going naked!! Unequip your armour and weapons or get kicked! :#
It was like 1am, there was wine involved, and I was like " [snip] yeah!!"

Honestly one of my funniest chattiest runs lol and @SammyKhajit this one had to be rezzed a few times too 😅

Yeah, the first person through to the war chief boss can teflon past everyone. They don't care about aggro because they are moving twice as fast as the mobs chasing them and are out of range before they can attack, and they don't care about the 3 trailing behind who are not out of range of attack because... well... why should they? This is a solo speed run.

After the war chief, the only challenge is to avoid aggro on the crabs as you swim past them and jump up to the boss spawn. ZOS should put stairs out of the water there, since that is probably the most heavily traveled part of the back half of the dungeon.

    I've had some bad ones:

    COH1 normal
We got three fake tanks in a row. We got to the bit where you get turned into cocoons, fake tank after fake tank failed miserably.

After kicking each one, we finally got a real tank, after which the dd's then quit. We got two more dd's and steam rollered through the rest of the dungeon. I started tanking myself after that, as I realised that I couldn't do any worse than the first three.

I had got to level 49 on an alt, and got the above as the dungeon for the day. "Great!", I thought, until I got three level 10's as group mates. I was a tank by this time after the previous debacle above, and have never been any good at dps.

The dungeon took nearly an hour to finish.

I'm rolling with my main and get three people who are friends. Two had never done a vet dungeon before and the third wasn't much better. They were a very friendly bunch, so I decided to roll with it for fun.

We fought our way to the final boss, which took a while in itself. Before I could write "don't read the scroll!", one of them does so. They drop like flies.

So I raise them, despite the fact that I am taunting the boss and am the last one standing. They drop again, so we repeat doing this several times. I explain the bosses kill shot, telling them when to block as I have an add-on telling me. I explain that he dd's need to raise if they can.

Eventually they decide to give up on the hard mode, although I still hadn't died. So I stop and let the boss kill me.

We try again, without hard mode this time. They drop again and again, although they sometimes manage to rez each other. I still haven't died on purpose. We eventually get the boss down to 50% and I use my Radient Oppression to kill him. We probably took a good 30 minutes fighting the end boss alone.

    It was good fun though.

Yes, they were obviously new. I ended up putting my regular gear and skills on, to do most of the dps, and I am utterly terrible at dps, which is why I tank.

If they were at least 160cp and that bad, which I have seen, then I would have left. But they were brand new, and I didn't have the heart to desert them.

Best recently: Did an Falchreach Hold HM with an awesome Argonian tank.

An amusing one: On a tank I needed BC 2 quest skillpoint and it was pledge, so queued for it, portal and auto shared quest.
Ended up on last boss. I assume they kicked the fake tank, healer verified that I needed to hold 3 daedrots, one DD said I had to hold more as their dps was low.
Did not think more of that except then I dropped exec daedrots to die in the AoE the DD start running away, they believed killing any of them would fail HM so I just had to grab them and pull them up on the platform and soft taunt them as the number increased to surreal levels supported by an good healer who healed me gave me resources and probably did half the damage :)
I died then boss was almost done, I assume healer switched to burn the boss, who was the smart thing to do.
Well one of the DD asked for nRoM I declined. No it was not much of an issue if the DD understood that tank only has to hold 3 daedrots.

vBC1 is hard on low cp inexperienced players because of the one shot who is hard to spot, I say vBC2 is easier here on an low cp group with an healer and a tank and yes you can face tank it but that is more advanced.

One of the best runs I had was doing COA1 normal. One of the dd's just bulldozed through everything. When it came to the final boss, the rest of watched (I danced) whilst he tore the boss to pieces.

At the end, I asked how long the dungeon had taken. Another group member said six minutes.

Had kind of a fun experience on a healer alt the other day, when a randonorm put me into CoH2. I was apparently the only person who knew about the overlapping aoe mechanic on that one boss everyone hates, so I run away from everybody and then turn around to find them all on the ground. Templar rez passive + Kag's to the rescue, and I get them all up so we can continue the fight. And then it happens again. :D

That's probably the only time the Kag's set I made him has been relevant, but it made me feel pretty cool.

Another DC, this time in the middle of fighting the final boss in Elden Root I (soloing). No WiFi connection. Fix that, log back into the game, maybe 5 minutes has elapsed, and I'm outside the dungeon, dead. Go back in and find out that it's been reset!

Less than 30 minutes left before daily reset and I still need my tickets, so I race to Fungal Grotto I and rush through it.

Best I can figure is that Windows Update decided to check for updates while I was playing, which somehow caused me to lose my WiFi connection. Reason I think that is because it said "Last checked for updates X minutes ago," and that was how long ago I lost connection during Elden Root I.

From now on, I'm putting Windows' frigging updates on pause before I start playing, and not resuming until I'm done playing.
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!

Lol my second time pugging Frostvault today we obviously had a very new tank who died at the start of each fight--poor guy even died as a skevatron. One healer quit halfway through. I don't know exactly what the second healer did because I was having to pop Dark Conversion to avoid death.

The other magsorc and I basically carried them through, including us having to do their jobs as skevatrons. I would have tried to explain the mechanic but I had to rush to pick up someone from work so there wasn't time.

Poor souls were probably wondering what the hell was going on in that place. Oh and I had to kite tank the final boss through execute.
