I do not mind looting left over chests - just items to to sell for gold, and the chest location is marked on my map.

The other day, I looted a left over chest and got a gold lead!!! Definitely not complaining! <3

Back when you could get duplicate leads, I left a lead for part of the Aldmeri music box in a Psijic portal, since I didn't need it. I even sent a message out in zone to come n get it. Don't know if anyone ever did though.

I think another factor is that auto loot is disabled by default for new players (it's been a while since I started out but I remember I had to turn it on manually). So it could be that many newbies are used to picky looting what they see as good value and leaving the rest.

I've been playing since launch and I have yet to turn on auto-loot. I can loot pretty fast without it and it lets me see what I'm getting.

Here is what is bound to be an unpopular idea, but would help. Just put a flag on players that would only allow for 1-2 open containers in the world, and if you left more in your wake, you would be unable to interact with any new containers until the previous ones despawned. Yes, there would be some kinks and rare issues to work out, but that would at least put the onus on the player engaging in the behavior.

This is the kind of thing I was hoping for. Ideas. Thoughts. Solutions. From the player community. ALL Players. It's through doing things like this, Answers can be found.

The same here, I've never used "Auto-Loot", because I like to see if there are items I do get that I don't want? I can clear them out of my inventory, to keep spaces available.

I can see the oc's point as well- but many may also see it, and know it will just keep packing their inventory, so they leave it off.

In this world of go, go, go, and, "I want", this is where, I believe, the problem develops. Of course I get irritated when I take something I'll now have to open my inventory, find the item, and drop. But I still do it, because I OPENED the container, whatever type, which now makes it my responsibility to clear, if I decide to take anything from it, not to pass on that which I was unwilling to do, to another player.

Or create a situation, where my actions now cause another player to have to deal with something, they're not responsible for, or causing them to just move on to the next, now questioning if that node/chest, whatever, too, will be the same.

This wouldn't be an issue, if it "Happened one time, then never again", but that's not what happens as we all know, who are being honest here.

This is something that has been brought up many times. I'm seeing several good ideas on solutions- maybe EOS can find one that they agree might help, and are willing to try.
