Percent Max Magicka bonuses

Hello.%

I am currently in the process of fully upgrading my max magicka nightblade and I noticed that equipping armor reduces actual value of percent max magicka bonuses (i.e. Inner Light, Magicka Flood). Instead of getting 5% and 8% respectively, they give 4.7% and 7.5% with 7 armor pieces equipped. Weapons and jewelry don't affect it; the max magicka value doesn't affect it.

Just putting on armor gradually reduces the percent bonus. 1 armor piece = 7.9% on Magicka Flood, 2 armor pieces = 7.8%, 4 armor pieces = 7.6%, etc..

    Is it the undaunted mettle passive? My quick estimates line up with your numbers for one buff assuming you're wearing all 3 weights.

    Well, it looks like typical ESO reduction due to cummulation of bonuses. But ATM i don't think there are any bonuses to magicka pool from light armour. Maybe they were in the past and they forgot to remove the it?

    While I would have expected the buff from the armor line to have been additive within itself, it seems it may be multiplicative like the rest of the max magicka buffs.

    In case of Inner Light + Magicka Flood, it doesn't matter. Whether you use them individually or independently, they still give 4.7% and 7.5% bonus with full armor equipped.

    I just don't understand this. Magicka in armor sets already provides less damage value than Spell Damage. Why on earth would they diminish the max magicka builds further?
    Almost everything now scales better with Weapon/Spell damage and it's much easier to get those bonuses. Then, slap some regeneration and voila - you don't even need any extra magicka. There's literally no sets for magicka builds that scale with magicka value.

    Has nothing to do with light armor. It behaves the same no matter which weight of armor you put on.

    % buffs do not stack. Did you add them like this:

    • MaxMag0 * (1 + Bonus1%/100) = MaxMag1 --> MaxMag1 * (1 + Bonus2%/100) = MaxMag2 --> MaxMag2 * (1 + Bonus3%/100) = MaxMag3 [Stacking]

    or

    • MaxMag * (1 + Bonus1%/100 + Bonus2%/100 + Bonus3%/100)? [independent]

    Or this:

    Edit: Agreeing with another's player's hypothesis.

    Just tried it without the Undaunted passive. The numbers are correct now.

    So, what I was seeing regarding (7.5% and 4.7%) was the diminishing returns due to additive nature of % Max Magicka bonus. Since they get added first then multiplied, the more % you add, the less incremental increase it will provide.

    The second formula is correct, and I knew it. However, I just forgot about the Undaunted Passive.
