Are there any bookcases that actually fit book furnishings??

Every bookcase I come across does not seem to fit the readable book furnishings we can buy from the Mages guild. Kind of defeats the purpose of empty bookcase furnishings when the top/bottom of the boot sticks through the shelves.

Can't tell you which ones exactly, but their are many shelves on which you can place books. Pretty much every one that doesn't come with books on it I am pretty sure. For the too tall books, I tend to lay them down and stack a little pile of them, since that seems to be how most of my bookshelves at home tend to end up over time. :)

Shelving books drives me crazy in this game. Eventually I end up just lying them down flat.

I miss the auto-shelving that Skyrim had (even though the books would sometimes fall over)... but I know that would require reprogramming of every bookshelf furnishing so I don't expect a change.

I like being able to place books and other items on shelves myself! It can be time-consuming but I can make it look just how I want. The falling over books in Skyrim drove me crazy! The only thing I miss is being able to display weapons, but that’s another topic…

I believe I was able to fit the larger sized books on an empty Alinor bookshelf.

I haven't found any and I think I've checked all of them. The best I've found is the Nord Bookcase, Alcove which is big enough for most books (and can hold quite a few) but it's still too short for the tallest ones, like the Ancient Scrolls of the Dwemer.

Nord and Dark elf definitely. Theres others too but I can't remeber which exactly.

I've had a few projects where I finished what I wanted to do with 50-200 slots to spare and just filled up book shelves for the sake of it.

I thought the Telvanni did, but it's been a while since I used it. Can't remember for sure.

There are some shelves that already has books as part of their model. They might not be the style you want for your house but it saves alot of furnishing space from all the books you manually place on empty ones.

The few books I bought thinking they could be meaningfully and easily displayed are all floating in the air in a junk warehouse home gathering pixel dust.

When I decided I was finished decorating my main house I then dumped 200 books into it and started sorting them out. The same weekend I needed to sort out my real book shelves, which have about 400 books on them. I got the real ones done in a weekend and the virtual ones took me weeks, several hours spread across multiple evenings because just trying to sort them by subject and get them into alphabetical order was complicated and then actually putting them on the shelves took a lot of careful tweaking and replacing the shelves with ones which would actually fit the books. When I started I'd naively assumed any bookcase would be big enough to fit books in, but it turns out some have shelves less than half the height of most books.

I still wanted to use the individual books rather than the rows of fake ones because I like the idea being able to read them (I specifically chose books my characters would be interested in) but it's a pain to get them sorted out.

not checked mages guild vendor in a while, but bought all the original zone ones, and stacked them in the first homes i bought for each (alliance) area the books spoke about.

over time many have shelved or moved about the home(s), some of my first houses still have multiple volume stacks in them cuz well.. arrrgh xD

We should just be able to 'feed' the readable books into a bookshelf, so when you click the bookshelf you see a list of books and can then choose which one to read. Or something like that. It would also help with the item limit. At the moment, if you want to have a home with a library you basically have to get a house just for the library.

A lot of the bookshelves can, but some you may need to slightly sink the book into the bottom shelf using the precision editor. If you do it right, it won't look clipped.

I put some books into the big Alinor bookshelf (writ vouchers) that already has books, and a greenish Khajiit bookcase I crafted with and without pre planted books. I put two Alinor bookcases together back to back to make a double sided bookshelf like you would find in Library stacks. The newer bookcases usually work better than the original furnishing bookcases.

I LOVED the bookshelves in Skyrim! That's what made me pick up every book, and I organized them on the shelves in my libraries, of which have delightful physics to them.

    Sigh. I miss them too.

As someone who enjoyed hoarding books in Skyrim I find it preposterous we don't have better bookshelves. Or mannequins, by extent #rantmodeoff

There are bound furnishing recipes you buy from Atraeum NPC trader as you progress the Psijic Guild story,
they include floating books which fit some of shelves and bookcases.
The books crafted are also bound, so non-tradeable https://eso.mmo-fashion.com/book-row-levitating/
    (and also this one: https://eso.mmo-fashion.com/book-stack-levitating/)
Might be bought at Artaeum if player has access to Summerset, or during Free ESO+ Trial events.

You know, I was really disappointed that that set wasn’t scrolls as the lorebooks that you find are and, more to the point, it would have been awesome to have some scroll furnishings that you could buy for gold.
