Slottable Buffs in Green CP Tree Would be Fun

It would be fun/awesome to see the Green CP Tree expand from being a "craft" tree to also include slottable stars that offer combat buffs.

Major Brutality and Sorcery
Major Savagery and Prophecy
Major Berserk
Major Resolve
Major Evasion
Minor Buffs
etc.

If this were to be implemented, I would definitely have more fun building characters because it would unlock more options in other areas of character building. I could enjoy mixing up the types of potions I use on my builds. I also wouldn't feel compelled to slot skills that just sit dead/useless on my bar (like Inner Light or Camo Hunter in PVE) and could instead slot a fun skill that has a function when I press the button. I wouldn't be so drawn to sets like Dreugh/Rattlecage/Toothrow/Treasure Hunter and would instead opt for more fun thematic sets that fit the flavor of my characters. This really would be amazing and go a long way in making ESO a more fun experience.

it would make already high power creep even higher. Also major berserk and major evasion? For real?

I'll go out on a limb and say that no-one doing any remotely difficult content would consider Dreugh/Toothrow to be a go-to setup. You're wasting 10 set pieces to get two named buffs that can be obtained by chugging a potion every 45 seconds or by slotting two skills.

As for other buffs....that's the whole point of having a highly customisable build. What do I need? What do I want? What are the trade offs? Do I use this set which boosts damage, or that set that boosts survivability? How can we make our group synergise most effectively?

This change would make oodles of skills and sets irrelevant, and would beg the question of 'If everyone has these buffs at 100% uptime, why are we even bothering having them in the game?'

    So...hard no.

Yeah man, I agree, I too hate to have supports buffing me in my trials and having to pick sets, skils and buffs. We should all be dds and just dodge-roll through the damage. /s (in case it wasn't clear)

Seriously though, I get where you're coming from, with wanting more freedom on your skillbars and potions, but to be honest I can't think of any potions that would be more useful that the ones dds currently use, and when it comes to skills you're free to use whatever you want, at the risk of losing a bit of dps. As for the sets you listed, I don't think I've ever seen anyone even remotely close to seriously using them, so that's a bit of a moot point.

What I think the green tree really needs is to make most, if not all, of its slottables into non slottable, always active skills as most of them are QoL anyways. The only one that could have a modicum of direct statistical advantage is "Steed's Blessing", but even then, good luck not getting stuck in combat during any group instance. That could actually free up more slots for red and blue CPs, which are the ones that actually improve your build. I can see how that could lead to more power creep though, so just a bit of a fantasy that will probably never happen.

Buffs become pointless if everyone can have them all the time without sacrificing anything.

No, I think it is a terrible idea, sorry.

Green being crafts and utility is great on its own, just should have less dependencies and more passives.

I do not think we need to worry about this as it is clear Zenimax would nerf CP farther to make up for the added power the suggestion would bring.

Please keep the green tree combat free. It's fun being able to pick useful things for my playstyle taste without feeling forced into certain choices for performance purposes.

Fall damage and out of combat movement speed are already borderline mandatory, I guess in pvp mount speed is too.

I love that the green tree is about thieving, fishing, treasure hunting, crafting etc.

It would be so "fun" that it'd break the already stretched game-play balance in half over it's knee.

While not having all of the effects (evasion and berserk to name a couple) making use of potions can provide access to buffs that you would normally get from sets or power passives, maybe look into them?

there's even a little tool online to help you experement with potion effects here
