So I had the game in 2015 and placed on and off for years after that, but it's been at least a year or more since I've actually played now. So there's several things I'm hoping to get an answer to first:

I understand the champion point system got completely redone? Is it any different or just a new fancy layout? I believe I am CP 6-700

There's a lot of new content, out of all the quest lines, whether part of the base game, dlc or expansion (like summerset) which would you recommend as the most fun and engaging one that will also let me level up swiftly? I always used to pick ebonheart pact so I've already done those to death.

Are classes quite balanced? I recall days where sorcerer would absolutely stomp everything and when in cyrodill it'd be half the players sorcerer's, the other half every other class. Has this changed at all? And would you recommend any particular class that's really fun to make a build with?

I saw vampires got an overhaul. It used to just be primarily passive buffs/debuffs but now it's more akin to werewolves. In what scenario is being a vampire worth it? Can I still use it for just the passives?

Lastly, what's the way to make decent amounts of gold? I used to farm ancestor silk and ores to sell it to guild traders. Is this still viable? I believe I had 1-2 million when I quit but I can never have enough gold imo.

Sorry this is a lot of questions, if you have an answer to just one of them, please let me know, the more info the better!

Khajiit would advise you travel to Elsweyr.

Best food, best views, biggest dragons and many friendly locals.

Also call by Claws Meadow Village for a quick drink at The Cosy Lion if you are in the area.

The CP thing is now three trees - this one mostly cares about the green one for crafting.

This one has no idea what class balance is but most of her apprentices are nightblades.

As for gold - crafting is probably your friend. Level up jewellery crafting and hope for those lucky yellow mats to drop. Though if we knew the secret of making lots of gold we would all be very rich no?

Vampires you say? Now you have frightened this one! Just terrible stories to make little kittens behave. Same as the moon doggies.

Not only has CP been redone but there's also an Armory now. So you can buy an Armory slot which will let you swap CPs quickly, after you buy an Armory assistant of course.

I would recommend Summerset! I love how it just feels like summer all the time there. Auridon is second but I dislike how underdeveloped it is compared to Summerset.

I still see a lot of sorcs in Cyrodiil, but would say NBs are more now. As for balance, I would think pve content is balanced, as always pvp is never balanced because a balance here will be an unbalance for someone else's build so people like to say that pvp in general is unbalanced but it's actually just their playstyle.

A vampire is worth it for the roleplay and maybe the looking cool in pvp or dungeons. I like playing the Daggerfall content as a vampire, I feel like I'm cleaning the world of the bad vampires when I do. I wish the vampire skill line was redone, and I wish I did not look so pasty when I'm running stage 3-4 vampirism.

I don't think there's any way to make gold except for farming mats so other people with gold can give you some gold for you to buy someone else's mats so they can buy mats from someone else too.

    CP is all new.

I d do Western Skyrim an Reik for a nice flash back

class is what someone makes out of it. cant recoment any. Depends if you play noCP and no-proc Cyro or the full proc hell :)

I am not a vamp, but i read some think it meta

There is some inflation. I dont care to much about money. There is a huge collectors -mania due to set collections and reconstruction. If you just quest all DLC you make easy a million

    Hey, welcome back.

The CP system did get an overhaul. For myself, I like it a lot better. You and I are in the same CP range, which means you will be able to make a strong contribution to your personal build. I find that I have enough points to fully max out several areas that interest me. I'd spend some time reading over what each of them does, rather than going online to look for pre-mades, as there is a fair bit of nuance to really individualize your personal playstyle.

Places to level..hmm. I really like Morrowind, Elsweyr, Greymoor (caverns are awesome), and then Blackwood. Blackwood I've barely scratched, as I've recently returned as well.

Fun classes? I am very partial to the Templar. I have a couple Necroes and Wardens, but I flow the best with my Templar, and always seem to return to it.

Blackwood? Is that the newest one? I haven't even heard the name until right now. You and others have given me a good starting point though, I'm hoping to get sucked into the gameplay like I used to back in the day.

Yes, Blackwood is this year's chapter, with Deadlands wrapping the storyline up. Check out the Companion system. I think it's fairly awesome.

It got re-arranged but for 95% of players it's still exactly rhe same "I don't understand this under-explained over technical crap full of ESO buzzwords so I'll paste from a streamer". You just paste different numbers into different places. On PC there's even an addon that does it all for you 8)

There's a lot of new content, out of all the quest lines, whether part of the base game, dlc or expansion (like summerset) which would you recommend as the most fun and engaging one that will also let me level up swiftly? I always used to pick ebonheart pact so I've already done those to death.

The fastest ways to level are probably mindlessly repeating bits of Black Rose Prison, mindlessly blowing stuff up in Spellscar and mindlessly running in a circle round the Alik'r dolments, and of course running a circle of skyreach with a pal, resetting it and repeating it.

If you want story though one tamriel means you can go anywhere you like whatever. There is a guide to doing the story lines in order for the DLCs and that does make it rather more sensible. There is a marked difference in visual quality in the DLCs and it generally goes up over time. The DLC delves, dungeons and world bosses also tend to be a bit more complex, harder and a lot more interesting.

Assuming you have access to them I would however suggest that you first
    - Go to Western Skryim, learn scrying
    - Go to Summerset, learn jewellery crafting and do the main quest line up to the point you get the psijic side quest to find rifts

and as said above pick up the two companions (you can do those two side quests whilst ignoring the main questline)

The rift finding goes all over the world and it's something to do as you travel arouind. The scrying is also all over the game world so you might as well be doing the zone ones as you go.
Are classes quite balanced? I recall days where sorcerer would absolutely stomp everything and when in cyrodill it'd be half the players sorcerer's, the other half every other class. Has this changed at all? And would you recommend any particular class that's really fun to make a build with?

Every update they tweak things to try and balance it, every update some smartass figures out how to make one particular class or race better than the others again 8) There's still a bias towards stam for PvP and magicka for PvE although ZOS has been working on balancing that.
Lastly, what's the way to make decent amounts of gold? I used to farm ancestor silk and ores to sell it to guild traders. Is this still viable? I believe I had 1-2 million when I quit but I can never have enough gold imo.

Be aware the PC game has very serious inflation issues. You might want to farm stuff and sit on it until you actually need gold to spend on something else at this point. Don't look at the gold price with 2015 eyes look at the price of things like tempers instead.

    Cp rework happened.

As for quests to level, I love morrowind to clockwork city to summerset. Great storyline.

Some classes are better in some pvp scenarios. But you can do good on almost anything with skill and practice. Play how you like :) but optimize that playstyle.

Vamp passives are good on nb, for example. Some people go stage 2 for wd/sd. Some people go stage 3 for undeath. Some use mistform and vamp Lord. Very few use spammable but it does get some use. Same with frenzy. But drain + stun aren't used much.

As for gold, hirlings on multiple characteristics + daily writs on multiple characters gives absurd amounts of money. I've made 8m in gold over the last year. And like 39m in materials from the writs and hirlings.

    Welcome back!
PC NA @gariondavey, BG, IC & Cyrodiil Focused Since October 2017 Stamplar (main), Magplar, Magsorc, Stamsorc, StamDK, MagDK, Stamblade, Magblade, Magden, Stamden

Some of what you did has not changed. One suggestion I would make is this. Use the Armory System to make a gathering / crafting build. From gathering to blowing up items you will get way more resources. On a single node I have gotten up to 10 resources. Surveys I have gotten up to 40 resources. Matts still sell really well for cash in their raw state.
