What skills do you think need a rework?

I always like playing using sword and shield, the problem is that this game makes all weapons serve a specific purpose, there's only one DPS skill for sword and shield, and only S&S and Ice Staff specifically have taunt skills.
Anyway, that said, S&S could definitely use a rework to make it more viable as a front-bar damage dealing skill.
Specifically power bash.
The reverberating morph feels kinda useless considering that there's already a charge skill that also stuns AND grants a damage shield AND is also a gap close, reverberating just divides damage and does the first half on impact and the second half after.
But Power bash is massively underwhelming.

Power bash takes 5 seconds to fully charge (as you need 10 stacks and gain one every 0.5 seconds). And it only grants 50% damage.
If you're in PvP, this is useless, if you're a tank, your stamina will drain for the most part, and your bash deals underwhelming damage (around 6k), and you're already losing some health and stamina, leaving you with barely any resources for a follow-up or even heal yourself (if stamina-build).

I think power bash should be reworked in this way:

Basic version would be the current version of power bash, 50% extra damage for all 10 stacks, nothing change, it's just the basic version. (Each stack grants extra 5% damage)
Morph 1: When all 10 stacks are consumed, the damage dealt is released in a frontal conte damaging all enemies in front of you.
Morph 2: Each stack now grants 6% extra damage, and when all 10 stacks are consumed, the target hit also gets stunned.

The first morph would be more viable for PvE, and the second morph would be a better version of high burst damage for PvP.
Since the shield has a glow in front whenever it starts piling up on stacks, it's an easy counter for players to keep their distance.

Any thoughts?
And What would be the skill you'd like to see reworked?

(I was originally thinking of power bash to deal AoE cone damage for 100% more damage instead of 50% AND stun the enemy that got directly hit, but I think that would be too OP, so maybe just splitting the effects into different morphs would be easier to "balance")

    I wholeheartedly agree.
I had a discussion about corrupting bloody mara and how the health regen buff it grants is completely wasted on how vampirism works. My main idea was to just fix which version of bloody mara grants the health regen, but it also evolved into how vampirism should work in general lol.

    Weakness to Elements.

It should lower resistances to the type of destruction staff that that you're using only. Maybe a morph could also increase damage taken from that element by a %.

It just doesn't make sense to me that a skill called Weakness to "Elements" also lowers resistance to physical (are we calling it martial these days?) damage.

one of the morphs for mages fury to be a lightning spammable would be nice. remove the execute or the aoe or whatever, it'd just be cool do have a sorc lightning build with a unique spammable.
it's not like there is a huge difference between mages wrath and endless fury, i'm sure everyone has their preference, but if one went away i don't think people would really notice.

This, 100%. It's such a shame that what was supposed to make being a vampire unique kinda killed it completely in the end. Even if it ends up being a niche playstyle like WW, at least it will be better that its current state, it's not even niche, it's non-existent outside of RP or people who just like vampires for one reason or another.

Also, Force Siphon and its morphs from the Restoration Staff skill line. I feel like this skill is pretty much never used (at least in PvE, don't know about PvP), since you have other, far better, ways of applying both Lifesteal and Magickasteal, and the Vateshran staff really doesn't change anything.

Lots of passives from older classes. They all follow the same pattern of only adjusting the numbers on skills that are from the same skill line as the passive is from. These passives are essentially meaningless because the skills could have had those numbers from the start and made room for an actually good or interesting passive.

DK's Searing Heat and Eternal Mountain
    NB's Dark Veil
    Templar's Enduring Rays

Also ditto on the entire vampire skill line and Power Bash.

You might be thinking of Veil of Blades, Soul Tether, and or Soul Siphon. Bolstering Darkness has zero damage and the 10% damage mitigation from major protection can be obtained from other skills and or champion points. The snare can be broken by skills, plus it sits on the ground and the area is small. Even with the snare it can be dodged rolled out of easily.

The only time I have seen Bolstering Darkness used in pvp was a short time after the devs changed it so the major protection remained active after the player left the area of effect when major protection was 30%. But even at 30% is not enough to have any significant impact on tanking end game pve content.

Thats not really the point of the skill its good when you push groups or get pushed, its one of the best PVP ults least on supports or magblades

Its not there for the mitigation as much as the healing and movement speed increase, plus not every toon can slot revealing flare

Most groups I encounter in pvp use non ultimate based skills for mobility like race against time. And Soul Siphon is better for burst heals. It has lower cost, longer range, doesn’t require group members to be in a small area, and heals for significantly more.

And the Veil of Blades morph has the same synergy function as Bolstering Darkness, if a group is does not need the damage mitigation after leaving the area and is only using Bolstering Darkness for the synergy switching over to using Veil of Blades would have no negative impact on that group. Leaving Bolstering Darkness to be modified to better suit tanking duties.

Since it was already established vampires need a rework, I felt like leaving an idea here which I got after playing a bit on my magDK.

Vampiric Drain - basically what is holding this otherwise iconic ability back is that, in PvP it doesn't heal nearly enough and has pitiful pressure, so your enemy will be able to shrug it off and recover their own health and resources more than you can during the channel time, and in PvE it deals pitiful damage and is thus not worth slotting while also being impossible to weave LAs with.

So my idea is to change Vampiric drain to give it one offensive morph (meant for PvE dps) and one defensive morph (meant for PvP).
The offensive morph would be either a spammable (like Rapid Strikes or Templar Jabs, but treated as a dot ability instead of a series of direct damage) or an execute ability (like Jesus Beam), in which case it needs to be powerful enough that the channel duration doesn't matter. Eitherway it should heal you for a percentage of the damage done by it, like DK's Burning Embers only weaker but healing the entire duration instead of just at the end. The reason I don't think it should be just another single-target dot is because vampires have been shown to use the drain ability continuously and often, so thematically it wouldn't make sense to be an ability used only once every 14 seconds - especially considering that every single class has a dot ability somewhere, but some classes do not have an execute or spammable.
The defensive morph should not heal based on missing health (unless it's a flat amount increased by missing health like Dragon Blood). Considering its channel time and the opportunity for enemies to interrupt your healing with a bash, it should certainly be a strong heal based on max health or it should be impossible to be interrupted and be a normal but strong heal over time. It can also keep the ult generation, because that allows you to charge up your ultimate against NPCs before the next fight or essentially become a stall ability to semi-reset a fight (a nice change compared the usual line-of-sight running in circles around a tree).

Either morph would also help stage 4 vampires reach full health upon leaving a fight, which I think is only an issue right now because the closer you are to full health, the less effective a heal solely based on missing health is.

    Comes to post about vampires.
    The entire Vampire skill line.

    Welp, I'm late lol.

While I could make a massive wall of text on each ability I'll just focus on the one that still disappoints me greatly that isn't Mistform or Vampiric Drain, Mesmerize.

Mesmerize should be looked at and I made a thread about one possible way the ability could be made more helpful.
    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/591239/an-idea-to-make-mesmerize-more-reliable

In essence they should change it so that all enemies in the Cone/AoE get stunned, BUT the stun only becomes unblockable when they are looking at the vampire who casted the ability. Still keeps the silly looking at you rule, but makes the ability far more reliable than it currently is.

JAB [Templar] - jabs should be single target. or much more expensive. This should not be the only spamable the class uses. For years now templar class is just spamming one skill while all the others use spamables suited for situation. single spamable should not work for every content type. Just like Scythe or Sap essence it should be an option for AOE only.

Sorc's Lightning Splash and its morphs. Its damage is laughable compared to other AOEs + for some reason it takes around 2 seconds from cast to damage (even tho tooltip says its instant).

Sorc's execute is kinda meh as well, bringing it up from 20 to 25% would be nice.

In other words server performance is affecting skills more, then potetional enemies.
But really, what is surprising ?
It takes me sometimes three attempts just open the door in the medium crowded area, for example Elsweyr.
How can we talk about balancing the skills if you have 100percent probability they will be delayed and 50percent probability, they will not be casted at all ?

I want to be able to summon Blood Fiends or Giant Bats to attack my enemy. There's some sets that proc for a cone of crows to rain down on a target, would be nice if I could get a thrall or two to annoy NPCs in PvE.

Would also be nice if I could just siphon blood but instead of taking it out, I make it all rush to someone's head so they blow up.

Why it was ok to remove reflective plates original functionality (Reflect projectiles) but then give Sorcerers Frag procs off Frags essentially creating a 10k per projectile minigun, i'll never know.

Streak is an over bloated skill. Damage, Proc'ed passive damage. Stun, escape.
At least Bolt Escape is practical, streak just feels completely overloaded.

Alternatively, give Dks reflect back at least that way we wont get wrecked by 2 ranged skills all the time (Snipe spam and Frag spam)

    Favorite Foods and Potions

    • Parse Food for PvE:(DPS) Ghastly Eye Bowl (increases Max Magicka by 4592 and Magicka Recovery by 459 for 2 hours).
    • Gold/Purple Food for Sorc PvP and Meme Tanking:(PvP) Clockwork Citrus Filet (increases Max Health by 3326, Health Recovery by 406 [useful if stage 1 vampire], Max Magicka by 3080, and Magicka Recovery by 338 for 2 hours). Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

    Yeah, no to that.

Templar's use Jabs/Sweeps for everything because of Burning Light. Change Burning Light so that it's not a proc with Jabs as the most efficient proc'er and you'll see Templars start using other spammables. But, simply changing it to be single target would make the skill clunkier to use, leaving Templars in a less than ideal state.

(Also, I've never understood the push to make all spammables operate along the same set of rules. People complain about homogenization, spreadsheet balancing, and lack of class identity, but then suggestions come up that would continue to be detrimental to those ideas.)

Templars in general just have too many long-duration abilities. It doesn't help one passive's only function is adding 2 seconds of duration. POTL/PL is 6 seconds, Barrage is 10 seconds, Reflective Light is 12 seconds, Vampire's Bane is a whopping 16 seconds. There's too much empty space that needs filled, so the spammable is the answer.

I'd like to see Sun Fire given a 80% increase in initial damage à la Frost Reach buff to make it potentially viable as a ranged spammable.

Wouldn't change the Burning Light issue, but it would be nice.

destructive reach. nobody uses this "dot" and it used to be a great stun for mag builds that dont have good stuns in pvp. I know flame clench still stuns but that forces you to run flame staff only. I know people hate the idea of a ranged stun but it is low damage, can be blocked and dodged.
