Has anyone completed theirs yet? I'm basically maxed out already and didn't even get to finish the cave. :(

Mine is very much a just started work-in-progress but certainly you won’t be able to put lots of stuff everywhere! I’m starting with placing some larger statement pieces if you will — Ayleid chandeliers and lightwells as well as statues. I plan to leave much of the ruin with little more than that, leave it grand, mysterious, lots of space with light and shadow. I plan to have a bit more in places, still working out the specifics, and do some actual building on top. Generally, I feel like this place will work best if approached like a museum with focal points and not full of stuff everywhere.

I don't have it, but I'm curious what style Furniture are you all using to decorate?

Considering there's probably around 2 dozen Ayleid furnishings across all sources, what's the strategy?

I’m planning to use some white stone Alinor furnishings and possibly some of the Verdant High Elf. Someone posted in another thread some screenshots of their work-in-progress with a blend of Ayleid, Alinor, and High Elf. :) I am curious how some of the Dwarven or Markarth furnishings could look.

I'm using a combo of Ayleid, Alinor, and Vampiric furnishings. The dark wood and the nature/knotwork designs match well with the Ayleid aesthetic, IMO.

Remember, it's not that the Ayeids (or the Dwemer, for that matter) simply didn't use wood at all; rather, over the centuries, all examples of Ayleid wood/cloth furnishings have rotted away, leaving only their stone furnishings behind. I think a proper, "modern" Ayleid home would contain a fair amount of Alinor-style furnishings.

Same. I've been making furnishings and have a bunch and am about ready to start decorating. In the mean time I've been thinking of which sections I wanted to focus on since I know I'll run out of spaces before I'm really done

Oh, and what are those chairs that are tall and narrow with the blue glowing backs that look like stained glass? Those look very nice! And I meant to say that I love the smugglers hideout idea 🙂

That looks awesome! You managed to make the spaces look well-decorated by using large, colourful, high-impact furniture! Looks great

Mine looks really sparse in comparison, so I went and checked, and it turns out I spend 260 slots on plants (mostly vines and some shrubs lol), 100 on lights, and around 130 on structural furniture (almost exclusively the cheapo, slot-wasting limestone fences from the Alinor vendor, and most of those are really low-impact and barely noticeable).

What I'm trying to say, to the people who worry about size / slots, is that you can make the space work for you if you have a consolidated vision. I could've easily ditched like 160 of the 260 barely visible bushes outside, and just left the garden with the default plants, which isn't that bad to be honest, and focused more on the interior and the top floor. I kinda liked the sparse look for an Ayleid home, especially, since they are often mostly ruined and I think the garden looks good in its natural state.

Of course, if somebody wants to build beach cabanas, tanning beds, bars, a bathhouse, a smuggling cave, a crafting corner, (all of which are great ideas on their own btw, and all of which looked great in the houses I've seen them in  !), well yeah you won't be able to do all of that. But I think that's true for almost any house, some people see a nice house and furnish it for their purposes, while someone else wants to remake all the walls, add 2 new floors and create a magical bazaar or whatever! So I sympathise with people whose ideas for this house were bigger than the slot limit (we all know the sad, sad feeling :disappointed:), but it really depends on what you want to do with the house, because the slot / space ratio may work for what you've planned there, so don't be turned off immediately! Anyhow, hope people are enjoying their Ayleid dream homes :3!

You, Bluebird, and kaisernick have done some really amazing things with these Ayleid ruins! Near the beginning of your video there is a large round flowerbed with a tall tree in it. What furnishing makes the round wall around the tree and how did you do the dirt that the tree sits in that covers the stone pavement? 🙂

Hi sorry took a while to reply took a break from the game. The flower bed is done with a markarth circular platform and I had to use essential housing tools for the dirt. Can also use an elswyr meditation circle and for larger ones the Dummer memorial ash pits work well.if you don't mind a few swords poking out

Aweeh thank you. Ever since it was announced I wanted to make a flesh garden so had to get creative with some if the statues as the acrimony furniture's for it were huge. Ended up buying ones from vivec as they are more lifelike. And fused the markarth building blocks as the white marble matches well with ayleid. I've done some major modifications since the vid will post an update shortly:)

I really like yours also. The fountain of youth is a really cool concept and I like how you've utilised the skill refresher in front of meridia and the little dining area. 9f you want to free up more slots to level out my flooring in places I've used markarth platforms for mine, you might find it useful by where you've got the dining area I don't think it clips to the other side.
