They're spawning pretty quickly for me on both PC NA and PC EU.

Are you looking at the map to see which dolmen is either in progress or ready to be triggered by a nearby player?

They've always run on rotation, so if no one goes to close the currently active dolmen, you'll be waiting a while. It's usually not a big deal during events or in populated zones. In zones with less desirable sets, sometimes you just gotta go close it yourself.

Source: waited around in Reapers March last night with Mirri for the Fighters Guild daily, only to have to go solo the delayed dolmen myself. Came back to the one I'd been waiting at and there were like five people raring to go. It was great - and Mirri gave me her quest, so now I don't have to bother doing any more!

Noticed this in Eastmarch. I thought I was being impatient. 7 minutes on one. 9 on another.

I've had to wait about 15 mins, on 2 different occasions, for the northern Bangkorai dolmen to start up. They all should just be able to be up at the same time, with a 3 min respawn time. It's ridiculous.

I waited 25 minutes for one recently in Deshaan I believe. It still never popped when I left.

If you look on the map, there is now a feature which shows you which dolmen is actually active so that you can go to that one and take it down so that the next one will pop. They wont go up unless the active one goes down, and they generally go in a clockwise or counter clockwise rotation, much like harrowstorms now do. I was cycling the dolmens in Grahtwood last night to grind up one of my old low level characters, and after one was down the next would pop very quickly. If you start a party and cycle them, you can have them up and down within minutes of each other. It doesn't need to be a giant party either. Its not a permanent fix or what you're asking for, but it does get the dolmens cycling quickly. Eventually randoms will join and you'll find its less than 5 minutes between each because you're going through them so fast.

(not difficult to solo on a low level character if you have training gear with traits + CP behind you, but understandably difficult if you don't have this- in which case, starting a dolmen group really helps.)

    Legends never die
    They're written down in eternity
But you'll never see the price it costs
The scars collected all their lives
When everything's lost, they pick up their hearts and avenge defeat
Before it all starts, they suffer through harm just to touch a dream
    Oh, pick yourself up, 'cause
    Legends never die

You could basically be naked and just use your weapon and one spell. Dolman's are quite easy to solo.

There was a group of us last night waiting at a dolman for 30 minutes in Bankorai. It never popped. Went to another one in the same zone. Never popped. Noticed this too in Stone Falls.

Did you check the other dolmens in the zone?

Like I mentioned above, they go in a rotation and you need to close the active one before it moves on to the next.

Last night in Reapers March, I wanted to stay around the one with a convenient wayshrine. I arrived and closed that dolmen. I watched on the map as the one up by Arenthia went active (you can see swords on it now) and it was closed by someone else. The third, and much less convenient dolmen went active. It stayed that way for about 10 minutes with no change, so I went there and soloed it. Then the original dolmen I had been at went active. If I hadn't gone there, it might've been a real long wait before someone else wandered over and decided to do it.

If you are stalled waiting for a specific dolmen, one of the other ones is active.

I can see where that would be a problem if you were doing a Fighters Guild daily dolmen run in a zone you hadn't already been to on a new character, but you could ask which dolmen is active in zone chat, then ask for a teleport to the nearest dolmen.

That's exactly what I do when I have a fighter's guild daily for an area the toon hasn't been to before. Ride to the nearest wayshrine then check if the dolmen is up. If not, I ride to the next. Sometimes I'll be lucky and run into an active dolmen.

Could there be a new form of griefing? Twice in the Rift, I came across dolmens where everything had been killed, even the last boss but the final pinon was still active. I wonder if that keeps the dolmen active and slows the rotation.

That's rather the opposite of griefing. If you interact with that last pinion, you get credit for doing away with that dolmen without hitting a single enemy even once. Someone had been very nice to you you (or perhaps was simply disconnected before they could finish the dolmen).

I've found them much easier and faster to do with the new map feature. Now, if you are just hanging around the same dolmen all the time (as I have seen many people do) then, yes they can take a while to 'pop' as you are waiting for the others to be done.

It's especially handy for zones with dolmens that are out of the way (there is a reason Deshaan and Al'akir are so popular), like Malabal Tor.

So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.

I think their suggestion was to use your map to ride around and explore until you discover the dolmens. For a person who is playing ESO for the first time ever-- or visiting a zone for the first time ever-- this will take longer because the person will need to explore "blindly" although the map should still show them basic landmarks which should help, like where the roads are, but things start to show up (but aren't added permanently) on the map and compass while you're still a good bit away from them, so that should help new players find and visit undiscovered dolmens so they get added permanently to their maps.

And for the players who have a strange aversion to exploring and discovering-- I call it "strange" because ESO is, after all, an "adventure" game at heart, and exploration has always been a key element of adventure games-- there are in-game addons, as well as out-of-game mobile apps and websites, which show where things are in any zone, such as dolmens, treasure maps, crafting surveys, skyshards, lore books, etc. So new players don't even need to explore if they don't feel like it.
