Transmute Station enhancement

I think devs should make the transmute station free and if you want to reconstruct then that should cost shards. Here is my thoughts on this, with as offten as devs are making changes to armor sets or even classes and skills its just making me sick that I have to spend so much time getting shards to get an armor set set up the way I want only to have the damn rug yanked out from under me a week later...

✭✭You have people in other threads complaining about the cap not being high enough due to them hoarding a massive number of geodes, if they made transmuting gear free they would likely have to get rid of the chance of trait materials being returned when you deconstruct the gear piece, or make it so you have to supply the trait mat in the first place, which the crystals currently work as a stand in for so long as you have the trait researched.
Meaning you would no longer be able to use you excess crystals to, change a random weapon to nirnhoned and decon it for a chance of the trait mat dropping.
Meaning people would have less to spend the crystals on, not a big issue for those of us that rarely ever reach the currency cap but for those over it, it further adds to their current problem of not having enough uses for the crystals they hoard.
I say let people trade in their excess crystals for seals of endeavor, 1-1 rate for those that want to speed up getting stuff of the seals store. That or just add other stuff you can buy for transmute crystals or an option to pay for stuff off the writ vendor with transmute crystals or something.2 -
Rugby_hook✭✭✭What should change is the cost to transmute. I don't get why it is fixed at 50, but reconstructing can be as cheap as 25. How does it require less material to make a new piece out of thin air than to just change a trait? Transmuting should be on a scale from 50-15 based on how many of the set pieces you have collected. It would allow for farming to continue after you have completed a set, because if you get an item you want you can then transmute cheaper than you could have reconstructed. It would also help guild traders with creating a better market for off trait items, which will eventually become dead except for jewelry.1 -

- Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
- Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).
