Fargrave is fantastic!

Just wanted to say thank you and give kudos to everyone at ZOS who worked on the city of Fargrave. Finally a bustling city that doesn't feel half empty, there are full stalls everywhere, and not just the amount of clutter but it's new unique clutter. Love the new terrariums, the big floating bubbles, the floating books, and so much more! So even though I keep getting lost finding my way around, I'm always finding some cool new furniture or item we've not seen before.

Weirdly, I think Fargrave is the best thing about the whole year so far. I've played every expansions and been largely positive on all of them, but Blackwood and the Deadlands seem a bit anemic in terms of content. Maybe it's because Daedra are getting a bit overused and Deadlands is by definition a dead land and Imperials have the least interesting racial lore, but I didn't feel as invested in these stories as I did with, say, Thieves Guild and Markarth. I hope they do more things like Fargrave in the future, it feels so fresh. I have high hopes for whatever comes next year, especially if the plot takes a more political and historical bent like Orsinium did.

I don't remember doing anything in this area besides ducking trhough at the start of the expansion quest. Is it all sidequests stuff?

I'm definitely getting Star Wars vibes as well. I really like "the collector character" for instance. So refrshing.

Even if Fargrave is partially reskin, it is a city like no other in the game.

The ESO art Team was always good, I sometimes enjoy wandering around the zones to see if I can find another detail I have overseen before.

I really really love Fargrave, and I got to agree the new clutter looks fantastic! It really does feel like a city of mystery and intrigue, and it's so big I've gotten lost more than a few times (not a bad thing, it helps for that big city feel).

A tiny part of me really hopes they might consider releasing a smaller house that's purchasable for crowns, perhaps an apartment style or something, as I really would love to live there, but I'm becoming more and more convinced that the new house mansion Ossa is just not what I'm looking for.

I'm impressed with the design of Fargrave. It's the first ESO town where I'm actually playing it like an RPG and not an MMO.

Usually I speedrun through chapters and DLC but not this time. Best content released all year.

Fargrave is simply fun! Its a cool place to run around and check out stuff.

I'd like to see some smaller homes there, though. The big one is nice, but its too much for me. I'd like to see a Captain Margaux in the city and/or something like Waters Edge/Proudspire mannor.

Absolutely agree Fargrave and the Dealands are the bomb. Love the story and the way everything has been put together, the architecture and the feel of the zone is just so well done.

As a bonus, Arox the Mutilator is just icing on the cake.

(The only criticism I would make is the Fargraves guild trader area - having to go through it to get to the shambles (yes I am aware of the portal) is just so clunky. Why set it apart from the rest of the city? Thumbs down on that!)

I really like the Redguard style, so the reskin doesn't bother me that much.
And in terms of accessibility of guild trader and crafting stations, Fargrave has reached new heights of really annoying realism. :D
But yep, it's amazing. A lot of verticality as well, and lots of random characters with names.

It's also very clearly TES' version of Sigil, the City of Doors. Only the Lady of Pain is missing.

    Totally agree!

This is why creating new lore content rather then trying to build content and make it match similar to other games is just a better idea all round, the artist can really go out of their way and make it shine!

The whole redguard/sand theme is just the test for next years Dune chapter and if thats the sort of thing we are getting I'm on board 100%, can't wait to see what they bring!

Yup. This one would happily move into Fargrave (with or without all the players and companions running about).
Sadly, there is no home for gold (as usual) so... nice decor!
Do hope some of it turns up craftable/buyable/lootable and not in crown only shop!

I really like Fargrave overall but my only issue is the blueish overtone over it. It gives me a ´´depressing´´ vibe that I don´t like even if it suits the area thematically. It also kind of gives me a headache in the same way that the orange and blue overtones in MOS do. But other than that it´s great and I love seeing cities designed like that.

So they raised the floor and lowered the ceiling. Except the ceiling has spikes in it now and the floor is also lava.

I find the blue tone rather relaxing, but I can definitely see your point there. It may be annoying for some people, especially long term.

    Pros:
    - Amazing city design and world design in general
    - The absolutely awesome world building events. Seeing enemy NPC's interacting with each other in a way they have never done before.
    - The cross over between the land types.
    - The NPCS in GENERAL. Amazing.
    - The new overland combat moves on the dremora, so sick.
    - The scenery and ambience and the houses. Mother of god it's something I've been dreaming of for years.

    Cons:
    - I havent found any yet apart from some hilarious glitches (reading books thru walls) and a little sparse on the mobs (tho i assume thats more people killing them in hoards than anything else)

I am so damn pleased with this ending to the year. I havent done the storyline yet because Im too busy admiring everything else. They need to keep going on the track their on, this was brilliant.
I am demanding better customer service from Zenimax Studios.
I am demanding better and more open communication between the devs & the playerbase.

Yeah I can confirm that people are killing the mobs almost as soon as they spawn in right now, so there isn't going to be a lot of things to fight at the moment. No one will be able to accurately count how many mobs there are until the hype dies down a bit.

I agree, the art design is awesome. It reminds me of dungeons in Blackwood - the landscape was more like grey/green, but those dungeons were cluttered with all kinds of decorations, very colourfull. Esp. the public dungeons - that was my wish to have Zenitar Abbey as a city and here we are. Feels so good.

I also love it. Very satisfied with this year's content. Not that i hated any, loving all content since release where i'm not ganked by other players. :)
I like relationship of the Grasp and the city, the hostile/friendly hybrid district of the shambles, the bustling Bazaar, the exotic Collector's home, the towering homes (for a little time i was sure i could get to the homes in the upper levels)...but i also find the confusing architecture amazing. At the beginning i was getting lost everywhere and had trouble navigating the mazelike streets. They did a very good job on that.
And yes, Arox is one of my new favorite chars, loved his character development, especially his...burning finale. Don't want to spoiler anything. And the ending was epic! I love how they actively included the quest npcs from the zone in the actual endgame story, not just put them to the celebrating mob at the end, like usually.
    Very happy!

Loving the city, just got there. Curious, does the weather ever change? It should have dust storms. Been eyeing that house there, in only they had writ boards there -- I would gladly make it my main hub, even if it's problematic for crafting. Ah, kinda sucks that we can't get the plans for all that amazing clutter either, they had to add it to the store, of course.

As a long-time D&D fan, Fargrave was by far my favorite part of Deadlands - everything about it had Big Sigil Energy, from the aesthetic to the NPCs to the locations within it.

I was especially pleased to see the return of NPCs like Divayth Fyr and Valsirenn, since it makes sense that if you're going to bring back NPCs from previous chapters, it be ones who are powerful wizards that would be capable of planar travel.

I enjoyed Fargrave too. At first I didn't like the Deadlands because it's so ugly and evil, but it's supposed to be, and once I started learning more about Dremora culture and some of the characters there, I enjoyed the Deadlands too.
