You cannot put more than ca. 1400 cp in you char. Anything more is just QoL. And it was fault of Armory, not players who reported it at first possibility.

A bug is a bug.
An exploit is people abusing said bug to get more CP than they should have had at their level.
Exploits are handled very specifically by the EULA. A ban should be given.

I don't know how that's related to people abusing a bug on live.
They made the choice to do that whether it was reported or not.
There are consequences for those choices.

Look, in some cases id agree with you, but banned because zos gave extra cp when it has minimal impact since you can only have 4 slottables at a time and all the other passives dont really do much?
Chill. Maybe go outside for a bit.

Why are you making excuses for people cheating on ESO and OBVIOUSLY abusing a bug to the point where you're trying to explain how the mechanics make it negligible... even though it's clearly an issue.
Hmmmmmmm.....
Should we say "goodbye" now or later?

When I read the forum posts about the armoury bug I deliberately avoided using it until they fixed it, just to be on the safe side, but the bug happened after players used the feature as advertised, so they should not be blamed for it. And since the official post states that no accounts will be banned for this, they don't consider it a cheat either. If you want to blame someone for the downtime, it should be ZOS

You're missing the point.
Just getting the points is one thing. If it was a ZOS glitch, then so be it.
SPENDING the points and using them to level or have a leg-up over other players is where it becomes bannable.

I think this game have much more serious bugs than additional CP XD
Yes its makes obvious sense to ban people from trying out the armory system.baconoverlord wrote: »I fixed your post:baconoverlord wrote: »More downtime to fix stuff that players already reported on PTS.

I think you are honestly focussing on the wrong thing.
The bug was serious enough to need fixing urgently.
It isn't being fixed 'because of exploiters'.
Downtime will happen to fix a very serious bug.
It's not an exploit, it just happens at random and isn't even beneficial for many players. For instance, yesterday my CP just randomly jumped to 50000 when changing a node in the middle of a trial. But that is no advantage to me, as I can not utilize more CP anyways. Obviously this should be fixed, but demanding bans for players affected by a bug that is triggered by normal interaction with the game is ridiculous.

If you used their new system and got extra 65k points as a result doesn't mean you're an exploiter btw, it just means that dev team let a bug slip and you just observing said result without even doing anything specific or using it for an advantage because it resets upon port.

Again.. it's not about a bug. Maybe I need to start cutting and pasting this.
It's about the EXPLOITING players did with the bug.

You cannot exploit something that have cap, and CP system has limitations.
So what, only players below 1400 CP should be banned because they use those few precious points more and destroy everyone in non-champ battleground? ^^

You can only have four slottables, and a number of passives, so the excess is useful only for quickly swapping between things. Also, the players noticed it after the fact, and not all could figure out how to reverse it, some did, according to the post, but others just chose not to play. Maybe a few players who had less CP did use them intentionally for an advantage, for all of two days to get a leg-up, but they did so by risking their account. If they did get banned of course it wouldn't have been worth it. There will always be cases like that, better to ask for more testing, and higher quality control before patches are dished out.
