Has anyone else taken a huge hit to FPS post patch?

My System:

Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-10900KF CPU @ 3.70GHz 3.70 GHz
Installed RAM 32.0 GB (31.9 GB usable)
GPU NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080

I have the most recent NVIDIA driver

Playing, since the patch, is slow, jerky, and sticky. Everything hesitates. The game is using a TON of memory.

My connection:

I dunno. Is it just me?

Were you using multi-thread rendering before? If not, they now enabled it by default. Could try turning it off.

Also, you now have the options of DLSS/DLAA, since you've a modern Nvidia card. Give those a try? Or if they're on, try turning them off?

It was turned on. I turned it off.

    The game was still syrup-y.

I took the generic setting "high". It's better, but the amount of power the game is using post patch, it bogging down my system. It's terrible. Typing here in the forums, lol, I have to wait a few seconds for the key strokes to catch up.

I've not had this problem before today. I may have to give ESO a rest because everything else works great when its off.

Thank you for the info. <3 I would have never known that mutli threading became default. I thought when I turned it off, it was off. I thought when I turned it off, it was off.

    EDIT:

I dropped the settings to the generic "medium" setting. I closed everything and restarted my computer a third time.

I can now function, lol, and I feel comfortable participating in a trial this evening.

The odd thing is, my graphics appear to be just as good as they were on the higher settings. Maybe it's the 4k monitor.

I can type normally and no delay.

    I dunno! But I'm glad :)

Having massive issues 999 ping primary and some disconnects, I thought it was overpopulation and misbehaving mods.
As one example lots of players in Rawl showed up as black outlines, traders used 30 seconds to load an stuff like that.

Will check settings and probably disable some mods.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

My frames crashed after one of the maintenance patches about a month or so ago.

There are like very specific particle effects that appear to be at least part of the problem (for example, most of my time is spent in Cyrodiil and Siege Shield is guaranteed to cause a dip).

I would also agree with you that graphical fidelity appears to be improved across the board compared to my recollection of, say, half a year ago. It wasn't singled out in any patch notes, but it could be that there have been improvements have been made to particle effects, etc. that have made them more demanding and/or have been implemented in an inefficient manner.

I would love a developer comment on this since it's being mentioned by people more and more.

I was running fine on High before the patch, now I can only get the game to load on Minimum! And that's with multithreading off :_(

I had to turn off Multithreaded Rendering, my fans were going nutz while it was on and the performance wasn't any different.

Loading screens are painfully slow for me, and everything loads a lot slower. I tried with both multi threading on and off. Doesn't seem to be much of a difference. Before the update, everything was relatively normal.

Load screens are a lot longer

Fps is jumping around a lot without movie. Goes from 50 fps to 105 fps

Did you turn VBS off of you upgraded to 11? This sounds exactly like windows 11 stories I saw on windows 11 subreddit

Also update graphics drives. Most drives out ab update last month

Same. The multithreading option was overheating and crashing my computer.

Still on Windows 10, and I did update the graphics card driver as one of my first fixes. I did have some success playing around with the ingame settings, I changed viewing distance down to 1/2 what it was and reduced particle density to 1024, and it now loads on medium, which looks crisp enough so that I'm not too downhearted anymore!

FPS is fine, but Fargrave in particular feels like walking through soup.
Alandrol Sul: He's making another Numidium?!?
Vivec: Worse, buddy. They're buying it.
