Seeing all these players with more than 2 accounts, never mind just 2. . . I see where they get all their statistics from now. Game working as intended I guess.

You can always create characters on the opposite server of where you are (NA vs EU). The bonus is that ESO+ applies to both, and any Chapter purchases as well.

But it will be like starting fresh.

For me it's plain altoholism, 18 characters is not enough. I have 42 characters but admittedly I tend to play main account more.

Extra storage is a nice extra but not the main reason.

You create more characters mainly just to mess around with them?

Not exactly to mess around - to develop and play out their own stories. I still regret deleting a couple of characters before buying a second account, so now when I feel like creating someone new, I have the space to do it.

I will advise you that you need a unique e-mail for each account. You can use a single e-mail address for multiple Steam accounts, but you need a unique one for the purposes of ESO specifically. So get those e-mails set up before you do anything else.

Email aliases (i.e. with gmail or your private mail server) can be used to point all the mails to the same inbox while providing unique email-addresses per account to ZOS/ESO.

I imagine most of these are not paid accounts with the craft bag and extra bank space?

They are all purchased accounts and all have summerset dlc for jewelry writs. No I don't sub on all of them. I won't discuss how many exactly but it's less than 50%.

i absolutely did not know that. i've been wanting more characters for so long now, have maxed at 18 a long time ago. i just figured out how to log into NA...i couldn't believe it, took me to character creation. my mouth dropped

I got a second account when it was on special.... hoping I could get my husband to play. But he didn't. Boohoo... hugs needed.

These days I only use it if I want to test out what something looks like, or to do PvP when have to LOL because any other Level 1 would one shot me, and occasionally to sell more stuff on guild store if I have lots to sell.

I have an extra account. I do writs and some storage, but honestly, if I didn't have it, it really wouldn't change anything. You can have an alt in group and grind a pub dungeon for extra loot, but that's really such a pain in the butt that its really not worth the hassle. Maybe I lack "creativity", but I can't see huge benefits to it. Well... other than the fact that I never got an invite to participate on The Forums with my original account back in '14. So it was nice to finally be able to say things.

I started a second awhile back for storage, but as my main became more involved with trial/pvp/etc. guilds I found that I needed the other for the kind of intense trading I'm accustomed to. Now I mail almost everything I intend to sell and in my free time at work or something I'll log on and fill more stores.

How can you do all events on all accounts without buying the expansions or chapters or dlcs needed to participate in some events?

Also it takes long enough to login and out of main account characters without having to play login on other accounts...how many hours do yall have in your day/night?

I don't do events on more than one like some other people, but it has ESO+ to get around most of the issues. I buy crowns anyway, so paying for a 2nd ESO+ isn't really a waste, I just send gifts to myself basically. Also I have a separate install (even though this isn't necessary) and launch both at the same time and just swap between them. If it's during Jubilee and I'm doing writs on both then one will be on a load screen while the other is doing writs. I don't think I could ever juggle more than two though (much like my real life juggling skills!).

I have ESO+ on both accounts, and I would always buy the chapters for both. I'm retired, I play about 7-8 hours nearly every day.

Now I'm not doing all my characters in this current event. I'm doing a delve on my 4 mains, crafting writs on mains and a couple others, and endeavors. I found this event fun the first year I played, but I really wore out on it. When it comes to New Life and the Jubilee events, I don't do all characters, but more than for this event or Jesters.

There's only so much burnout I'm willing to expose myself to at my age....

Crafting - I got sick of the stupid prices for upgrading items so started a second account purely for crafting. While I have 13 characters max levelled on my main account many have been lvl'd 1-50 through skyreach, spell scar etc so they are "lite" on skill points. Figured it would be easier to lvl new characters that will only ever be crafters than find the skill points on all my other characters that are specifically set up for certain roles/play types.

So now instead of selling all the junk I pick up I mail it to my crafter for decon/levelling. In less than a month I have 3 characters doing writs and stupidly enough I get more tempers and wax from those 3 than I do from my master crafter that know 80% of all furnishings & motiffs. By Christmas should have 9 crafters up and running and never have to worry about buying mats again.

Well.... while I was working again (from 2000 through 2005) I didn't play ANYTHING (because I know just exactly how obsessive I am about a game or games I find fun). Then in 2005, a good friend gifted me WoW for Christmas - after I had retired for the third time. I played WoW from January 2006 until March of 2013. After that, I played RIFT from then until July of 2016. Haven't ever been back to either game.

I spent the intervening years playing Skyrim and Oblivion. Daughter and younger granddaughter had played the beta (not sure which one now) of ESO - and were very uncomplimentary (due to the early insistence that endgame was pvp). So I didn't even look at ESO until June of 2018 - and was very pleasantly surprised with what I found.

I am following the way I played the earlier MMOs - multiple accounts, many many alts. Thing is, I'm retired, so I get to play as much as I like, and spend whatever I like. So - I love the game, I have 60 characters (will be making 12 more on PC EU eventually) and I'm really happy here!

Much like Lonewolf and Sylvermynx I have many accts. 52 currently.

15 of those have 18 toons maxed out in all 7 crafting lines. And range from cp345 -cp3600

Why? Why not. I love the game. Have been around since early 15 and much like Sylver I have the time to do so. I love the crafting aspect I have them all researching, many 9 trait and grand masters now. I get to help folks out and have some fun.
I also love chasing down those achievement points lol.

    I told my wife I'd likely stop at 300 crafters...but I also told her that at 100, 150, 200...

If you play a lot having a second acct can be beneficial. But each to there own.

All I know for sure is I'm not the only one that needs to go to Altaholics anonymous. :D

I do most of the events excluding PvP ones, and have both ESO+ and all chapters on my two accounts. While I don't have a SSD, it only takes something under a couple of minutes to log out a character on one account and log in one on the other account. I'm retired but have less time than many to spend on gaming, typically around 2-3 hours per day in several bursts.

As I speak I'm about to reach level 50 on my 14th character, and I'll reach 18 eventually, no doubt. Even though all of my alts are mostly writs-slaves, they're not neglected, each having enough points to fulfill their role and to max crafting stuff, as well as having a set of yellow armours (except for jewelry in some cases because chromium). I mostly properly play them during events, especially Mayhem and Undaunted celebration, to break the "monotony" of my main.
However, even though there'd be multiple advantages in having more than one account as described in this thread (especially when it comes to tickets/events), getting another account is not something I'll ever do. I have no issues maxing out tickets, I don't need more writs (otherwise I'd already have 18 level 50s writ-slaves, leveling one 1-50 takes but a few hours in the worst case scenario), and as a matter of fact I don't even do writs with my 14 chars every day. Doing writs on 14 chars is already annoying enough, even with add-ons. Profitable, for sure, but annoying nonetheless - as is running around gathering resources from all the surveys. Sure, it can be done while doing other stuff because it's not exactly something that requires my full attention, so I can do writs and run around gathering treasure chests and survey nodes while getting work phone calls out of my way and such, but some days I'm so tired I can barely bring myself to log in for the daily reward.
TL;DR I'm glad I read this thread because I thought I had a bad case of altoholic-ism, but apparently others have it worse than I do, and I don't envy them one bit. I'm also grateful I can work around the whole event ticket thing by spending crowns on them should I find myself short on them. Time is money, and I'm fortunate enough to have a very good time:money exchange ratio so to say.

But if someone gifted you an account would that circumvent that? :D

As it has been mentioned already the income from multiple crafters doing writs per day is great, not to mention the mats you get as well. But it also comes down to the amount of time you have also.

If i start to feel burnt out from writs I'll just run my primary 4 accts through and then go questing/achievement hunting.

For me, as a new player, it was because... at the time ... when you created a character, it immediately started in the Wailing Prison. I noticed the boxes and crates that could be looted. I noticed that logging out and back in could reset them. And I noticed that some of the items could be vendered once I got out, so there was stuff I wanted to keep, even at beginning levels. As well, you could stay in WP and gain some levels, which at the time (there was no balancing of character vs enemy) was a good thing to leave WP at least at level 5 or 6.

Problem was - inventory space. And I soon realized you could not mail items to other characters on the same account.

So I started a free account, created a character, and sent stuff to that account for storage.

Now, with the game as it is now, I would not bother to have a second account if I was starting out. There is no need since the tutorial has changed. No real need for the second account - except to accumulate daily login stuff.

Update: I created a second account and am having quite a bit of fun as a slow-moving, low-level character :) The entire game though Greymoor (all but Blackwood) is only $20 (It will be a long time, if ever, before this character needs Blackwood.) I started with no ESO but changed my mind on that after playing just a couple hours (could not stand not collecting resources and doing daily writs) - can't play without the craft bag. Tamriel really is huge and beautiful with a lot of interesting characters when you're not at all in a hurry!

I have 18 characters on one ESo Plus account, all L50, CP 1460, all maxed in all 7 crafts for daily writs. I don't know if I'd have the time or energy to do more writs on a second account. But I often wonder if I'd like to remind myself of what it was like when I first started, and it's fun starting new characters.
So I wonder what it was like for you to start a second account and if you've found it worth it
    Thanks for your thoughts

My wife and I have 10 accounts between us, so besides running a highly active guild, we also have our own side guilds for extra storage (yes, officers of the main guild are in the side guilds too). I also use two of the additional accounts to hold dailies, Mage, Fighters, Undaunted (Bolgrul?), and various zones with good rewards. This allows us to do all the dailies we want whenever we want. This is beneficial for both ourselves, and for running guild events.

As for my main account, 13 characters, 2 I still play, one PVE, one PVP, the rest are strictly for crafting dailies at this point... and Jubilee of course!
