All Praise the Love for Hybrids! Hybrid Sorc Build "Thundercaller" 92K+

CernyGaming
Hi!

My YouTube channel features builds for all roles, including PvP and PvE, along with walkthroughs and guides as well! This is my most recent one, "Thundercaller"; a Hybrid Sorcerer updated for the upcoming Deadlands update, which will FINALLY make hybrids viable. Exciting!

Thanks for sharing this - I appreciate how you explain the synergies between gear and skills.

I'm excited for these changes, I haven't done any proper theorycrafting beyond novelty builds for ages; I look forward to more builds that make novelties viable!

Could you explain 2 of your choices for me.
    1) using rapid strikes as a spammable is justified by the inherent execute, but doesn't it slow down the weave of light attacks? You seem to build into light attacks, then slow the weaving? I wonder if crystal weapon might be a quicker spammable, while reducing the cost of all other abilites, and giving another sorcerer ability for the Expert Mage passive boost to dmg on your front bar.

    2) Probably a stupid question, but why the clanfear and not the monkey-thing? It is a nice heal, but wouldn't the unstable familiar give significantly more DPS.
#1 tip (Re)check your graphics settings periodically - especially resolution.

    Hi there;

I'm glad you're as excited as I am for the coming changes; it's all really exciting!

RE Q1: Rapid Strikes was chosen because I sincerely dislike using Crystal Weapon. I find that weaving it is cumbersome, buggy, inconsistent, and generally a pain in the ass to use. The penetration debuff it applies can be useful, as can the heal from the Dark Magic passives, but I generally hate using Crystal Weapon. I can use it well in PvP as part of a burst combo, but in PvE it just doesn't gel.

RE Q2: I did test the Scamp because I thought at face value it would provide more damage, but the Clannfear actually ended up pulling its weight more, which I found surprising, even with the Scamp's activated AoE ability. It's probably to do with the fact that we weighted it on the stamina side, and the Clannfear scales better with stamina and weapon damage.

    Thanks for sharing.

Seems like it could do a little better by switching Relequen to the body and Diamonds Victory to the front bar weapons.

    Why?
    1. Flurry will proc your Ranged Supremacy. (Spammable)
    2. Bound Armaments will proc your Melee Supremacy. (4s)
    3. You never want to drop Relequen by mistake in actual content, but it's okay for Diamonds Victory to fall off because it doesn't require build up.
    4. Relequen's damage actually ticks twice while weaving because of the way it ticks and refreshes, not having it active on your back bar will mean it only ticks once per second while you're on that bar which is a fair bit with your dynamic rotation.

Edit: Oh and you probably have more than enough Penetration because you're using Light Armor, I'd swap to Nirn/Precise over Sharpened/Sharpened.

I’m sorry to say but this is not a hybrid, it’s basically a stamsorc with staff backbar which is used by some people 1-2 patches now.

And you’ll get more damage using meta sets like AY front bar and relequen body while still keeping DW/staff.

I won’t post that Wes, I’ll get [snipped] for the last time
