There are some talks about new races lately, people talk about daedric kind, maormers and some existing (yet unrepresented in the game) Tamriel species. But still no information about them from devs :/

Any new races are highly unlikely since it'd require changing too much dialogue in quests. Daedra least of all, since that'd make the entire crux of the main story pretty much impossible.

That's not happening, unless they'd make all non-daedra NPCs hostile to you.

The inhabitants of Lorkhan's realm are already Daedra.

Also no, a new race won't happen unless the main series adds another playable race.

Well if you asked me before this recent PTS I would of chuckled at the idea of us playing deadra. But with all the new models the humanoid deadra got.....well.......it does even look like there is customization on them as well when walking around fargrave.

Maybe not in the near future but maybe we might get the option to have the vestige as a non Tamriel being someday.

No. Daedra as playable race...is bad idea.

I'd like to see some new cool skins. Skins, that look normal, gives us some horns and ears and daedric skin and eye color. But ZoS gave us spiderkith and nothing more. Instead of "real" daedra skins we get strange things such as... well... everything in skins collection: some strange mutated skins with glowing, ugly textures etc. Even maormer skin had some scales -_- (yep, there are mutated maormers with scales, but they are even taller than standard maormers, so it is not even lore friendly).

    Greetings,
in my opinion Dremora race is highly probable. Whe have signs closer us to this race like cooperative NPC Lyranth, who also is avaiable as Houseguest. Addtional to this in Deadlands DLC we have City of Fargrave where people and dremora coexist.

For my guess, only race who devs can create as playable, who not interfere with ESO lore and exist as NPC are: Dremora, Maomer

I exclude races like goblins or falmers because they more feral and primitive.

It won't happen. ZOS needs to prioritize lore when it comes to stuff like that, and a Daedric race simply will not work in the context of many, if not most, quests. It'd be too much work changing everything.

Oh well that would save me money as would not pay to play as a Daedra/dremora. Makes ESO too much like a horror game than it already is.

(And Lyranth is not ‘cooperative’ she is totally using us for her own ends)

It does seem like we are getting another look into the society of the Daedra. With the next DLC and the next zones to become available we will definitely learn more about the Daedra.

However I'm on the fence if I'd want to make a playable daedric character. Would it be cool? Yes. But it would maybe take away some of the magic and mystery.

Furthermore they've always been the villains, more or less. Can you imagine players running around as Dremora in Wayrest or Craglorn? It would make things quite strange.

Lyranth is a very rare individual. I wouldn't say she is helping us, I'd say our interests are aligned, for now.

If a daedra became emperor of cyrodiil, don’t you think scholars would have taken note of that in the Es history books? That would be quite the history making event.

Also a deadra saving Vivek and sotha sil would be quite bizarre, lore wise as well.

If you want to roleplay a Daedra, maybe check out the Xivkyn polymorphs from Imperial City or purchased through guild stores.

However, you'll be somewhat stymied on certain quests where you have to be a mortal, not a daedra. Consider the Blackwood Prologue, "A Mortal's Touch, where Lyranth says:

"Unfortunately, the entrance has been warded to prevent anyone, including those of my kind, from passing through. I require a capable mortal to shatter the ward so we can see what's hidden inside."

You also meet several of these wards in the Blackwood zone story quests. Needless to say, a player of a Daedric race should be incapable of progressing on their own, which either makes for bad gameplay or a nasty plot hole.

It's not that ZOS is unwilling to introduce nasty plot holes - see the ridiculousness of known necromancers doing old quests for people violently opposed to necromancy - but that doesn't mean they need to add more to the game.

The simple answer to this is that a summoner generally has control over the Daedra they've summoned from Oblivion to serve them. While, yes, it would perhaps add more immersion to have NPCs in certain locations reacting to Sorcerer pets the same way they might to Necromancer summons, summoning Daedra to do one's bidding is more accepted generally than the summoning and creation of undead.

It's an entirely different thing to have a summoned, controlled Daedra walking around following their mortal summoner than having an actual Daedra free of any chains binding them to a specific mortal walking around.

Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

Pets that are controlled. In at least two different quests the penalty for summoning "uncontrolled" daedra is a death sentence. Sentient dremora with free will attempting to interact with npcs and quests would make no sense at all.

I love how people are saying that playing a daedra would be lore-breaking, and yet you can walk around the game as an animated skeleton, or wear the Xivkyn polymorph, or fight as a lava elemental complete with a skin that looks like lava.

There is a difference between gameplay worries and lore facts.

To walk in appearance of a skeleton is imposed on us (optional however) by an event.

Being a Daedra, a Maormer (especially on Summerset, or a living skeleton, is lore-breaking.
If you want to be one? Ok. But you will be chased by the guards in each town.

The ten races are very good.

I'd just be happy with a cosmetic pack (Skin, horn adornment, eyes) that could make you look like a daedra without resorting to a uncustomizable polymorph.

I made my own long ago via a costume.

And as a side note I also made a dwemmer.

Daedra or Dremora would be kinda cool. Maybe tune their skills to where they'd be anti-DK and anti-sorc.

I think the only way to make Daedra/Dremora playable is in a stand alone Elder Scroll title where they're the only ones playable.
