In that case the 5s delay after key press would make sense. It's in a long orbit around Nirn.
Beta tester since February 2014, played ESO-TU October 2015 - August 2022, currently on an extended break

When the Dragon breaks, the linear flow of time stops. It's utterly incomprehensible and not a fun time. It's also not really related to time travel - people from the Middle Dawn didn't suddenly pop up everywhen else throughout Tamriel far as I know.
Afterwards, time is mended thus that conflicting accounts and events can all be true.

I don't think that's what mainline means. Just because there are only 5 main TES games to date doesn't mean the others aren't important.

I think eso has a place in TES continuity. Whilst previous game may never refer to the three banners war. I can overlook it if they give it some good lore in TES 6 regarding it. In the period in which eso is set, tamriel prior to the game was bland.

ESO is part of the main canon timeline. Confirmed by pretty much everyone that has authority to do so.

I don't think that Dragon Breaks make time irrelevant. It makes time non-linear. Strictly speaking, it means that Cause can both precede and follow the Effect. It is still relevant, just not something that can be predicted.

Dragon Breaks are a Lore representation for any Elder Scrolls plot device that deals with situations where multiple things have happened in an inconvenient manner, or more recently, plots where time needs to loop because a writer thought it would be cool to do that and associate that with a Dragon Break.

There is no other non-canon "timeline" for Elder Scrolls, and no deviation in canonicity among any Elder Scrolls games - including Blades, Legends, Shadowkey, Battlespire, etc. If you call all of these mainline, then the word has no meaning.
Elder Scrolls 1-5 are not mainline titles because of their supposed place in canon (which has a loose definition in TES as it is), but because of the type of game they are.

Rubble Butte in Bangkorai is the place that's stuck in time as you've described. That's also just a few hours of time-looping.

To do that on a landmass scale would need something like Numidium 2.0. Also broken linear time will be fixed within a millenia or two by Akatoshi Jills, in all probability an ESO-era dragonbreak would be fixed by the time of TES6.

If you just wanna have a place stuck in the Second Era, there's ways to do that without the lore complications of a dragon break. You could cryofreeze like the Falinesti Winter Site questline, or move the area to a Daedric plane where time flows differently.

Depends if the next game is set after Skyrim wouldn't there already be Dragons back in the wild thanks to Alduin resurrecting a lot of them, doubt the Dragonborn wiped them all out, if you spared Paarthurnax quite a few gathered around him as a sort of leader near the end from what I remember.

Goes down to what the developers consider the canon outcome of Skyrim was for whatever lore they include in the next one.

Would not surprise me if they include a bunch of Easter eggs related to ESO in Elder scrolls 6.

I think you can be sure of that. ESO has contributed a massive amount of Lore to the Elder Scrolls.

So, it seems like everyone else here understands, but... What exactly are you proposing here, OP?

I know what a dragon break is. I'm not sure what a "dragon break continent that is connected to ESO" is. Are you saying, imagine that TES 6 takes place in the Tamriel of ESO, but in a different timeline? Are you saying, imagine if you could take your TES 6 character into ESO? Are you saying something else entirely?

"XBox exclusive", these days, refers to other consoles. Especially since basically all MS releases come out cross-buy between XBox & PC in the Windows Store. Or free with Game Pass.

So, yeah. There'll be a PC version.

A Dragon Break was an ingenious workaround for the specific problem of Daggerfall's multiple endings. It has since been used to solve similar problems, and as a fan favourite to explain everything under the moons plus the colour of Vivec's bed sheets.

Like with everything, overusing it makes it stale and boring. It already borders on being overused, and it's been overused to the Deadlands and back in fan speculations.

    So ... please, just no.
