Can we have more character slots in the near or distant horizon?

Despite how jacked up I think the recent CP system has changed to, I am still glad the game had changed for the better to increase the 810 CP number that was stuck for a long time. I had made numerous thread inquiries for that change to the CP number increases, and that change was needed and a long time coming. Now.. 3600 is a long time away for players, such as I, who aren't able to play as much as others. However, ESO has been a bit more enjoyable for me whenever I can get on. Just frolicking around and doing zone dailies for the XP needed to increase the CP number. It's an aspect of an entertainment as what a video game is intended to be. Hey.. you play what contents that suit you, and what you enjoy.

Now, another good change is needed. Our character slots has been stuck at 18 for a long time now. I would like to see 2 more slots, at least, to be added in the horizon; perhaps with the next chapter. 20 is a good number; looks better than 18. Ha ha. After 6 years of playtimes (somewhat moderate, but still dedicated to ESO gameplay,) my bliss when playing ESO have always been creating a new character to roam and frolick around greater Tamriel doing whatever to increase the levels and skillsets while killing things, looting things, and grabbing skyshards and mage lorebooks. I had deleted countless time of characters just to make room to create new ones. However, for the past couple of years, I just cannot make myself delete anymore of my characters. I have come to love and enjoy them all. So, if we are able to get just two more character slots, those new characters would surely hold me off for a long time to come. Likely more time to dedicate to ESO (and perhaps something more to crown crates and crown store items. Hint.. hint.

) Ha ha

So, how about 2 more character slots, good ZOS and dev folks. You peeps are awesome. You can doooo it!

This one understands they have informally said no before because of system and database issues.

However this one would like at least four more kittens for the flowing reasons:

She has many names ready - many little Claws formed in her mind that just wait to live!

18 lots of crafting quests a day during the Anniversary Festival still just isn't enough.

This one is running out of public dungeons to do and if we get future companions that still only level via combat experience then this one needs more kittens to do more public dungeons - alternatively some daily quests that reward companion xp would help a bit.

The more houses there are the more kittens are needed to run the various family businesses and religious establishments. No more kittens to do the work then how can this one justify buying more houses?

The same with mounts - how can this one buy more if there is no one to use them?

So if at all possible please this one would still like a much bigger family.

For what it's worth, I've only been playing for about five months and I'm already at 10/18, almost all maxed and champing at the bit for more with all the double XP events on the heels of one another.

With that number at five *months*, I can only imagine what it feels like for people capped at 18 for over five *years*...

I guess they already making armory to battle problems we have with only 18 slots which is an issue for really dedicated players exclusively.

We know that database can't handle any more right now and if we'll get some spare "space" I'd better take more housing/bank/inventory slots myself instead.

You can of course play on both servers and get another 18 on the other server. Currently on 27.. and no it's not enough. The armoury assistant will help a bit for some where it's about role rather than class/race.

You can of course play on both servers and get another 18 on the other server. Currently on 27.. and no it's not enough. The armoury assistant will help a bit for some where it's about role rather than class/race.

Khajiit already has about six on the US server ...

But they do not have any of the family houses or possessions so mostly they are there so I always have one of my own on the PTS.

Not a game developer but I always wonder how database can’t handle more character slots yet it can handle numerous unique instances of different huge houses with like 100 various houses in game and counting.

Guess that's one of the problems why new class probably won't be anytime soon. They've also talked about inability to add new animations so here we are.

Second hand info, but probably more recent Firor's interview as it was pretty big. Overall they were unable to fit new ones because bloating and were refining old /unused ones at the time because of said problems.

That, and as I have said before, people always like to say that the database can't handle more character slots, so "just" buy another account (which is an unsatisfactory response for many reasons). They are a private business, and I don't fault them for trying to make more money. But I would buy additional items from the crown store if I had more characters. As it is, I have all the outfits, mounts, cosmetics, pets, etc., that I want or could possibly use on my existing characters. At this point, I'm not even sure I'm going to buy the next chapter-- and I say that as someone who has always preordered, and until this year, always bought the collector's edition-- because I prefer to start new chapters with a new character. That's why I almost didn't preorder Blackwood, and basically regret that I did end up preordering. I won't make that mistake again.

So they are losing money on me at this point by not offering additional character slots. The bare minimum should be one new slot per chapter.

Barring them adding another class, I don't see them expanding the player slots...I would like more as well.

With the Armory changed the need for alts will diminish significantly, but hopefully if they introduce a new class they will also give away some class/race/faction change tokens.

Once armory goes live I would love to change a bunch of my characters to Khajit and would need 6 fewer slots to cover everything.

I don’t understand how it would be any additional burden to add character slots since they obviously do want to add accounts, which are character slots and more, and it’s not like when you’re logged onto one character you can access info or inventory from any others. And other MMO’s have higher character slot maximums.

It must be that having more accounts is of more value to ZOS and enough people who want more characters will get additional accounts? Or so long as they do, the extra burden is worth it but not otherwise? I love creating additional characters but consider carefully before deciding to definitively keep and invest in them as at that point, it is for me a slot permanently committed and I have no interest in starting additional accounts without access to all I’ve collected.

i would like more character slots, 2 more, 4 more...6 more! but i don't see it happening. maybe it will.

another alternative, although not as attractive, would be to be able to create a new account and have your accounts linked, so that everything you have in your first account can be transferred and available in the second one, for example, all your collectables, motifs, gear, homes, etc. even better if your unlocked and purchased dlc was available also. all you'd have to do is pay for a new game. well, this might be a bit much, what i'm suggesting. but some kind of link would be nice. instead of having to start completely from scratch

Thanks. Thats kind of a bummer, but if they are refreshing old ones, that might breath some life into it.
I am kinda bummed about no new slots, and if that means no new classes it really bums me (I really want to play an engineer/tinkerer in a game).
But I personally still have 3 open slots and a mule that I could lose if I had to.

I want to try my hands at a dk heal (yes yes crazy I know you're going to say) I only have 1 dk who is already a tank and no other dk chars (and no I'm not deleting any of my other chars).

Honestly, I just want to be able to level low level toons and have some of the XP - not all of it, but some! - still contribute towards CP.

They can stop by and hang out at my Sleek Creek home if they want. The pond is stocked, fishing poles are provided. Plenty to drink, fish roasting over a fire and a skooma shack available for a bit (small bit) of privacy. If the wanted poster is one of them just cover it with something while there.

You are right. The idea that we can’t have more character slots as it will overload the database or whatever, whilst actively encouraging new players/accounts does not make sense.
