Were you generally engaged as a player in the main story quest lines of Chapters / DLC content?

Main story quest lines and the final boss encounters are engaging enough for me.
My list of main quests engagements:
    1. Wrothgar
    2. Murkmire
    3. Guilds
    4. Summerset
    5. Skyrim/Reach
    6. the rest
    7. 3 banners war - it gets old really fast, but it felt good returning there after finishing some daedra epic main quest.

It doesn't mean I didn't like side quests there.

    EDIT:
I don't want to hurt any devs - so I have to say that it doesn't mean I didn't like the quests themselves in some parts, but just something there kept me out of fully enjoying it - like incosistences in story, some questionable characters and so on.
All the boss battles felt good, only in Skyrim the vampire as lesser boss, who was suppose to be the oldest and strongest vampire in Skyrim, dies quite fast - they could be more careful about that, but still I enjoyed the main NPCs, so it was still good enough. While in Elsweyr the lack of explanation, Abnur Tharn weird behaviour - that was a bit dissapointing, I don't like when some well written character is treated like that.

Some comments about a few of the games I have tried: I look at games like Witcher 3(about halfway through it now), and while I don't think the combat is as polished as it could be, it is challenging. The cutscenes feel like a Hollywood movie. The world is vast and challenging to explore. Your decisions matter.

Honestly speaking after the Witcher all other games sound like a rip-off. Especially eso's chapters, that's just insane.

Alas, all the Witcher games feature this Geralt dude, who I can't stand. (Played W1, own W2 from the same sale a decade ago, still haven't downloaded it)

Combat frequently gets in the way of questing & story (especially when they do annoying stuff like having important exposition while you're fighting things, so you can't pay attention to it), so it's not really an issue for me. Plus, as I said, not being a Combat Guru, I don't plow through it like wet tissue paper, so... /shrug

Gun to my head, my favorite game is of course the original Legend of Zelda. First open world game I ever played, and still feel the need to save the princess about once a year. HAHA

After that, it is probably Morrowind or Skyrim. Skyrim is a better game, but morrowind will always have a place in my heart. I nearly broke my hip snowboarding my last year of college, and was unable to properly ambulate for about a month. Morrowind got me through that.

The best game I have ever played is probably Witcher 3. It has become a standard by which I judge other games. It might not be my personal favorite, but the game is simply spectacular, and I know greatness when I see it. Wish I could say the same about that netflix series. Yikes...

Witcher 3 is definitely the best game I've played overall, combat, storytelling etc. it's should be a standard for a modern game but yeah if I'd be taking only one game for remaining time of my life it would be something different hehe.

My first one was Diablo 2 and probably the only game I will be playing for years to come still since like 20 years from release, probably one of the reasons I found eso action-RPG like combat good. But would place Elder Scrolls right after as a bit later addition at school years as Morrowind and Oblivion were my main games for a long time before I actually picked up ESO, just hated MMOs and was on a verge joining. My mistake so to say. But it's probably the last one I'd be playing, at least not as much as eso for the last 4 years or so. Not sure I'd be able to invest as much in any other universe but elder scrolls one.

I enjoyed the quest line, but the battle with Molag Bal definitely needs work (his minions are tougher than he is).

    Silivren (Silly) Thalionwen | Altmer Templar | Magicka | 9-Trait Master Crafter/Jeweler | Master Angler | PVE Main - Killed by U35
Jahsul at-Sahan | Redguard Sorcerer | Stamina | Werewolf - Free Bites | PVP Main
Derrok Gunnolf | Redguard Dragonknight | Stamina | Werewolf - Free Bites
    Liliana Littleleaf | 9-Trait Grand Master Crafter/Jeweler (non-combat)
Amber Emberheart | Breton Dragonknight | Stamina | Master Angler
Vlos Anon | Dunmer Nightblade | Magicka | Vampire - Free Bites
Kalina Valos | Dunmer Warden | Magicka | Vampire - Free Bites
    Swiftpaws-Moonshadow | Khajiit Nightblade | Stamina
Morgul Vardar | Altmer Necromancer | Magicka

That's because you keep giving his minions more practice.

Other (not playing it, would play if ..., etc.)
The only thing I disliked about questing is the lack of gear drops that made it impossible to progress at my level. Skills were up to par, though.

So i gained 2 to 3 levels by completing a few zone story quests. By then I lacked the gold to tweak my armor/weapons and keep the pace of my character's level.

Then I fell in love with making gold and tweaking armor sets. And that took most of my time by farming mats.

Took me a year and a half to figure out that my level 3 self was 2 times more powerful then my level 50 self.

    That was disheartening to experience.

That is also when I learned that it is pointless to farm for gear until level 50/cp160.

So I tried many things to get to that level with my alts.

Questing was no longer engaging, since it was a time sink with no valuable rewards.

So I turned to PVP for fast leveling.
    That's it, that's all.

    .

Didn't take me quite that long, but yeah.... As a WoW and RIFT "refugee" I was..... shocked at how the higher level I obtained, the weaker I was. A totally different experience from my previous MMOs.

Good thing I've played TES since Arena released. If I hadn't the background in the single player games, and a real love for the lore, I'd probably not have stuck around. The only previous MMO games I played were diametrically opposed to ESO. But now that I'm more grounded here, I'm fine with it.
