I keep running across posts by players who state they don't log on or actively play any more, but still post on the forums. I'm not going to ask why players post if they are no longer playing, but all are welcome to add comments if they wish. I am just curious how common this is. I will keep this poll anonymous.

I get on every day to fill the guild store, train a few characters at the stables and do writs on 5 toons. Takes about an hour.

Some days that's all I do, some I play anywhere from another 1-6 hours.

Weird thing with this game is the less I play the more gold I end up with. If I'm just doing that bare minimum I'm still making plenty of gold but I'm not really spending any.

It's like the opposite of the other online game I play (GTA) where I'm essentially getting paid by the minute just for playing.

I login a couple times a year to check things out like client performance (which has gotten significantly better as in doubled recently) and collect my mail. Overland difficulty has been trivialized to warrant playing at this time. The most difficult thing about overland is distance traveled from one quest marker where I one shot enemies to another quest marker where I do the same.

I don't play as much as I used to. A couple of years ago, I would've been playing 5-6 hours on days I didn't work. Though recently I've been playing much less due to computer issues - the new desktop PC has turned out to be a bit of a lemon, sadly.

Looking forward to the Deadlands DLC though!

I'm on break right now binge playing Diablo 2R single player with my old edited characters (1000 stats, 500 skill points) it's more fun now with controller support. I bulk crafted 15 days worth of 7 daily writs on my 18 characters so I still collect the daily login stuff and do my writs. It takes less than an hour to go through them all with everything pre-crafted, I'll open the bags when I run out of mats at the end.

I play almost every day. Usually around 3-5 hours. Most of the time is spent in doing dailies, harvesting, crafting and trying to furnish yet another house... ^^;; There are days when I do nothing but chase Treasure Chests.
Since I have two monitors, I can sort of keep one eye on the forum and the other on the game... :)

But I'm part of the silent minority. I read, but I don't often post or respond.

    That’s why they have
Vet Dungeons/Vet DLC Dungeons/ Vet Trials / Vet Arenas that all have more difficult enemies and bosses.

Have you completed all the Vet content? Oh wait, that’s right, you don’t play the game anymore except to log-on a few times a year.

Though you do seem to play the forums....🤷🏻‍♀️

For harder overland go to Cyro and fight the trashmobs {Zergs} solo.

*Also, your mail is gone after 30 days....so

Seems you have some weird bone to pick with me because I don't play the game as a result of the power creep ZOS is responsible for. You did it in this thread and you did it in another thread suggesting the very thing that would get me playing again. That's ridiculous and it's a toxic, divisive mentality that has no place on these forums as I am sure the moderators would agree.

Which is a fringe minority of the content we pay for every year. The overland is the majority of their content offerings and it's what I enjoy and currently it's not enjoyable. beyond a certain point of progression. Seems like something they might want to address.

After a bout of isp internet issues, a glitch in my pc that required a reinstall of Windows, all the fun of getting my files back from Carbonite, and however long it will take me to reinstall the game if it wasn't backed up, I'll be able to play again. It has been rather aggravating, actually.

Because there's something in particular that's keeping you from enjoying the game you used to enjoy very much. At least that's the justification in my case. Why would I throw my hands up in the air and not try to air my grievances if it actually had a shot at being fixed?

I did not demonize you in anyway I was having a civil discussion about a topic you committed on. That is what the forums are for. You don’t answer any questions or seem to really want to discuss the topic in civil manner.

Also, you have made several inconsistent remarks....such as you do not play the game due to the overland being too easy. Now your saying it is because of the power creep.

I said my opinion and asked you honest questions. And yes, I do not believe the ZOS should not cater to people that do not play the game.

That is not toxic in anyway, that’s just common sense.

    •I have eso plus
•I have played the game since beta
•I enjoy playing the game daily

It’s a beautiful game and I like the new players that are coming in every week.

The changes your asking for would take away from those players and take away resources much needed for the game.

I don't know about you guys but quoting my words in this thread as ammunition to suggest that I'm not worth listening to in any capacity because I don't play the game much in a entirely different thread discussing and suggesting the very thing that would address the sole thing keeping me from playing the game on a daily basis doesn't seem very civil to me.

Because it's just a video game. Play one you do enjoy. Life's too short to waste on some dumb video game you don't like imo. If enough people agree with you, it will change and you can come back. If not, at least you didn't waste your time and energy on an entertainment product that has no interest being the one you want when you could have been playing something you liked better, and that most people who play that game enjoy the way it is. At least that's my opinion.

Eh, no need for that! I played both WoW and RIFT the same (though in those MMOs I also raided with my family guilds nearly every night - so a LOT more hours, and that's why I've been so burned out that I just don't do that here).

My name here on the forum is a nod to my last very much loved old kitty (20 years), who died in her sleep in January 2015. We have an "only doggie" now - a 7 year old Brit, who's never had to share our attention and love, and while I miss my kitties, I'm not willing to upset Libby....

I'm long retired, just have a couple of website clients left, so I get to play as much as I like, and spend what I wish to spend. I love TES, and ESO is definitely part of that love. We all just need to get along, y'know?
  • AlexanderDeLarge

You act as if MMOs are releasing left right and center. Even if they were, TESO is part of a small subgenre of MMOs that have horizontal progression consisting of only
    1.)Guild Wars 1
    2.)Guild Wars 2
    3.)The Elder Scrolls
as part of it. Before you suggest I leave to go play those, I already do on rotation.

Also how are things supposed to change to my benefit when you have mentalities such as the above where anyone who isn't playing is irrelevant regardless of why they're not playing and that mentality goes unchallenged?
No thanks, I think I'll say.
