During the course of prologue, Lyranth has us drink a potion to disguise us as Devastator Rullen. In the redundant dialogue with her, she tells you that you will "look just like him when he was alive". Except Rullen has a mustache and goatee and your disguised form is clean shaven!! Lol!! Oops!!

When I mentioned the "redundant" dialogue, it seems that we are sufferers of "short term memory loss". SO much writing is "Who are you? Why are we doing this? Why are we here? etc".
It is really off putting at times that we are so dumb that we have to ask about a conversation or action that we just did, but magically forgot in 5 minutes.
There is another thread here that discusses this~
https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/581723/does-the-game-wants-to-make-me-feel-like-an-idiot/p1

Just my observation that the last few chapters have slowly had less meaningful and redundant writing and discussions with NPC's, more invisible walls, more unexplorable areas, etc.
I still love ESO, but compared to early DLC's and stories, these are lacking IMO.
Just my 2 drakes.
Huzzah!!

Yeah that line of dialogue was off putting. I just got the alchemical ingredients and my character has to ask “what we are doing”?

I get why the “questions” are there, sometimes players have to stop a quest and pick it up at a later time due to RL issues.

But the “why are we doing this” question should be optional “skip able” lines, not the mandatory type this quest had.

    Long story short, agreed 100%.

    Agree 100%

    - players have to ask the same redundant and obvious things over and over again, like blueraven wrote, making these parts optional would help.
    - the story is absolutley linear with no choices, players just klick through the dialogues and not matter which answer line they click, the result is in the end always the same.
    - there are many forced dialogue option which absolutely make no sense or are contrary to the lore and common knowledge. would you tell someone who thinks the dark brotherhood is responsible for murders the person is investigating, that you are a member of the DB? That makes absolutely no sense.

ZEN seems to go the least effort path with new chapters / DLC and also does not really care about the story.

Was anyone else surprised how short the quest chain was? I honestly thought I somehow bugged the quest out, I thought it was only half over when it finished.

I thought we've estalished this, the vestige is an idiot.

We are roleplaying as an idiot with severe brain damage and memory loss problems. Oh also an idiot that will do anything for money, and too dumb to figure out someone's gonna betray them. A gold loving idiot.

To be fair, how many blows to the head has our respective characters taken throughout the game? More than half of the toons running around have their helms hidden, so that probably doesn't help, either.

The “why are we doing this” should be answered in the running quest narrative in the journal, which should be several paragraphs in length per quest.

    — Who are you again?
    — Lyranth the dremora.
    — Who is dremora?
    — Daedra.
    — Who is daedra?
    — Aren't you a sorceress? You should know it.
    — What is sorceress?
    — Are you mocking me, mortal!? Sorceress are the one who summons daedra!
    — Who is daedra again?

That was one of the things that was bad about the Blackwood MQ - not helped by the annoying perky woodelf being the one who did it - the constant repetition of the plot so far etc.

You just finish doing one quest task, speak to person & get reward, and then (usually) have to click on whomever to start next bit & they go into a long exposition of what you have *just* done.

If you have to have explanations for the very forgetful, then at least, please god, make them OPTIONAL.

I can tolerate a fair bit of "Wait, what was I doing?" dialogue in between quests. With all the events going on, it's easy to take a week or longer in between quests.

But seriously, writers, if you think I'm going to forget what I'm doing during the same quest...

Maybe that's a sign your quest is too long, too convoluted, or too confusing, and you need to go back to the drawing board. And if it's none of the above, then cut the reminders.

What this one cannot fathom, is that all those dialogues are happening at an outlaws refuge with everyone eavesdropping.

But not matter how the next DLC will be, guess we will react like that:
