I seem to have shifted my view to perhaps it being Mephala based on something that I saw but which may be a coincidence.

Mephala had her time in the Daedric Triad storyline. We even got to go to the Spiral Skein.

I think we could well see more of Mephala in 2021, which would make 2022 less of possibility for her.

Kinda hoping for more Vaermina as we only got to see so much in Stormhaven's storyline.

Edit: Or a plot twist that somehow makes us the villain. But since I haven't been engrossed in a storyline at all since the base game? Eeeh.

I wish so much that we could venture out to new shores and leave Tamriel behind. My favorite would be Thras and an evil Sload leader as opponent.
And while we're sailing around, including some nice sea battles, we could go to Pyandonea too and even play a Maormer.

Would prefer a threat that's not "the latest supernatural god-like entity that threatens the existence of Tamriel."

Something like a local warlord or political power struggle would make for a nice change of pace. I was really enjoying the Euraxia Tharn storyline until it began to involve necromancers and dragons. I also feel that Blackwood didn't need to be about Mehrunes Dagon in order to make for a good story. The presence of the Imperial Elder Council (a potential for an excellent story in itself) was rendered into little more than a side note.

I'd like it to be something more mortal and less supernatural. Political intrigue, maybe the threat of another war (not in cyrodiil) something that maybe requires diplomacy. Something heavily story driven. I'm just kinda burnt out on the daedra.

Something for the Covenant races, maybe?

So far we've gotten two Pact area chapters (Morrowind + Greymoor), two Dominion area (Summerset + Elsweyr), and one in Cyrodiil (Blackwood).

I suppose Orsinium might have been a Chapter if Chapters had been a thing back then, but even if you count that the Covenant are still down one compared to the other two alliances.

How about opening up some more of Hammerfell, or is that off-limits until TES VI ? B)

That could be interesting. Perhaps one of the factions want out of the covenant, while the other does not - meaning that the struggle would not only be about local politics, but also involve the three banners war indirectly. It could be a whole mess of a soup with agents from all three flags trying to meddle and intervene to get the redguards to stay or leave the Covenant. A small local conflict that grows and becomes far more complex.

Now, obviously nothing will happen in the big meta, but the result don't need to be clean and happy for that. Mmm, juicy idea!

herma mora had enough screentime in skyrim, which has been rereleased 7 times now. Sheogorath was pretty fleshed out in Oblivion, and jyggalag only comes out in the end of an era with the greymarch. I agree with Sanguine since he is underdeveloped, and Meridia will def be a villian in the future.

Hammerfell? Conflict between the Crowns and the Forbears, but someone exploits that and takes over Hammerfell for a brief period of time. I know this just sounds like what happened during TES: Redguard, but this isn't Tiber Septim. You will have to force the Crowns and Forbears to agree for once, trying to force out the big bad person out of Hammerfell. It would be cool to see Sword-singers, though I doubt that would ever happen.

Nibenay or Colovia? I can see something relating to a long forgotten Ayleid threat. Not Umaril, but maybe Mannimarco or some other powerful necromancers were messing around in Ayleid ruins and accidentally raised something, like the Undead Lich King of Atatar for example. Maybe

Skyrim? Lycanthropy. The Companions would have to deal with it, as a nod to Skyrim's companions questline. Instead of just werewolves, Hircine is involved as we only really see him in Bloodmoon's main questline.

Eastern Morrowind? I have no idea on this one. Maybe the Anticipations are messing with everyone and the Tribunal are mad. This is the only thing I can come up with.

Black Marsh? Though this chapter would be very unlikely, maybe something is interfering with the Hist, and the Argonians have to adapt to living without their connection to the Hist while simultaneously fighting off a threat, the Dunmer for example.
"What a fool you are. I'm a god. How can you kill a god? What a grand and intoxicating innocence. How could you be so naive? There is no escape. No Recall or Intervention can work in this place. Come. Lay down your weapons. It is not too late for my mercy" — Dagoth Ur

We talking about ESO. Not Bethesda single games. Yes, I noticed Sheo in Mages Guild quest line and Hermaeus Mora in Craglorn. But it's not enough. Imagine new trial and dungeons in Apokrypha or Shivering Isles. Will be nice.

Personally I don't want to see Werewolves vampires, necromancers, or undead in storylines. They are becoming a bit redundant across the zones.

I would love to see something with more politics. Just regular citizens of tamriel fighting against another in a clever and interesting way. Magic can be involved and that's fine.

If daedric princes need to be involved, I would love to see a combination of Vaermina, Hermaeous Mora, and Sanguine. Perhaps they team up and wreak havoc across the political landscape of a new zone.

Sanguine can be a high ranking political person in disguise and corrupts others via his smooth talking ways. Vaermina poses an existential and psychological threat, meanwhile hermaeous mora is feeding off some secret ancient knowledge. And they're all in it together.

This is just a random 5 minute brainstorm idea ofcourse, and lore implications and history needs to be considered. But something unique along these lines would be nice.

I'm just tired of seeing undead skeletons and zombies, werewolves, vampires, and necromancers.

The triad collab was fine, but I don't want to see allied interactions between princes in the future. I agree that there is a lack of mundane plots without global threats, like Orsinium or Murkmire

No, we never see anymore villains like King Kurog without pure evil motifs. MORE PURE EVIL for this game. Why we need villains with ambiguous motives, its boring (NO). Let give us PURE EVIL who would Destroy or conquer world (NO).

I do wish there were more storylines like that! Complex characters and stories that don’t focus on a totally evil villain are much more interesting! The only thing that could have made Wrothgar’s story even better IMHO is if you could choose sides at the end, not that most of my characters would choose differently, buy having a choice makes it better and also adds to replay value.

Normaly ZOS will add some clues into the last DLC of the year and rumours are often point into the right direction. I heard nothing so far.

For me some I like to see what the Nightingales are up tn in this era. Quest forthe Bow of Shadows ? perhaps. Back to the realm of Noctural.... So many options without chaperting it down to a map-piece of Tamriël

Time traveling (like Alduin in Skyrim) to a point n time to solve time distortion... many, many options....

Or ZOS just take a year event on fixing stuff....

Nooo, please, he has already had a large role in ESO and a whole DLC would be too much! It’s not that I haven’t enjoyed his quests, but he is best in small doses.

Hermaeus Mora seems interesting to me, especially if he wasn’t the villain, but perhaps some of his followers or someone who stole an artifact or the like. I think he cares only about knowledge and not one way or the other about mortals, although I’m sure there is lore I’m not aware of, so it might be interesting if his role was more ambiguous as to whether he was a villain, circumstantial ally, or both.

There can be a Daedric theme. But without there being physical or direct intervention of a prince.
We could favor a politico-religious intrigue like Orsinium.

Colovia provides a good setting. Devout people and closely linked to the Eight. There has been a strong Daedric trend in recent years and the rulers appear to be corrupt.

For Hammerfel, I lack knowledge. But there can be a fierce rivalry with challenges to Fahara'jad's power. There can be a split of the kingdom, like Skyrim.

Assuming the next zone is Hammerfell, I'd like more lore on either the Sinestral Elves or faeries. Both Have multiple mentions in lore but have never appeared. True Faeries are more associated with Valenwood and High Rock, but Hammerfell is right between the two.
As for Sheo, I think a Dungeon pack would work best with him. One part Mania, one part Dementia. That way you can also incorporate the Amber and Madness motifs without dedicating a whole zone.

If Akatosh is going to be a central theme next year - then if any Dardric Prince is going to be involved, I want Peryite to get more focus.

I read somewhere that there is actually a connection between the two

Akatosh and Peryite would be an interesting pair for a Chapter, considering they're both associated with dragon iconography and Peryite has been working in the background for quite a while now.

I was also thinking if it's finally time to see Meridia back, maybe assaulting Aetherius or trying to mantle Magnus. It would make for a different Daedric story arc than your usual Tamriel interference/invasion.

With Hammerfell, devs could do amazing things.
But I'm afraid the script and the villain are mundane. Whether it's recycling what Zos already offers us.

There can be some very interesting things. A sect that has existed since Yokuda and which was exported with the Ra Gada. Which governed the conservative phylosophy of some redguards. And when we realize it and put an end to this sectarian threat, we give up revealing the nature of this phylosophy to avoid disturbing the population.

It's an example. There can be a lot of interesting things. But the end result will undoubtedly be banal.
