Voriplasm fragments and what makes a gold coffer better than a purple

After my second gold coffer with plunder and little else, I decided to head over to the Impressario to get some fragments, since I was cursing my RNG. Imagine my surprise when the reason I wasn't getting any fragments was because I already had this pet from the murkmire event last year. Great. Wish I could of got the other fragments because I didn't get that emote, but I'm not even really mad about it. More tickets for furniture, and unstable morph fragments, I guess.

But what I was a tad bothered by was the fact that the gold coffers.. don't contain anything. Like, whats the point? I mean I guess if you missed that event you'll be getting fragments and everything is great, but for most of us, the coffers just have.. the same stuff as the purple coffers that I got for killing a boss over and over again.

I don't have the voriplasm pet and did not get any fragments in the first two gold coffers on either NA nor EU. So that's not the reason for not getting anything nice. I think I got a piece of furniture and a purple companion staff.

I don't think the gold coffers actually have different content this event, just a higher chance of the nicer things than purple.

I already have the pet as well. But I think I got motif pages that I needed, so I was happy about that. I'll keep a better eye on it for the rest of the event.

I got a statue yesterday and a jewelry box furnishing today.

I'm not sure if I have the voriplasm already. I would never use it.

Yeah my gold box yesterday was a purple vase (which apparently lots of people are getting), a blue treasure, and a green treasure. Woot?

Got a furnishing plan in the gold box. Going to buy lots of beds so that every alfiq house guest has their own.

Gold means a better chance at getting a rarer item, not a guarantee that you will get an item you want or need. Purple seem to give better items only because you get more of them

I've gotten nothing but junk treasure to sell & 2 companion items. I've got better rewards from blue coffers

The so-called “Glorious” coffers have been anything but that in this event and the last one.

Also, if I’m going to spend tickets for something, it should be furnishing plans, not one single furnishing.

So far the only plan I got from any coffer is a lousy green Leyawiin plan that I probably already know on all my toons, despite the terrible drop rate when farming.

Very disappointed.

I used the chance to decorate my pantherfang chapel, as you get these leyawiin items for junk prices in guildstores:

double bed
vase
chest
jewelry box

The only really cool item (I got 1, playing on 2 servers), is the golden statue.
Voriplasm I already have, and as most players I see are >CP 1000, I guess they have it too, from Murkmire.

What remains of interest, are a few purple companion items, unfortunately off-trait, so a cheap blue one from the store is the better choice.

I guess this explains, why the amount of players I see now has already decreased drastically. Even on the crowded xbox NA server often just 3 players against a boss, while at the first day there were 20.

I have the pet but have gotten no fragments or furniture, despite wanting the furniture. The gold coffers aren’t “guaranteed” to have anything, and my best rewards were things that drop from the Leyawiin coffers.

Yeah, gold bags in this event are a disaster. Seriously, i am getting much better stuff from purple & blue sacks -_-
Which is weird, because during last few events, golden packs were always dropping some nice stuff from impresarion or motifs. But now... Nothing.

I played every day of Murkmire event and have been playing every day of Blackwood so far. Still have not completed voriplasm pet. Extra annoying in that you cannot trade with other players for pieces. Almost feels like drop rate is artificially low, and getting it from other players is cut off, to force you to buy pieces from Impresario using event tickets.

I would have expected the gold coffers to at least give a furnishing design or a motif or... something. I just opened today's and got:

1 Undaunted Plunder
Bog Raider's Shield
Green treasure item worth 100 gold

So 1.1k gold and a single set item that is also basically worthless.

(Also I wish they had brought back the grave stake memento.... I got the pet from the Murkmire event, but was left on 6/7 fragments for that - would have been nice to finish it just to get it out of my list after so long.)

I'm actually fine with this. Less stuff to chase this time around AND the chance for newer players to catch up.

I bought the new mount on Day 1, rebuilt Morpholith pet on Day 1, and I can spend all my tickets buying the fragments to rebuild the pet at the end of the year. This is good.

(Although a Blackwood Treasure Map as a guaranteed reward from the Gold Coffers would have been nice.)

I've yet to get anything worth keeping so far, sadly the best item I've gotten was a blue companion gear that got sold immediately to a vendor

I haven't gotten a gold statue or jewelry box, but I've gotten that ugly vase twice. Lots of frostbite and bog raider pieces, but the best companion item I've gotten has been blue. It wasn't a piece I'd use in his current configuration and I don't have the inventory space to keep it. Gold coffers haven't been especially interesting for me either.

Same! I have all but one piece of the pet and I've gotten every single one from a purple or blue coffer. I've had four black fun legion motifs drop from those as well, and a bunch of blue and purple furnishing plans.

Have gotten nothing of note from the gold ones...

I've also gotten fewer items/cheaper items from the Gold Coffers vs the purple. I wonder if there is a mistake like during the Year One Event when ZOS said *some* people (but not all) weren't getting the guaranteed style page drops but others had no problem. They had to tweak something and it was fixed.
Am I (we) unlucky and there's another glitch in the drop table, or are the gold boxes just supremely underwhelming? Like above, 2 pieces of treasure worth 1.1k and a green set item. I get better rewards from the purple coffers I get from picking flowers & fireflies
