Class Specific Questline/Storyline

ESO has a very flexible and diverse questline, where each player can experience the game in a different manner and at their specific pace. We have a questline and a story for almost every cult/group/zone/faction/dlc/guild/race which already represents a significant amount of content to get through. What we do not have however, are CLASS SPECIFIC quests and storylines.

Examples below:

Wardens - a Storyline revolving around an event where all wardens return to morrowind

Dragonknights - a storyline on how DKs hone their skills in stonefalls under the fire mountain

Sorcerers - a storyline on how sorcs harnessed daedric power and infused it with lightning

Nightblades - a storyline on an annual contest where NBs test their skills to be the best

Necromancers - a storyline on how the first necromancers obtained their skills and tie it with the bad rep they get in town

Templars - a storyline on how templars get introduced to the light by the worshipping Aedra

My examples are very crude and I am certainly not a lore master but you should get the rough idea. Tied in to this idea would be on how a new character actually chooses his class.
You would first make a character(race & physical appearance only), spend up to for example lvl 20 classless, then you get introduced to the various classes and depending upon which storyline you finish, you enrol into that class.

Such storylines would also help to fill in certain lore voids that are prevalent in the game.

that would be pretty solid. i'd be down with that kind of quest that expands upon the lore of our classes. i'd just hope that it may give us a class unique armor piece akin to a mythic.

Perhaps they should grant skills earlier but widen the gap between each skill level.

Heavy/Light attack weapon skill. You don't actually need anything else.

Interesting idea. Rather than class or race specific quests, what I'd love to see is role specific quests or even role specific paths for the same quest. My elf has the role of healer slotted in her group finder. When someone is injured, don't send to her out to fetch herbs for a poutice; ask her to heal the darn patient! When giving an escort mission, give her a glass cannon to heal as they go. Those things could be path variations for existing quests. Full quests that are geared for her role would be most welcome as well. :)

    Yeah, also thought about it.

But more like "Arena", one for each class, with 3 stages, each could be passed with help of one particular skill three. At the end, after final vet HM boss, you can switch your class to another ;p

Just say we need narrative class quests like in SWTOR, bet that is what you had in mind anyway haha  . I am up for it anytime.

Sounds like a great idea but I doubt they will make it happen. :/

Would be nice if they gave class specific weapons too based on class theme: Fire, Light, Shadow, Lightning, Nature & Ice or something.

yeah class specific sets would be pretty cool. kinda like how they did it for weapon skills.

I was leading into that idea, but I kind of wanted to see the response on this first.

I would love the idea of having class specific mythics that would boost the relevance of their role.

Like a Mythic item specific for Dragonknights that increases burning uptimes, or perhaps the item would modify specific skills such as increasing the range of engulfing flames.......something on those lines.

The overall drive is to introduce more interesting items behind hard content or behind specific grinds (but not dependent on RNG)

Now with the Armory system coming making it less necessary to create multiple characters for the same class to do different builds - yeah I don't see an issue with class specific quests.

Adds more flavor to each character and makes each character more of a unique playthrough - which ESO desperately needs more of.

Awesome ideas dude! My mental backstory has some similar ideas, especially around the Dragonknights, like they used the weapons of the Akaviri against them, or were trained as a Blade or something. I don't think it'd ever be developed, but it's always fun to hear the backstory others have.

    12 characters later.

It's fine, I get to be super pointed about what each should be. Kinda exciting!

yep, class identity is in a bit of a bad state right now, i'm in firm belief that they need to spend the next couple of patches addressing it. it's bad in warden's case where we now have no reason to use deep fissure in pve anymore since sub assault outclasses it.

I like the class specific quests idea. It would add a lot of nice flavor to playing the different classes. But I'm not down with the idea of light/heavy attacking for 20 levels. That seems tedious and discouraging for people who have never played the game. While you may not "need" anything else for the first 20 levels if you're an experienced player, I know that the combat system in this game can be a little daunting for a newbie. I'd rather see a system that lets a player experiment with the skills from the classes to see what they like before choosing a role, rather than one that locks them into the boredom of light/heavy attack for 20 levels.

Love the class introduction quest idea - maybe I could finally understand the eso concept of sorc.
Maybe it could be created instead of the first tutorial quest zone - it could include optional tutorial quest for each class? Instead of 1 generic. Or it could be really different for each class if ZOS didn't want to do a new zone tutorial quest each expansion?

    But it will never happen.

the more I think about it, the more im convinced this would be really good content for the game. However I think there should be kind of levels in it. So for example you would get a part of the class quest when you are under lvl 20, another part when you reach cp 160, and maybe another part at end game.

The end game part of the quest would reward you with class specific mythic.
